Absolutely sell them! Anything you’re unsure of, you can always sell next Christmas season. It is so lovely to see you so often again. Those of us OG myhousewifelife viewers are so happy to get to know you all over again!
Keep the 4 beautiful plates and EAT off them. It may seem a little sacrilegious but do it anyway! When my dad passed away I found a beautiful set of Spode plates/dishes in his house and decided that rather than pack them away for safety, I would use them and SEE them and touch them and love them. They bring me joy every day. My daughter broke one of them but that’s all ok. Life is short. Don’t save things for best 😉
You could use them to make Christmas gifts for teachers and friends. Put hot cocoa mix, some marshmallows with one of those cute spoons in the mugs and everyone will love them.
I've been in your shoes where I had an embarrassment of riches. Over the last twenty years, I consumed all of the things. The predicament of "do I sell or do I donate". I find that I'd much rather donate to a family instead of donate to a store, or even recoup some cash. even though they could buy it for extremely cheap price, i prefer to pass on the material things without expecting a return. A thankful family will be so grateful.
Jen, I’ve been watching you since you started on TH-cam and every Christmas when you would put out all of your decorations, I would think to myself how special you will make the holidays for your kids. So, while I understand wanting to de clutter (believe me, I do), I just think these are the years for you to use some of this stuff to decorate and make memories and a tradition for your kids to remember. What sweet memories I have of our holidays, including decor, not only at my childhood home, but the new memories we made for our daughter. It just made the holidays that much more magical. You already have ten years of YT videos for your children to cherish, I can’t help but wonder if they will watch them years from now. I’d love some of your items, I Pam donating bins of my own stuff!
I totally agree. I remember thinking how special it's going to be for her future kids with all the cute decorations she has, but now that she has kids she doesn't seem to want to bother.
Tip: to know how much things sell for search them on Ebay (like type in Williams Sonoma Christmas Spoons) then click the box in the column on the lest that says "Completed Items" The green numbers will tell you how much they actually sold for. This will tell you if they are worth selling. Your spoons for example sold for an average of $18 a set.
I know I'm definitely interested in buying some of the grouped items! I've enjoyed looking at these pieces through the years as you've vlogged for the holidays! can't wait to shop for them :)
If you take the garlic bulb that has started growing a plant it you can grow garlic for the next year. Usually plant them in fall and harvest the next fall.
When my Grandma taught me to make guacamole she said to add lime and salt until you taste it and say mmmmm. There does always seem to be that point where it is just right!
Some mugs I love I use to switch out pencil crayons for my daughter. I try to switch to the various seasons and it helps me use mugs I love and want to keep but give them a useful life
You can buy Cilantro in a little container that is partially freeze dried and stays good in the refrigerator for quite awhile. I only use it in small quantities as well.
In my family, the rule is: If you have stuff and want to use them, have them available. I have all of my kitchenware in the kitchen in my cupboards. Nothing gets stored away and that way everything gets used. If you put those seasonal mugs wrapped in boxes, will you ever actually use them? And I dont buy more than I can store in the kitchen. And yes maybe I dont have special fancy dinnerware for guests but also my family and friends are not the types of people that would care about fancy plates and crystal glasses
This is the content I’m here for! Love a declutter video! When you moved you kinda did a Minimalist Packing Party, just taking what you needed. Now you can see all your superfluous stuff more objectively. You were so lucky to be able to move home in that way and be able to deal with the extraneous stuff over an extended period of time. I’d definitely sell all your unwanted collectables, people seek out replacements all the time.
I just want to say that I am proud of you for being so honest with yourself about getting rid of things you don’t use. I have a hard time with that myself so I know how much strength that takes
Not sure if this is in the comments somewhere already, but I pull off the cilantro leaves and place it in a freezer bag flat and just pull off sections to add to dishes later when I'm cooking.
Can you show me how to make a cup of tea and coffee with the foaming milk. I think it would be so yummy (and more cost effective than buying a cup for $2)
Jen! I have to say it is an absolute delight to see you doing daily vlogs again, especially for the holidays. I do understand with 2 kids and major life transitions, adding daily vlogs to that would be very challenging. Please know i take great joy in watching your vlogs because i live in this country with no family nearby and over the years of watching you, somehow, you kind of feel like family. So as much as i (and so many others) enjoy your vlogs, please don’t hesitate to take a day off when you need without guilt because you deserve it, and we will always be here awaiting your return. Your wellness is important as well. Happy holidays!
