Hear me out, I can't deny that the movie has some good messages and good scenes with Barbie trying to understand everything and just being a human. These are the most powerful lines in the film: Ruth: Being a human can be pretty uncomfortable. Humans make things up like "Patriarchy" and "Barbie" just deal on how uncomfortable it is. And then you die. ---- Barbie: I wanna be part of the people that make meaning, not a thing that's made. I wanna be doing the imagining not the idea. And Barbie doesn't even want to be Barbie anymore and left Barbie Land(Matriarchy)
Piers Morgan clearly doesn't know anything about the history of the Barbie doll. It's an ongoing thing that Barbie does every job. It's not against men. It's just promoting a Barbie. It's not about about putting down men.
My daughter and her friends went and saw it. They found it so exciting they started playing on their phones 15 minutes into it. They didn't notice any issues with politics or feminism, just boring crap.

I watched it yesterday. It was HUGELY disappointing. I don't know how anyone can watch the movie and see nothing wrong with it.. All the men in the movie are portrayed as cringe idiots - who know nothing, do nothing worthwhile and think they are a nobody without a 'barbie' woman. Story was terrible.. And so was the 'humour' - if there was any.. Right at the end, barbie goes into the real world, to meet her gynaecologist. 😐 What was that meant to be about??? The movie was written by a woman who clearly hates all men. Wouldn't be surprised if she had an absent father or abusive relationship with a spouse or male relative.
You missed the point. The Kens are being treated in Barbieland the way women have been treated for forever, which shows how sad an existence it is. When Barbieland turns into a patriarchy we realize that type of power toward one gender doesn’t work either. (Even though our real world still has male dominance). The end of the movie shows a desire to respect everyone. Barbie even apologies to Ken. You caught that, right? Barbie says she doesn’t want to go back to the way it was before with women running everything. It’s not about hating men. It’s about showing how tough it’s been for women to live in a male dominated society.
