Thank you for watching!! We hope this helps you reduce your mental load a little!! Also, our Simple Homes & Homeschools membership group is open for just a little longer, find all of the details in the description! We love you and hope you have a good day!! - Dawn & Diana
The Minimal Mom It was so refreshing to start my morning watching this with a cup of coffee, thank you for this great reflection! Hope you ladies and your families have a wonderful day too!
Being a good “gate keeper” of our stuff and activities has made a remarkable change. I don’t know how I could have handled the past few months if it had happened a year ago when our house and our schedule was a ridiculously high level of inventory. I can’t thank you enough for the difference the two of you and your sweet families have made in our lives! 🤗😘🤗😘
I was asking my boys to clean up the other day and there was a big meltdown from both of them, so instead of getting mad I apologise to them for burdening then with to much stuff, we talked about what is important and what there favourite memories were and how they weren’t memories about our thing but our experience and then we decluttered their toys by half. I explained that they aren’t being thrown out, just put away to see if it makes them feel better. It’s been a week, I haven’t asked them once to clean up and I have felt such a huge sense of relief that I don’t have to ask/argue with them to clean up and I also don’t have to clean it up. Their also haven’t asked for any of their stuff back and I’m moving it to longer term storage until I can donate it (we are in lockdown in Australia) thank you for the regular reminders that stuff isn’t important ❤️
That’s a great idea not to force them to “get rid of” stuff, but just set it aside and see if they still want it. I need to try this with my kids (who want to keep every single toy!)
Diana's comment, "We're not meant to manage this much stuff ", was a light bulb moment for me. It just made so much sense. Thank you ladies for these videos.
I always knew this - but it didn’t click until I was near a nervous mental emotional breakdown! And then it was like wait why am I attempting to care about managing all this stuff when the rest of my family isn’t? As long as they don’t see me getting rid of it they don’t remember - and don’t care and after 4 weeks of intensive decluttering our house has stayed nice and clean for a solid week and no one has remembered or asked about a single thing missing
I found that I can get rid of physical clutter but still have mental clutter. Developing a stronger relationship with the Lord has helped me begin to let go of painful experiences in the past and not worry so much about the future. I find that I have to pursue a close relationship with God every day or I return to living with mental clutter.
Yes! “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.“
Having an anxiety disorder, I struggle with mental overload daily, and disarray & clutter was adding to that sense of overload; my cup was running over with stress/anxiety. Since minimizing most of my space I now have a place that feels calm, with little to clean or organize. Thank you for your words of encouragement and wisdom, they've been such a blessing to me. Thank you!
As do I, and my ToDo list, Mental inventory is enormous. I didnt think of forgetfulness as being a result of this, but that's so true. Yes, it's like all this stuff you see or feel is screaming at you as you think or pass it. That has helped me a lot in recognizing and explaining to my husband.
This isn’t the point of the video, but I so appreciate that you are attentive to your sister’s love language (at the beginning of this video). You want to show her you are thinking of her and love her in the way she receives it best (through gifts). It’s a simple and subtle encouragement for me to do similarly with my own sister (her love language is quality time). Thank you for sharing this little tidbit about your beautiful friendship! 💕 EDIT: Soon after posting my comment, I asked my sister if she wanted to meet up for a coffee date somewhere and she said, "YES! For sure." Quality time for the win!
@@themamabearlife3339 they are earrings and don't have a finite life! Your sister loved them enough to give them up to you for the rest of their useful life. If she was greedy you would have never know that they were meant for you. By wearing them briefly she was reaffirming their quality, comfort and how they would look even better on you!
Sally Davidson OMG, your comment triggered a memory from back in the 70s...in high school I admired a handmade necklace on a fellow student and she took it off and gave it to me. I protested but she insisted. She had carved some kind of bone and then painted a design on it. Now I will have to find it in my very cluttered life, lol. So interesting to read your comment in reply to that other comment, and then to think about not talking to my sister in over 30 years (her choice).
And THANK YOU momma H for mentioning about this Love Language. I’ll browse about it bcoz I wanna know what each of my sons’ love language. Both have different and I know what my youngest’ is. I just need to learn more about what is my firstborn’s love language. After reading your comment, I think it’s either thru gift or quality time (or maybe even both!).
Hi I wanted to tell you I went through my 2 closets yesterday. I am donating and trashing 36 bags of stuff today. I was able to go through the memories and emotions yesterday. It feels awesome to do all this. I do want other people to enjoy the stuff I used to enjoy before it got to be to much stuff. Thank you for everything. Both of your shirts are beautiful.