I feel like life is less stressful with less “stuff”. No matter how cute or pretty they are. But that’s just me. My Christmas decorations are pretty minimal this year and I love it.
It’s adorable when you “open” the items that bring you joy! Yet, you are doing a good job of thinning your collection! Definitely, sell as much as you can and donate the rest! Good job of letting go! And knowing what is still joyful to you! Think of the memories they will bring to you and the kids!
That light zapper thing is AMAZING. It fixed three strings of lights for me. The bulb you plugged into the gun might not be bad. I stick that one back in first to check. Sometimes other bulbs are also out. Target sells this for $20
My son keeps telling me that time is a meaningless construct. Gotta love having a teenager around. As far as the “stuff” goes - decide if it’s worth your time to spend the energy to sell. Your time has value too!
I have been decluttering in a HUGE way (thanks to a local Upcycle FaceBook page -- it's been amazing!) but for some reason I keep buying new Christmas mugs. They don't seem to qualify as clutter. LOL
Jennifer, I loved your corner cabinet each time it was featured as well as your shelves; but everyone gets to the point that it is about managing inventory which represents time you would rather spend with your children. Keep a few for tested, pass on the rest! Fun to revisit the mugs!!
We used the same cookies for Santa plate for years (just one night a year! 😂) but now it is used as decor all Christmas season at my mom’s house. Such great memories. ☺️
I bought my daughter that Play-mobile 1.2.3 advent calendar 3 years ago, and every year at the end of the season I pack it back up in the Christmas book and activity bin. Both kids love it every year since. Probably one of my best Christmas purchases.
Yum, peach tea is my favourite!! For a while there, I was drinking it with milk and then whatever was left over in the mug would curdle. I didn't realize, there are actually instructions on the packaging that says not to add milk for that very reason! Lesson learned, though the curdling doesn't really happen while I'm drinking the tea, just with the leftovers at the bottom of the mug, so I do still use milk sometimes. Sorry if this comment was gross... curdle may now be my least favourite word, right up there with moist. ;)
I have the clear snowflake crate and barrel mugs, they are my favorite. Something about the clear ones that I love. I have the vintage PB Santa ones too, love.
So glad I found your channel. Love your thanksgiving and holiday videos so much! You are extremely knowledgeable in every single thing from cooking to home decor to repairing things..thank you so much for sharing all your tips and tricks
I would 100% try and sell the collectible stuff, who knows, it could make someones day who is looking for them - also a win for you to get some of your money back!
Everything is so beautiful and wonderful keepsakes as well. If you sell the Christmas spoon ornaments I would love to purchase. They would be a wonderful addition to our first home 🏡 come 2021. Love love 💗
You could sell but you would also have to weigh in shipping costs? My in-laws had such lovely collectable glassware and artwork and made barely anything selling them. They were so disappointed. It wasn't worth their time.
Selling collectibles is hit or miss. When I was trying to sell some of mine a few years ago, I ended up just donating them. I would do some research to see if they are listed on Etsy or eBay & if they're just sitting there or actively selling. Good luck!
Donate them. You don't need the extra money and surely someone less fortunate would appreciate them. Also, this is a good time to reflect and try to reduce your carbon footprint by buying less. You can't change the past, but you can change your future and make the planet a better place for your children.
There are people hurting right now. People are standing in bread lines. A charity would benefit from her donations. And they would be very appreciative. I can't think of a more selfless thing to do than to give to a charity. It's a bit late in the season to sell this stuff now. Giving to a charity would provide quicker results.
@Carol Burns You do understand how charity works, right? Maybe you don't, so I will give you the benefit of a doubt. Sometimes it's in the form of money. Sometimes it's in the form of donating an item to a family. If you are going to eye roll over the suggestion of a charitable contribution, I don't know what to say. May your heart be opened to charity in the future. So many people need our help right now. An eye roll doesn't help them.
