I live in WA and sometimes we take for granted what's in our back yard. Thanks for sharing! Learned some stuff too.

You have a great family and I enjoyed your daughter's happy spirit. After 50 years on San Juan Island, and a student of NW history, I have to correct your date on the signing of the boarder treaty between the US and Britain. You said 1849, but the actual date was June 15, 1846. Yeah, not a big deal until some local decides to comment! Your camera technique was excellent, as was the editing. When your daughter is as old as mine (50 this year) you will be very grateful you put the effort into both the trips and the filming!

      Thanks for the kind words!
In regards to the dates, I'm far from a scholar and believe I read verbatim from the sign at the park. Perhaps I misread it or the sign is wrong? Regardless, thanks for watching...it's a beautiful area that we thoroughly enjoyed!

You guys got prime spots both ways on the ferry! A rare occurrence, lucky you!

What they are Not telling you is the ferry WAIT TIMES to get back to Anacortes can be 12 HOURS or More, because the ferries are, constantly, Breaking Down or Being Canceled or Running Aground !!!

You have to relax and breath if you want to live on an island. Reading a book or knitting are perfect ferry line activities.