TESTIMONY: there was a time that I thought because of things beyond my control we were going to loose our home... I was praying and crying and Jesus spoke to my spirit... I left everything for you do you not think I will provide for you? That burden lifted and I am still in this home 15 years later!
God did the same thing for me...i was given 2 years to live from my cardiologist ...my daughter was 8 at the time ...i cried out to God..."OH God I can't even get life insurance to insure my daughter will get to go to college!" These words pierced my soul... "THE ONLY LIFE INSURANCE ANYONE NEEDS IS SALVATION! I CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH 🌎 YOU DON'T THINK I CAN PROVIDE FOR YOUR CHILD? SHE IS "MY" CHILD AND I WILL PROVIDE! ALSO GOD TOLD ME TO TELL THE HEART DOCTOR THAT MAN DOES NOT NUMBER OUR DAYS ONLY GOD NUMBERS OUR DAYS! That was 10 years ago...God was and IS and WILL ALWAYS BE kind and caring and Faithful...our daughter starts college in two weeks and... i am soooo thankful 🙏 to get to be here to see it. And...yes God did provide 🙌 for her tuition...it is only $1,400.00 ....oh ME of little Faith. Oh God of great love and provision. Praising God alone to GOD be the Glory GLORY!
The Lord taught me something about trusting him with my possessions... I was given a years worth of clothes when by 1st born son was born. After he grew out of them-I held on to them as an investment for my future large family- after all, The Lord gave them to me and I should be a faithful/resourceful steward. But as the Lord was searching my heart, he revealed that I was secretly hoarding these baby clothes because deep down I didn’t believe he would provide for me again. So, even though I was pregnant with my second, I released all the baby clothes I was given as the Lord was gently prompting me to do. Come to find out-I was having a girl! I wouldn’t have another boy until 5 years later and the thought of storing clothes for that long would take up too much space in my closets and mind-as your video so accurately described. Give it away! The Lord can and will provide for you again.
It's funny how you brought this topic up. I was sick for so long that my husband was doing every thing. So in September I started minimizing my home because I came to the conclusion that I am physically not able to take care of all this stuff anymore. I want to take the stress off my husband and I have been able too. Thanks for the help!
@@holiday-td6hx I used to have a spotless home too. Honestly I looked around the house and thought if something ever happened to me I wouldn't want my husband or daughter to deal with it. I wouldn't want my daughter to keep it all because it was "Mommy's". The reason I had so much stuff is because I was the only daughter, grand daughter and a lot of things were past down to me that meant nothing to them. So after I packed up those things I got the bug to get rid of any thing that didn't appeal to me any more. Now it's easier to look at things and say I don't need and I don't want it so I donate it or give it to someone that would like to have it.
Same. We have 960 sq feet and we are making the most of it! I see all of these accounts that have dedicated homeschool rooms and that's great if you have the space! But, we are just using our kitchen table and some cubbies. :)
I love the term "mental load", no wonder clutter and too much stuff at home gives me so much stress and anxiety! Thanks again for motivating me to declutter more! :)
So thoughtful and insightful, these are definitely strange times. As a healthcare worker, I have found that I physically need an uncluttered home to come home to at the end of the day. There are so many things during the day that I don’t have control over since my department does Covid testing and policies and requirements are changing daily, sometimes hourly. I do have control over most things at home and have found my evolving.minimalism a source of tranquility after the extreme stresses of the day. Your channel provides a lot of inspiration. Thank you!
Best wishes to you. similar here. i also work for a healthcare company and speak to many people during the day, so mental overwhelm is affecting everyone i think. the silver lining is that i now have to really get serious about the decluttering and as you say doing those things that are within your control. i have only recently discovered the minimal mom and also loving the videos. winter time here in Australia so a good time to be going through the whole house.
The task list on my phone was beyond me as well. Even a planner was making me crazy. I stepped back and recalled loving the 2 notebooks I used to use. One for today, and one for todos. Things for specific days go on the old kitchen calendar. It’s nice having that calendar back.
Following you and my regular decluttering has allowed me to constantly provide my neighbor with items that she can send to her family in Venezuela. Her family is so grateful, which makes me want to declutter more! I never thought decluttering would be so helpful for my mental health. Clearing out my stuff has helped me clear my mind, so that I can actually complete projects that fulfill me.
