Once again amazing video. From Spain I can't do anything but feel a healthy envy when I see that communion between nature and the practice of hunting. A hug and good hunting. I hope the Google translator has done his job well.
nothin better then great dog work, and hunting with family!!! looked like a great time & good weather!!! thanks for sharing & hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
I was chuckling when you shot in the direction of Tom and said he’s family. I say the same when hunting with my brothers as well! 😂 As always I so enjoy the dog work and your shorting skills. Thanks for another awesome video.
Thanks for posting these videos, I really enjoy them. We have 3 GWPs at home. Mum and 2 daughters, same breeding but different litters. Mum and the elder daughter are very competitive when hunting. That said, they do honour (back) the other's point so that's good. We are still training the younger pup but she is just an 11 month baby and won't get worked until next season. Have a great Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
You always have the perfect setting! Just got back from the southwest. Got a doubleplay, gamble & mearns in consecutive coveys. Finished at 9am, could of headed an hour away to finish the grand slam with the scaleys but had to get home. We're planning the grand slam challenge next month.... It's waiting for you, I know you can do it. You have the perfect dogs for it. Just saying..
Hey Chuck, that’s awesome! I actually just got back from there as well. Like you, we had some fantastic hunting on mearns and gambels. I saw a few scalies when hunting gambels but none in the bag. No matter though, it was a blast!
@Eric Forrester I'm glad you made it! Now you can dial it in and get the triple play in a day! I'm sure you'll get it. You're better equipped than most of us. That's a long hall for you to travel. You should couple in Navada & or Utah for chucker while you're here. I'm targeting Utah next month for chucker. I'll let you know how that turns out... You got me hooked on the Upland dream bud. Keep those vids coming. I'm trying to dial in gopro & shotkam while hunting. What a tecno nightmare... Really respect your work! Stay safe!
Love your content! Heck of shot too! What general area of Kansas are you hunting in part 1 and 2? Public or private land? I am a new Kansas upland hunter with a GWP. Just moved here from OK and trying to get a feel for the best areas to maximize the few opportunities I get during the season.
Eric. I assume this is private land. To many flushes for Public , or the Kansas (or Quail Unlimited) DNR has done a great job. Got picked for IN DNR hunt in Newton Co. last month. Quail everywhere. Habitat the key. The only way Indiana is going to get back quail. Blizzard of '78 they never have recovered.
I’d start by looking at the state brood surveys and whistle counts to identify areas that hold good numbers. Then look for places to hunt in that area that have good habitat. Scout them out to see if they look good, then it’s just boots on the ground.
Good stuff as always. Have always hunted NW KS, wonder if Smoky Hills is a better option this year. What’s your opinion, considering the drought conditions?
Enjoying some wild Kansas quail for dinner as I watch this. Great video!
Awesome to see some good wild quail flushes. Raised up hunting quail in Tennessee and boy do I miss this. You are living my dream brother!
Thanks man! 👊
At 13:30 when Telly was retrieving another bird got up to the right. Nice dogs!

Headed to Kansas at the ins of January, chasing quail and Pheasants. Reports haven’t been promising but we’re going to give it a try!
9:30- just shows how wide some spreads are and still having some stopping power. What size shot were you shooting? Sorry if you mentioned it. Thanks

Actually it was all publicly accessible.
What do you look for in Kansas when looking for quail...want to make the trip but I don't know where to start

Love your stuff. I live in Kansas currently and Quail numbers have been very good this year! Do you cover dog training in your patreon videos?
Thanks. A little bit.

Brilliant just Brilliant 👏
Thanks! 👊
Amazing!
Is this public land or private

Eric,
Are these Kansas quail - wild or early release? I think wild .
Enjoy your videos.
Great stuff!!!
Wild👍
Great video Eric!
Are the quail up from last year? I was there at the end of January last season, birds were pretty thin.
I think they were a little better. 👍
Do you ever scare up rabbits while in quail/ pheasant country ?
Sure, we even get points on them sometimes.
What choke do you use? what kind of shot do you prefer? thanks
Open choke like skeet and 7.5’s
@@ericforrester1 Thanks so much, that helps me a lot. Do you use copper?
Not usually

Is Moxy a wirehair or a shorthair. Her daughter has wiskers but Moxy looks like she doesn't.
All my dogs are wirehairs but some don’t have much of a beard
Great video! The dogs did great! Outstanding quail hunting there!
Kill every coyote you see! Always!
Thanks!
What Lind of over under shotgun do you shoot
