Excellent and the most comprehensive tutorial on how to add audio to blender. You just missed one thing - fade in and fade out for the music. But I figure I can add keyframes to the volume.. Thanks much.

I rendered my animation as a video first then open a new blender file under a video sequencer window to put the audio into it ... ZZZ if i had seen this video and do my research first i would have save so much timeeee. Really appreciate what you are doing hehe thank you once again!

Maybe you already know these things, but here are a few more tips on audio editing: - In the View menu of the editors, if you check Sync Visible Range, close the sidebars and have identical width of the editors then the playhead position and range will be aligned in all editors, like this: i.ibb.co/q9WLyV0/sync-editors2.gif - In the View menu, if Show F-Curves is selected, the fades and keyframed curves will be drawn op top of the strips in the vse. - The fade curves can be edited in the curve editor. - The keyframed curved can also be drawn directly on top of the vse strips by using this add-on: github.com/snuq/VSEQF like this: github.com/snuq/VSEQF/raw/master/Manual/drawfcurve.gif
Hey I was hoping you could help me with something?? I want to sync the audio but the little playback button that looks like a clock isn't there (9:03.) It usedto be there but now it isn't. How do I get it back?? :)
OK, the little clock icon is the "Timeline" you can get that back if you just click on whatever icon is in its place and select "Timeline" The Playback button is just a drop down menu. There you will be able to select "Audio Scrubbing" I hope this helps.Let me know if you need any more help. 👍 😎
Thanks for this Tutorial, thanks for explaining why Things arent working the way they should like Hearing No audio. That is what I really really hate about Blender: often things dont work just out of the box. You have to tick at least one thing if not more to make it work as one would expect using that Tool. Soooo annoying!
You are right, Blender does need to streamline their work flow but as you work with other software packages you will realize that no one software is perfect. They all have their on problems even the high end software. Keep working in Blender and these will seem to be less and less. 😉
i for the life of me, cannot get the audio and framerate to sync up, and sometimes it does this stupid thing where the framerate goes really fast, even though i told it not to. how foes this happen? and w h y
Not sure what might be going on with your scene. Make sure that both audio and video are the same frame rate and if it does not work, try using the compositing features in Blender.
@@Learn2Animate due to wild stress and determination I figured out what was wrong. Yeah it was the frame rate and I was being an idiot, but thanks for responding anyways! imagine if I didn't solve it and I just suffered until you replied

Yes, it is still available in Blender 3.3 You have to open a Video Sequencer viewport and the add menu is there. Hope this helps.

Make sure it is a .MP3 or .WAV and the volume on your computer is turned up. Let me know if this helps 👍