I have been training myself to ask the question “Will I miss it if it’s gone?. This has been helping me pass along, donate or trash some of my clutter. My goal is to ask this question about 1 item a day.
Thanks for this, it’s inspired another go through with the new question! I’m also retired and hoping to move in the next year, and thought I was doing well with “do I want to pay to move this?” But “will I miss it if it’s gone” is another level!
Thank you ladies, I’m so guilty of overloading my diary, then a few months ago I had a breakdown, thanks to my dr and medication I’m learning to take life at a slower pace and not always at everyone’s beck and call. I’m learning to say no which comes hard for me but I’m getting there and today made so much sense take care Dawn and Diana xxxx
Been there. YOU CAN DO IT I finally realized that saying yes to everybody was saying no to myself and to my kids and you can say it in such a Godly way Love to but can't that's our family time or You know I can't make it I have to much on my plate already or Maybe another time I'm trying to make more time for my family Would love to but I can't even squeeze it in Because that's how you're feeling in the more you express that to people better you're going to feel Prayers for you
@@Soo_Blessed A good friend of mine says that time and money are both limited resources, so every time you say yes to one thing, you're saying no to something else.
I haven't gone to church in a long time, so I usually cringe when someone tries to "force" religion on me, but when Diana read the passage, I felt a sense of calm. I want to be free of this clutter! Thank you! ❤
I must be emotional today because I started to cry thinking about all the small tasks that need to be done today. Seeing your clean mimimalized home is such a peaceful feeling. Thank you for the inspiration once again. Wish me luck in checking off my list today! Love you both and continued blessings for your channels.
Just what I needed today! My husband just retired and we sometimes slip into worrying about whether our money will last the rest of our lives. But we both know that God has provided for us in the past and will continue to provide for us. Thanks for today's message!
THANKS for this message! I am reminded that God provides all that we need (spiritually and/or materially) while we are here on this earth which is for a very short time in light of eternity (2 Cor 4:17) Our permanent home is in heaven where there will be no more want or needs...no more having to de-clutter!
PREACH IT SISTERS!!!! Love how you ladies drive it home about what’s important. I ride the trust struggle bus often. Thank you for reminding me that there is another mode of transportation called Jesus 😊
I love the analogy with the backpack of food...that's exactly what we do to the Lord when we try to take control of things ourselves! Your Sunday devotions always get my week started out just right. Have done a lot of minimalizing this past two weeks....two car loads to my local homeless shelter store with a little more yet to go. It feels sooooo good! This week I get into the hobby stuff and your video today has helped me make a decision as to where it should go. Thanks for being such a blessing !❤
The passage in Matthew and the analogy of your daughter carrying around a backpack of food really resonated with me. Thank you for your tips and your Insight. Way to go sisters!❤
Thank you both for the timely message. I felt so overwhelmed with uncertainty and exhaustion yesterday that I was not fully present for my family. Today I woke up feeling better and this video has helped me identify some of the issues. God bless both of you.
Thank you for sharing this message . I knew that I had been experiencing some anxiety and very mild depression as the months have rolled on with having to deal with the realities of daily life, but I didn't know how much everything was getting to me until I watched your video this morning. It has helped me to put things into perspective; focus on the things of heaven and God's leading instead of feeling that all is out of control. God knows my needs and will provide!
I feel like you are giving me permission to prioritize myself so that I am not over-burdened. .... My yoke is easy and my burden is LIGHT!! Bless you both!
Thank you for words of wisdom. I have been seeing different posts about storing up food and was getting stressed about how much we need to get and inexpensively. Because I don't really have the finances to do it. My husband said to me last night don't do it if it just because everyone else is. Do what is best for our family. And now your words of, trusting the Lord for our needs, really spoke to me.
I am so much happier since I became a minimalist. Now I have room to move. My home is peaceful. I cook a lot more than I ever have. I found out I can cook delicious food. I am also pickling vegetables and growing some veggies. I also borrowed some stuff for making and canning strawberry jam. I am going to try to do that tomorrow. I have never done anything like this. My kitchen is simplified and I love that. Thank you for all your help.
Love, love, love you two ladies and your message. Yes - mental overload. I recently divorced & moved into a smaller home having only what I absolutely needed to survive. Then about 8months ago my ex sent the remainder of our things in storage. Idont have room for most of it, and just unpacking the boxes is stressful. Life was easier & simpler living with just what I needed. Thanks ladies.