Even though the spoons are a “one run”, the sheer fact that you have a whole curated collection of them, you should definitely sell them. If you sell them as a lot or bundle, and advertise it as a curation, you can sell for a decent price and someone will surely get it. I’m a buyer in that way... the cost will be worth it if it is a complete set or if the collecting has been done for me and it’s a great foundation to start collecting into the future, if that makes sense.
After u sell u have to pack and ship.. big pain, even worse with out original boxes/packaging. Put everything back in storage or donate in one fell sloop... me, I keep everything... I get stuff becuz I like it or want it. Good luck!
I think you should definitely sell some of this. However, that’s quite a daunting task! What if you hired a college student or something to manage it? You could pay them a percentage of the sale price? Just an idea!!
My last trip to the Stuff Donation place (as I call it), they had a dumpster (it was tractor trailer sized) over full of what looked like perfectly good stuff (with piles of more stuff just sitting out in the rain). I've heard similar stories from other people. With the pandemic, sales have dropped. But, with everyone home and decluttering, donations are up. Many places have no choice but to throw a lot of it away. Consequently, many folks have taken to offering their things up for freecycle via Facebook, etc. if they are not selling it. I love both sides of the thrift cycle, so it just bums me out.
Love, love declutter videos! I feel the lightness FOR you. Are there any decent online consigners near you that would sell and ship on your behalf for a percentage of profit?
I would sell the mugs and spoons. There could be someone out there that has maybe just the mugs or the spoons and wants the other. Or they just like to collect them or would like them. You can sell all the stuff you don't want or need anymore. I do through a fb in your area. Stuff goes really fast this time of the year. I am excited to see what you listed on instagram. I will have to head over and check it out.
I miss seeing your lovely dishes you used to use for christmas. Was it Lenox? Do you still have it? I think those are lovely! I am so happy you are doing vlogmas :)
Sell, donate, or give away to family/friends. I definitely agree there’s no point hanging onto to stuff you haven’t used or can’t foresee using soon. Minimizing is so freeing! You’ll appreciate what you do keep even more.
cilantro preservation suggestion: pulse what's remaining in a food processor or with a food chopper, pack in ice cube tray compartments and then top off each one with water, freeze them, then pop them out and store the the little cilantro ice cubes in the freezer in a tupperware container. when you need cilantro in the future, thaw however many you need, squeeze the water out and throw them in your recipe!
Good for you. There’s only so much holiday stuff anyone needs. . Everything is cute. Everything is nice. But once you have too much, it becomes clutter and takes away rather than adds. If you want to sell stuff, you can take a look at EBay to see what dishware is going for. I doubt you’ll get much for the Target mugs, but the Crate and Barrel and other name stuff
Jen what is that behid you in end of the video its looks like ipad but its not i gess its for weather ? What is the beand...i LOVE your choices 🤷🏼♀️😄🧿🙏
Jen, definitely try to sell your items. The people who are trying to complete a collection might not locate them where you would donate them. If after a reasonable amount of time they don’t sell then you might want to donate them. Keep those beautiful plates😀 I love the old fashioned Santa plates in the last bin. If you decide to sell them I might be interested.
Jen, u dont need to get rid all this year. Later on you may regret, no hurry if you have 2nd thoughts. Keep those you love but moving forward stop buying. I have admired your Christmas collection since I watched your channel and I feel you should keep them for your children.
Happy Vlogmas! If I may share some ideas in how to use cilantro. I use it in stir fry and I add it to my salsas. BUT my favorite way to use it is in my beans. When I cook beans, I put some of the sprigs of cilantro and leave it in there while my beans are cooking. Especially in my lentils yum. It just gives it soo much flavor.
Tip on avocados, purchase while hard, leave on counter until top is soft when pressed, then refrigerate. They last for a long time in the fridge. I’ve kept up to 7-8 in the fridge, all turn out perfect. IThere’s actually gene involved, in liking or disliking cilantro.
Absolutely sell them! Anything you’re unsure of, you can always sell next Christmas season. It is so lovely to see you so often again. Those of us OG myhousewifelife viewers are so happy to get to know you all over again!
But instead of daily hauls we're getting daily UNhauls! It's great! :)
Agree it's good to see her happier
Sell everything whatever hasn’t sold by end of December donate..... start the new year off fresh and light
Great advice!
