I notice a bunch of hate about them being sponsored - it’s still helpful and insightful and tells the key main aspects and parts of the watch. Seriously
Polar doesn't allow notifications during activities. So you'll be happy about that but it's one thing I wish was an option. Maybe it's something they'll add in a future update so us dad's can stay in touch even while out training. Great video as always! Keep up the good work! 👍 🎥
Team charles-Barclay i wanted to follow up with you and see if you are still using this watch in 2023. I am currently shopping for a smartwatch but i'm having a hard time deciding between garmin or polar. What i like about Polar is that it has the fuel wise feature which i think is important to know what energy sources we are using during our workouts. Garmin i believe doesn't have that feature. Hear rate is a feature most watches have. I like the fact hat some garmin watches support spotify so we could download music and listen without having to bring our phones out for a run. Any advice as to what i could be looking at in 2023. Polar vantage v2 looks like a great watch but also concerned about accuracy. Thanks in advance.
Lucy, I'm a big fan. Everything you say about the watch is probably spot-on. I use the Polar M430. Having said that, the second a sponsored athlete "reviews" a product made by one of their sponsors, credibility kinda goes out the window. You HAVE TO like the watch. Just sayin'.
That really doesn't make any sense. If you know they are sponsored then you should expect a positive opinion before even watching the video. There are other reviews for what you're looking for.
Hi! Is it possible to use "nightly recharge" and "recovery pro + orthostatic test" at the same time or you need to choose one of these functions, as it was in the previous Polar vantage V? Thanks.
Another great video Lucy and i am not just saying this cause i'm a absolute fan girl of yours :p I just wish that Polar would release a Vantage for smaller wrists, cause i believe this one (and the previous version) is very big for my wrists! Thank you for the endless inspiration anyways! :)
A really compelling product, glad they are back, I was concerned about Polar when the successor on the V800 took about 1,5 years too long. Is the slapping feature still there, that was such a defining feature? Incase anyone from Polar is reading along, an Ultra event low battery mode feature for basic navigation and recording would be a very welcome feature (a key selling point for the competition, like the up & coming Coros watches).
Thank you . Polar make great watches. They can be confusing and overwhelming. Learning to use is is a must. It's a struggle as there are so many things to think about I get confused. Use a coach too.. they can help you understand it. No substitute for a good coach. I am glad I opted for this over the more expensive rivals with less functions. It has helped me rest avoid injury and love the bit on how the training should be improving me. I think the zones should be ignored sometimes and the programs can dumb my training like the hills maybe you need to push where is says slow. You need the right one for your standards and comprehension of sports science language. An essay right. I'd love to try the V2 but I have not mastered the m still so can't graduate 😂😂 it's been a best buy of 2019 for me and has helped me through some difficult times etc... The fit spark it 100% but you need to use your own judgement or intelligence too as it's over cautious for me sometimes..
I haven't got a Vantage (got an Ignite) but I have done testing very similar to the leg recovery test at uni and I think my best is high 40s (although I need to be quite explosive)
Hi, i ak thinking to buy a v2, but i would appreciate if you could let me know, is it possible to do a multisport activities like outside running, than directly outside swimming or a fitness training without necessity to stop previous activity and have an overall training results? Or would you please subscribe how it works when you are switching from one sport to another? What are the results on the watch please? Thank you a lot!
Sponsored video so basically meaningless unless compared with a competitor and the functionality & accuracy of that. Also it is amazing how sports watch devs seem to find new zany ways of us measuring our performance & recovery (jump test?) that other watches do not have - is that because they don't work or at least aren't accurate enough for them to want to risk their reputation on? Much of the science behind these new features would likely not stand up to rigorous scientific analysis. I will stick with DC Rainmaker or other impartial reviewers for my tech reviews especially knowing how much Instagram Influencers get paid.
@@LucyCharlesBarclay So when are you doing one for e.g. Garmin which is equally feature-packed and "science based"? Be honest and admit that it is a sponsored video as part of the video. You just being seen wearing it is sufficient endorsement for most potential buyers as well you know so you do not need to explicitly endorse it. Also be honest with people and explain how both companies hook you into their product/ecosystem and make it so users are unlikely to want to shift and lose the very valuable data (both for you but also the company who will be monetising it somehow)
Shes not the BBC mate shes not legally fucking obliged to test out every possible product on the market. Its obvious it would be polar and would be positive, gotta pay the bills. Who cares
If it's meaningless to you then why did you watch it? I seriously don't get people like you who are compelled to give their "insight" that no one actually asked for

Thanks for the detailed review. Shopping soon and was not aware of the V2.
This was very helpful and your professional feedback is much appreciated.
Agree, very nice review and helpful in making my choice for a new fitness watch selection at this price level.
My leg recovery test gave me 11.6” this morning (29cm)
A new high score 😭🏆 I need to practice! Hahahaha
I've been only hitting around 7. So embarrassing.
kofuziii 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Amazing video and very insightful .... How does this compare to Garmin ecosystem?

How is the screen brightness compared to the Polar Grit X or Vantage V1?

😍
I still haven't been able to save up enough dosh to buy the first one 🤣. If your old one is going spare... 😇
I love Lucy, still wouldnt touch polar ever again.
why??
Polar fool us again, i'm done with this brand :(
what do you mean? :O
@@ElectraHorvat They shut down the previous "polarflow" internet and my polar Cx5 useless and the new polar flow gives the same data, so...

Thanks for your comment. I’m only talking about the key features of the watch and how I would apply these to my training as a professional athlete.