I’m just “baby stepping” to declutter...I know I can do well in some areas & I know in other areas I’m going to have a hard time...I’m doing 5 minutes at a time...decision fatigue happens so quick for me! So enjoyed the devotion & prayer time!
Yes I know what you mean about decision fatigue. I get so excited about having things organized like 33 wardrobe items, or I decide what I want in the toy boxes and everything else goes out. That ones genius. So many great ideas
I love your house! It’s so pretty and tidy.... I am in the middle of swimming through photos ( I am decluttering a piece of furniture that was housing things like a graveyard) it is not fun...I want to buy photo albums... all same size... Thank you for the scripture ❤️!! My mom passed way 13 years ago and I have had to handle a lot of her possessions... which included a divorce, cancer, and beautiful memories too. Roses with a ton of thorns.
Every once in a while you mention the science behind minimalism or a study. When you can, will you include those sources? I'd love to read those studies and maybe that will help me commit to this! 😊
I have always been a pack rat and would hold on to things for the purpose of i might use it someday. Since my mom past i felt so much weight on my mind. Once I started minimizing my moms items along with my own, I felt lighter. Thank you both for sharing your faith and incite on minimizing.
I love that you bring scripture into your videos! I live in a house with 26 years of stuff! I am 62 years old. We are empty nesters. I am thinking too that what I don't get rid of my son and his wife, and possibly my grandson will have to go through it all. I have decluttered many things this year. However, There is still so much more to do. I am overwhelmed and stressed all the time, even with medication and counseling. I do believe when my house is simpler it will help my home to be more peaceful. Thanks to both of you for all your videos. It helps me believe that I can eventually get this done.
I just want to thank Diane for the scripture and prayer at the end of this… something so simple just did my heart good. Sometimes we forget that the Lord doesn’t expect us to “do it all” or to “manage it all!” His ways are always best!
I didn’t realize how much Diana’s weekly inspiration nourished my soul until I went a week without it. Your channel is so amazing and you and your family are so inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you for the prayer covering at the end! The analogy given about the snack and providing food for your daughter, really made this click in a new way!
This topic (and scripture) very much resonated with me today and left me empowered and feeling like I can do this. I needed the reminder that I can trust in my Heavenly Father to provide and that I can LET GO of trying to (or feeling like I need to) do it all. I can have just what I need without always thinking I need more. I'm a living testament to the mental load you described. I've been retired now for about two years and I feel as if I'm slowly but surely overcoming that mindset. I spent 30 professional years stressed out, overwhelmed, tired, and with way too much to deal with. Now I feel as if I'm almost the complete opposite! LOL And having to shelter in place recently has certainly given me time to deal with all the stuff that's cluttered up my life for too many years. And, yes, I'm doing it! One step at a time.
I needed to watch just half of this video to get started decluttering some educational materials that I’m no longer using. Some needed to be discarded; some are packed up for donating. Thanks!
I love the idea of children naturally being trustful of their parents to provide for them, care for them, protect them as an illustration of how we should naturally trust our Father’s provision and care. A simple, yet profound “well, duh!” moment for me!
I think most Americans automatically use a dryer. From what I've seen, outdoor clothes lines are rare. (Just my observation; not a judgment or editorial.)
Oh the mental load. Perfect message for my journey this week. And my Homeschooling(great gruop) journey. And my Eternal minimal life change. Feeling drained but excited. Please keep me in ur pradera.
Thank you for another great video! Very comforting and helpful. One of the things I am trying to be more mindful of is buying food I know I actually like (vs. things to try, which I do occasionally). When I buy food I know I really like then I don’t have to contemplate what to cook as much. It’s much easier. Less to think about. I know I’ll like whatever I cook. Kind of like having only the clothes you like in your closet. No matter what you pick out you’re going to feel comfortable in them.
While I do take inventory of my responsibilities fairly frequently, I somehow never thought of it as a mental load. No wonder I'm always tired and feeling guilty about not getting to everything. 🤦🏼♀️ Sidenote: I recently decluttered and even sold some things! Yay!