This is a great idea!
I agree 100%
Keep the 4 beautiful plates and EAT off them. It may seem a little sacrilegious but do it anyway! You could use them to make Christmas gifts for teachers and friends. Put hot cocoa mix, some marshmallows with one of those cute spoons in the mugs and everyone will love them.
Try selling as much as you can! Donate what no one ends up buying.
Especially if you have the original packaging! I really think that helps things sell.
Sell....you could use the money to pick 2 kids the ages of your own and gift them a merrier Christmas 🎄
Sell what you can and, like I'm sure others have commented, a women's shelter would love such a blessing.
I definitely think you should sell the stuffEspecially with being collectible or sets
Jen, I’ve been watching you since you started on TH-cam and every Christmas when you would put out all of your decorations, I would think to myself how special you will make the holidays for your kids. what you keep you can put to daily use. when advent starts i change out all our plates and mugs, so we use those for the month.
I know I'm definitely interested in buying some of the grouped items! I've enjoyed looking at these pieces through the years as you've vlogged for the holidays! can't wait to shop for them :)

Indeed! 🥑
Love that you could fix your lights - what a cool tool!
Some mugs I love I use to switch out pencil crayons for my daughter. I try to switch to the various seasons and it helps me use mugs I love and want to keep but give them a useful life
Ahh Burleigh! That’s stoneware from Staffordshire in the Midlands! My county ❤️
Mine too ! Happy Christmas ! X
Are burleigh still going Natalie?
They were two years ago. I lived in BHX. The Prince’s Trust rescued it. I loved going up to visit the potteries.
Me too 🥰
Those plates.... oh my gosh. Divine. Would deadset use them every day.

When you took out those 2011 target mugs I got the biggest smile on my face. Pretty sure I remember seeing them in a lot of your videos back then! Lol
Please sell whatever you don’t want to keep!! Those Burleigh plates I’m drooling over!
That light zapper thing is AMAZING. It fixed three strings of lights for me.
The bulb you plugged into the gun might not be bad. I stick that one back in first to check. Sometimes other bulbs are also out.
Target sells this for $20
Keep I know exactly how you feel about starting a “new” chapter in life but keep even if store in attic/basement
My son keeps telling me that time is a meaningless construct. Gotta love having a teenager around.
As far as the “stuff” goes - decide if it’s worth your time to spend the energy to sell. Your time has value too!
This is soooo true ! I got so tired of ppl not showing up from FB market that I donate 99 % of stuff now b:c it’s just not worth it to me anymore.
Agreed! I donate everything. Can’t be bothered with the hassle, especially during a pandemic.
I have been decluttering in a HUGE way (thanks to a local Upcycle FaceBook page -- it's been amazing!) but for some reason I keep buying new Christmas mugs. They don't seem to qualify as clutter. LOL

Oh gosh, the metal fork stirring in that metal bowl... how?!.. does that not cringe anyone else? Like nails on a chalkboard.
Lol!
For enchiladas with littles, we love doing a casserole (layered like Lasagna), and then it’s easy to cut to size and serve! Also freezes so well!!
We feel the same about cilantro! It’s too big of a bunch. We started buying the tube of cilantro “paste” to add to things instead.
So glad I found your channel. Love your thanksgiving and holiday videos so much! You are extremely knowledgeable in every single thing from cooking to home decor to repairing things..thank you so much for sharing all your tips and tricks
Love watching your looks of surprise as you go through your stuff! I have done that before-I was a former shopper as well.
Those Twilight Passage plate were gorgeous. I would use them everyday! Hope they found a good home!
I would totally keep the Burley plates from Williams-Sonan. They are gorgeous and you could find extras, I'm sure!
Jen, I Remember when you had all the things In your kitchen. I just loved them. You could sell it all.
Instead of a fork when mashing the guac, try a pastry blender tool! It is life changing! Love your videos! Happy to see you and the kiddos doing well!
Love love 💗
I've just checked, and those Burleigh (pronounced "burlee")Twilight Passage Plates are selling for approx £15 EACH here in the UK xxx
You can freeze cilantro freshly cleaned and dried , you use it the same just it doesn’t look nice but mixed in it’s not noticeable :)
I want the Santa plates and mugs from the last bin you opened! Love them!