Thank you Ladies so very much for your time and energy that you put toward your viewers! I love waking up on Sunday morning and listening to you relate the scripture to our lives. It’s refreshing and comforting all at the same time. Enjoy this beautiful day!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us/me 🙏. I very much needed to be reminded that my heavenly father is ALWAYS caring for me.❣️🙏. You have and continue to be a blessing to me. God bless you 🙏
Wow! Dawn & Diana, this is such a powerful and important message! This is the biggest reason I have been on the journey of decluttering. I’ve learned I am someone who cannot manage a bunch of things. I am not the mom I want to be when I have too much physical clutter, mental clutter, and schedule clutter to manage. My physician asks if I’m stressed and I have said “No” because I don’t feel I have big stresses in my life right now compared to what other people are going through. However, I think the “little” stresses have all added up and have made me a stressed-out person. Thanks for sharing this and giving me another confidence boost that I am doing the right thing. ❤️❤️❤️
I love how Dawn just wants to help us all . She doesn't want fame or fortune , just a sweet perspective to help ! And it DOES help and work ! We need you Dawn ! And Dianna you are so sweet and passionate about our Saviour , it just makes my mental load go down.
Thank you ladies for another great message! I'm working towards decluttering every area in my house. Mental load = anxiety & stress... 2 things no one needs. Have a blessed week ❤
you're videos have been such a blessing to me and my family. It's been life changing to learn so much about mental load in an inventory perspective . God has answered my prayers through your channel. You and your sister have such a special light. May all the Glory be to him. Blessings and thank you!
Thank you so much for this message!! I noticed today how my kids aren’t complaining as much when it comes time to clean their toys because they don’t have as many as they used to (still too many in my book) so it only takes a few minutes to clean up! I didn’t realize I would be lowering their mental load as well! Also ugh you definitely hit the nail on the head with that verse. You know I’ve read that one so many times and never thought about it the way you explained it. My husband and I started a food storage shelf for emergencies and it’s like right when we started that shelf our finances went down the drain. I’m sure Gods trying to get our attention. Thank you so much, you’re changing my life and my hubby is on board with it too!!
This makes me cry. I wish I had a pair of women in my physical life like you ladies, but I am so so thankful for the opportunity to listen to your videos.
I have been saying this for years!!!! ‘We are not meant to manage this much!’ I continue to ‘manage’ this feeling and ‘minimize’ my workload. That example about your daughter was so visual Dawn! Thanks!I always appreciate your advice!!
Love you Gals! Less stuff....this is why we are heading out in an rv. My mental space was so incredibly clear living in 300 square feet. In our 3,000sqft home, I always see what needs done and it messes with my ability to think! God bless❤️
Thank you Dawn for your wise counsel. I really enjoy watching/ listening to you (and your sister). You have a calm comforting way of talking and it’s uplifting. Thank you for the spiritual messages you give as well. There is so much negativity and hatefulness going on in this country and on social media right now. It’s very depressing and can drag us down. We need more channels like yours..., that uplift us and help us move forward with more light in our lives. That light and my testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ, help me get through all this every day. 😊💜
I love the fact that you bring the Lord into your videos. It’s so refreshing that I hear these assurances in a world that denies He exists !!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Thank you so much for reminding everyone that he is there and he takes care of us. Bless you
Thank you ladies for another beautiful, inspiring chat. Dawn, I had a similar realization years ago about trusting our Heavenly Father. My family was at Cracker Barrell having a meal; my husband and myself, our daughters and our granddaughters. One of our granddaughters just looked up at her Pawpaw and asked, (while she was reaching into his plate to get the food she wanted), can I have some of that? I smiled at the time and thought how wonderful it was for her to be so secure in her relationship with her Pawpaw that she knew she could ask and he would, first not be angry that she was asking, and second that she was so secure that he would say yes that she was reaching for it while she was asking. I then thought about my relationship with my Heavenly Father and knew I wasn't there yet but I desired to reach that point. Thank you for the encouragement in our temporal lives but mostly for the encouragement into our spiritual lives and how we can improve them. Blessings on your coming week.
Hi Dawn and Diana. Thank you for your videos. I'm 72 and am learning how let things go, thanks to you. Last night I cleaned (out) a kitchen cupboard and the drawer below it. This morning when I opened the cupboard and drawer I had a great surprise!! I forgot what I had done last night and my cupboard/drawer had space, looked organized. The thrift store is going to be my new best friend. I'm ready to do a repeat cleaning out more cupboards. You are 100% correct about letting things go.
Amen! That's the very Scripture that has been on my mind since I found your videos. The example about your children packing their own food when coming to the kitchen, or table, due to their lack of trust that you'd provide what they'd need is a perfect illustration to truly show what we adults are NOT doing, which is trusting the One in authority over us to do what He says He'll do. Great content!
I so look forward to you and Diana on Sunday mornings! I thought it was changing somehow, but I'm so glad its not. Thank you for the prayer! Have a good week, you two ladies!
Declutering in my home has been a life changer for me! I’ve only made one big sweep through, and I’ve sold some things, some I’ve given to others, but still my house is so much easier to take care of. I will continue, as soon as my husband gets the hang of it. Lol. Like you said in this video it really does destress from everything else that goes on in life. Thank you so much for your podcasts. I really enjoy them all, especially when your sister, you and your husband are all involved. Thank you again for making life more about our loved ones than our earthly possessions.
Diana, turn off those reminders! You know the list is there, and you can visit it each morning to decide which items you want to tackle that day. And maybe there could be clusters of tasks that you do on a particular day of the week so that you don't have to feel guilty every day for not doing everything on your list. Wonderful video today, ladies!
Love your videos. Just yesterday my husband received a box from a former Co-worker. She sent him "computer stuff" that was outdated! Just between you & me I am so excited that I get to take these items to Salvation Army! I jokingly told him to let his friend know that I am trying to Declutter, not bring more stuff in.
I love your sisters Bible portion. She is the best! Love you ladies. So wonderful to watch you together. So much love comes from you both. I can just see how much you care for your audience.
Great verse , do not lay up for yourself things of this earth that will get rusty and dusty. I just never thought about it with cleaning house. My mom and I used to houseclean 2 times a year. we cleaned the drawer then put it all back in. I was a messy mom. Now grown, my 4 boys are clean and lean. My daughter is a saver but organized. I remember my one son not being able to clean his room. We saw that there was just too much. I am so glad I found you girls. I took a load to the Goodwill yesterday and have a box ready for the next load.
I’ve watched you channel since close to the beginning and had decluttered a lot, but one thing I couldn’t part with was baby clothes even though our “baby” is 2. The Lord convicted me that someone else could be using it now, so I finally took the plunge and gave away over 1,000 items of clothing! That inspired me to get rid of even more items elsewhere. And the house is SO MUCH more peaceful and manageable now! Minimalism/simple living is truly life changing. Thanks for the inspiration! ❤️
I've saved this video. It speaks to my heart. I have a husband that just can't stop collecting. That mental load that you are talking about is true. My husband has over 300 hundred boxes of N-scale trains, 300 boxes of Hallmark ornaments, hundreds of spooky town display pieces and other Lemax pieces. Not included is all the train memorabilia, old toys, stuffed animals and diecast cars. He has so much he really doesn't know where anything is. I am at the age where I want to downsize my possessions. So I can enjoy my life, spend time with family and friends. As I have started to declutter he starts rooting through everything. He takes my kids old toys(everything from a Barbie shoe to stuffed animals) or an old kitchen tool that came from his cousin's home or his mom's home. I can't get rid of anything!!! In his man cave he has boxes of his father's books, his sister's old toys, electric signals from the railroad line he runs on. I digress though. He has left it up to me to maintain his collections on top of caring for a 6,000 square foot home and 3.5 acres of land. I am constantly on mental overload. As. I down size my things and my daughter's left behinds which aren't much I feel better about myself. But as I look at the big picture I see all this craziness of my husband's collections I get so overwhelmed I get so stuck. So the mental aspects of too much clutter is very real. Counseling does not address these issues either. I've tried for myself.
I absolutely love that you included scripture and application in this video! I have been a collector of stuff for pretty much all of my life. I'm 40 now and have gone through bouts of purging, but never completely. I am moving out of state and finally putting my foot down. This stuff will not make another move with me! So I am striving to find ways to let go and live with less. It is freeing! I have a lot to sort, but I know I will leave with less of a load, by far, than I have had in years! So thank you for the tips, insight and reassurance that it will be ok. You ladies have beautiful smiles, which makes this whole process even more enjoyable!
Just want to say THANK YOU to both of you! I always come away from your videos with a renewed determination (mentally and spiritually) to let go of what is weighing down myself and ultimately my family. By the way, the videos with your husband are the sweetest and funniest! Be blessed.
This is so good! I was decluttering my clothes a few years ago, and being a very frugal person and pregnant most of my life, I had SO MANY clothes that didn’t fit because “I will probably need it at some point” but, in the moment of going through my clothes I felt a prompting that me holding onto all of those clothes was me not trusting that the Lord would provide if I needed. So I let go of everything that didn’t fit and gave it to The Lord and audibly told Him “ I trust that you will provide when the time comes” and I have not once since then been in need or want for clothes. Thank you again for those reminders!!