Good luck!
Love sitting down to my lunch and watching your vlogmas :) Thank you for bringing a bit of joy to my day!
I think you should definitely sell some of this. However, that’s quite a daunting task! What if you hired a college student or something to manage it? You could pay them a percentage of the sale price? Just an idea!!
Consignment store?.. or you have to wrap and ship it all out! 😉🎄👍
I would keep the burley plates they maybe worth something as I dont know if the factory is still here in the uk.
It is. The Prince’s Trust rescued it. www.burleigh.co.uk/
Pack it up and get it out of the house. Donate it. It will make you feel better having less stuff and make someone else's day when they find it.
Oh my gosh. That tea pot!!!!! I would love that!!!
Definitely sell. Hahaha I see a theme here...Jenn loves snowmen ⛄️
I really like the tea pot and mugs. If you decide to sell it I might be interested.
I love the tea pot and mugs!! Would buy if you listed it!
I haven’t started but you should keep the ones from that German event you go to
The amount of kitchen decorations you have is all the decorations I have for all seasons! :P LOL! I only decorate for Christmas though :P
The ones that are not in arigional boxes you could always use as give aways for the stuff you don't want. Just an idea.
My last trip to the Stuff Donation place (as I call it), they had a dumpster (it was tractor trailer sized) over full of what looked like perfectly good stuff (with piles of more stuff just sitting out in the rain). Love, love declutter videos! I feel the lightness FOR you. Are there any decent online consigners near you that would sell and ship on your behalf for a percentage of profit?
I want to go shopping in your Christmas decor lol
Have you sold the spoons?
I want to buy the spoon sets 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Definitely sell! You have such good quality things that you keep in great shape. Someone else can purchase and enjoy them as you did. 😊
At minute 7:38, plate rack??? 🤷🏻♀️
I love all your advent calendars! I love the tea ones I love tea so much! Fun!
I had no idea I could be so riveted by someone going through their own tubs but here I am. Loving this Vlogmas!
SELL! I would buy those gorgeous toile looking made in England plates ( or maybe keep those lol they are stunning!) And now I want guacamole yuummm...
Wohoo... Love those mugs.... Every vlog is different, such great content and gives me so many ideas to include with my family..
I miss seeing your lovely dishes you used to use for christmas. Was it Lenox? Do you still have it? I think those are lovely!
I am so happy you are doing vlogmas :)
the stuff you love and would like to keep you can use as an every day thing during the holidays. Start a new tradition that way.
I bet you could sell them. Someone will be delighted to get them, that's cute stuff someone will appreciate!
U have very great Jen in collecting unfortunately I stay in Middle East not accessible to reach the stuff
Sell, donate, or give away to family/friends. I definitely agree there’s no point hanging onto to stuff you haven’t used or can’t foresee using soon. Minimizing is so freeing! You’ll appreciate what you do keep even more.
This video just gives me the warm fuzzy feelings I was looking for this season
cilantro preservation suggestion: pulse what's remaining in a food processor or with a food chopper, pack in ice cube tray compartments and then top off each one with water, freeze them, then pop them out and store the the little cilantro ice cubes in the freezer in a tupperware container. when you need cilantro in the future, thaw however many you need, squeeze the water out and throw them in your recipe!
I absolutely ADORE the Williams Sonoma Twilight Passage plates!! 😍👌🏻 If you do choose to sell please let me know!! ❤️
As a preschool teacher for ten years, I have accumulated 178 mugs.
I’ll bet! ☕️
Wow hahah!
Loving your Vlogmas!! Are you doing December Daily this year? Would love to see some of your process in your videos ❤️
Lol I have the same stools up against my island. Btw you can freeze cilantro. 🥰👋👍🇨🇦
I'd buy the spoons in a minute!!!! Do you have a Poshmark?
Tip on avocados, purchase while hard, leave on counter until top is soft when pressed, then refrigerate. They last for a long time in the fridge. I’ve kept up to 7-8 in the fridge, all turn out perfect.
IThere’s actually gene involved, in liking or disliking cilantro.