I’d love for Diana to do a video of how she studies the Word of God. She seems to always know and understand a scripture in depth. Can you all please provide a list of study tools she uses! Love this!!
Thank you so much for this fresh and beautiful perspective on God's provision. The example He placed on your heart of what it would be like if Adeline didn't trust you to take care of her is SO perfect! You both have lifted me up, thank you!! And thank you for the prayer ❤❤

watching at 6:30 am in Australia was so nice to start my day
Good Night from London
What a wise parenting decision! 👏👏👏
I've been planning to do this next week!
Oh what a gracious moment you had with your children. And the way you did it and phrased it “ to see if it makes you feel better “. Priceless.
What a great way to walk them through the process and help them understand the value they gain! 🥰
Yes! For me, too.
That stood out to me, too. Great motivation!
Same! It’s so true
This is so good Diana!! I'm glad you shared, I think it will encourage others, too!!
So, absolutely, true! Keep up the good work!
Yessss! There's a book called Prayers that Heal the Heart. It helped me so much with this!
Thanks for sharing a book suggestion. I will take a look!
Thank you!
This is really encouraging Kat!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
This. Thank you for sharing.
@@melanierust7129 I fell the same way, definitely.
EDIT: Soon after posting my comment, I asked my sister if she wanted to meet up for a coffee date somewhere and she said, "YES! For sure." Quality time for the win!
I thought that was sweet to, except for the part that she used them first. My sister does that to me, and it has always upset me.
I loved that too!!!
WOW! That's fantastic! Good for you!
TESTIMONY: there was a time that I thought because of things beyond my control we were going to loose our home... I was praying and crying and Jesus spoke to my spirit... I left everything for you do you not think I will provide for you? That burden lifted and I am still in this home 15 years later!
PRAISE THE LORD! HE always provides!!
God did the same thing for me...i was given 2 years to live from my cardiologist ...my daughter was 8 at the time ...i cried out to God..."OH God I can't even get life insurance to insure my daughter will get to go to college!"
These words pierced my soul...
Love these great testimonies!!! I say that also... ye of little faith😊 but the in the end the Lord always provides!

I'm going to listen to this again, and then take yet another 'go through' my house with eternity in mind. Thank you....love you two!
Me too. I think it will help my depression era thinking even though I didn’t live in the Great Depression.
@@ps0195 i know ... Maybe we inherit that from our mums?
We’re just passing through. Jewish sage.
Tanya....how did you start minimizing? For someone that used to have a spotless home...I can't believe I'm actually asking you this?
That's awesome Tanya-- way to go!!!
@@holiday-td6hx Go back and watch more of Dawn's videos she has been extremely helpful.
We’ve been trying to create a quiet clear space for the kids for homeschooling in our tiny home and it made me realize how much we actually have.
Same. We have 960 sq feet and we are making the most of it! I see all of these accounts that have dedicated homeschool rooms and that's great if you have the space! But, we are just using our kitchen table and some cubbies. :)
@Veronica Lemon I figure that's where we are most of the time anyway so, why not have them in the main living area also.
6 people in under 900 square feet here. I feel ya!
Don't forget the todones lol
Following you and my regular decluttering has allowed me to constantly provide my neighbor with items that she can send to her family in Venezuela. Her family is so grateful, which makes me want to declutter more! I never thought decluttering would be so helpful for my mental health. Clearing out my stuff has helped me clear my mind, so that I can actually complete projects that fulfill me.
THAT is AMAZING :)
I have been training myself to ask the question “Will I miss it if it’s gone?. This has been helping me pass along, donate or trash some of my clutter. My goal is to ask this question about 1 item a day.
We may all have a question that works for us? Mine is, “Would I buy this again if I was in the store right now?” 😁
Good one. I am readying for retirement and may move in two years. I ask: Would you pack this to move?
I love that so much more than "does this bring me joy. Thank you for sharing!
Been there. YOU CAN DO IT
I finally realized that saying yes to everybody was saying no to myself and to my kids and you can say it in such a Godly way
Love to but can't that's our family time or You know I can't make it I have to much on my plate already or Maybe another time I'm trying to make more time for my family Would love to but I can't even squeeze it in
Because that's how you're feeling in the more you express that to people better you're going to feel Prayers for you
@@Soo_Blessed A good friend of mine says that time and money are both limited resources, so every time you say yes to one thing, you're saying no to something else.
The whole backpack filled with food totally put it in perspective for me!! He is a Good, Good Father! He has always provided!
Loved your comment!
This really hits home for me. Trying to declutter something everyday.
Thank you for including the faith and worship part again 💞🙏🏻
I love the analogy with the backpack of food...that's exactly what we do to the Lord when we try to take control of things ourselves! Your Sunday devotions always get my week started out just right. Have done a lot of minimalizing this past two weeks....two car loads to my local homeless shelter store with a little more yet to go. It feels sooooo good! This week I get into the hobby stuff and your video today has helped me make a decision as to where it should go. Thanks for being such a blessing !❤
WAY TO GO Linda!! This is so awesome!!!
The passage in Matthew and the analogy of your daughter carrying around a backpack of food really resonated with me. Thank you for your tips and your Insight. Way to go sisters!❤
I agree. That was great!
Thank you both for reminding me that we all are taken care of. All the hatred now has worn me down, and you both lifted me up. God bless.
Love and appreciate your hearts for helping others and for Him. Truly beautiful! 🥰🥰
Yes, and amen! Thank you, both, for speaking Truth into our lives.
I agree with you all. Getting rid of so much stuff has helped me so much. So much stuff to clean and think about.
'Decision fatigue'! Love it.
Same!! Often after a long session I literally need to lay down
Yes I know what you mean about decision fatigue.
"Roses with a ton of thorns." What a great phrase. I feel it, sister.
Every once in a while you mention the science behind minimalism or a study. When you can, will you include those sources? I'd love to read those studies and maybe that will help me commit to this! 😊
Google clutter & cortisol
Good morning! Thank you for bringing the prayer back on Sundays!!!!!!!!!!
I look forward to watching your videos every Sunday!
I didn’t realize how much Diana’s weekly inspiration nourished my soul until I went a week without it. Your channel is so amazing and you and your family are so inspiring. Thank you.
Wow, how I needed that scripture today! 🙌🏼 YES! I need to have faith in his provision as he has proven He will provide!
I live in England and it can take two days to get bedding dry so need two sets for each bed.
Yes, me too for the same reason! 😉
Same! Don't have a dryer!
I think most Americans automatically use a dryer. From what I've seen, outdoor clothes lines are rare. (Just my observation; not a judgment or editorial.)
Me too x
@@bumface5821 it's true. I don't know anyone that line dries their clothes
Sidenote: I recently decluttered and even sold some things! Yay!
That's awesome Levia!!! Way to go!!!
My constant mental overload is what caused me to find you and change my home! Thank you for your wisdom!
Thank you ladies for another great message! I'm working towards decluttering every area in my house. Mental load = anxiety & stress... 2 things no one needs. Have a blessed week ❤
You two lower my stress level with your joyful spirits. Much needed.
you're videos have been such a blessing to me and my family. It's been life changing to learn so much about mental load in an inventory perspective . God has answered my prayers through your channel. You and your sister have such a special light. May all the Glory be to him. Blessings and thank you!
If Diana is not a preacher/pastor, she should consider it! She has a natural gift of teaching and transmits such a lovely warmth.
Thank you Dawn and Diana for another sweet encouraging video. I so appreciate your prayer Diana. Love and Blessings!
Loved this. God did promise to care for us, He always has and always will. No need to worry. Thanks for the reminder! ❤️🌻
Love and blessings to you two and your families! You bless me EVERY time you are together!
Love love love the scripture and prayer 🙏 time! Thank you Jesus!
I'm an empty nester and you are helping me so much. Plus, I just find you so enjoyable. Your beautiful spirit and common sense are so.... uncommon!
I absolutely love how ya'll tie The Word into real life tangible situations! I get so much from these videos. What a blessing!
Thank you for this reminder!! God always provides and never fails!
I love your sisters Bible portion. She is the best! Love you ladies. So wonderful to watch you together. So much love comes from you both. I can just see how much you care for your audience.
Great Sunday video ladies! Thank you for showing us “newbies” new ways of thinking! Have a blessed Sunday. 🎚☕️
I could hear you talk about this for 45 minutes to an hour! So soothing to hear about God providing for us and alleviating our mental load.
You both are right on! I can't wait until I "get there"!
Be blessed.
I'll have to watch this one again...all I could focus on was the new fridge in the background!
Hahaha, yeah, our freezer stopped working last week and Tom wasn't able to fix it, such a bummer!!
I love the analogy of your daughter doubting whether you would provide for her....how much better and more that our King provides for us !!!
You are both so very lovely. Thank you so much for being here and for sharing your lives and knowledge with us.
