It is such a blessing that you and Don's family are still getting along and that they understand that you are all still family. The family of my STBX have completely excluded me from their lives after 28 years of sharing everything. This has not gone unnoticed by my 15-year-old. It only furthers her feelings of loss. It is harder when adults can't seem to think of the children first in these situations. Your children are very blessed!
Kudos to you! 15 days done and right on time everyday... Thank you Jennifer. Not sure how fun errand running is for you, but it is super fun for us to watch!! Hauls are a cherry on the top :P
Don't mess with the dryer yourself. Get someone in to look at it. It could be something small like plugged ducks or a belt off. But it could start a fire
There is something about you now I don't know what it is but I really like the self-growth that comes out of you. Your an amazing mom those two babies are lucky to have you as a mom.
Jen, if Don’s family still consider you family, they clearly don’t have a problem with it, and frankly it’s between you and them and no one else’s business. You need to live your life and do what is good for you and the littles. I’m just grateful for what you are willing and comfortable sharing with us. By the way, loved seeing you iron and having a laundry chat. 😀
I LOVE to Iron! Once a week I set my board up bring all the clothes out and put a movie on. I think if you used a large standard Ironing board you could get more of the item ironed. I am old enough to have taken Home Ec. in high school and They actually taught one how to Iron efficiently.
Jen - I LOVE THIS! I actually love to iron! (Those pillowcases would be easier if you turned them inside out for that portion!) You are seriously a bright spot in the day, and I don't care about labels! Keep doing you!
I look forward to your vlogs so much! Such lovely calming content- you’re so different to lots of other vloggers out there. So thankful for you!! :) xxx
I HATE ironing and avoid it at all costs! I think it’s the multi-tasking thing too and I never thought of that before! Grove makes a great wrinkle release spray, if you’ve never tried it it does help.
I recently had a similar problem with my new dryer and it turned out that the heat sensor wasn't functioning. Since it was under warranty it didn't cost anything to be repaired and didn't take the technician long to fix at all. Could also be that the vent may be blocked. Definitely get it checked out though!
My chimney sweep also cleans my dryer vents. You can call your local Home Depot and have them suggest a repair person for mechanical issues. If the dryer is not hot inside after it has been running it likely needs a repair, not just a vent cleaning.
Girlfriend!! That is some REAL talk right there in the last 5 minutes!! I am the SAME WAY!! Every time I am away from my son - his smile is like Christmas morning all over again when I see him. It is just THE BEST feeling!! ....and the rest of the world melts away!! As far as the dryer issue - here in TX we have the ability to purchase a 1 yr home warranty on the appliance that come with the home. Not sure if this is offered in IL, but just thought I'd mention it and you could inquire with your RE agent about it if its not too late. Otherwise I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if they have a local recommendation for repairs.
I’m sure someone has advised you this already. I just replaced my 10-yr-old dryer for the same problem you have (tho you likely don’t need to replace yours - mine was just on its umpty-umpth issue). It’s probably the heating element and may also be the thermostat. A technician can help. If your dryer is as new as you think it is, maybe the previous owners registered it and it’s under warranty. Otherwise, could you use the dryer at the old house or swap the laundry machine sets? If you liked your previous set, that might be the best solution.
I really enjoyed this vlog, Jen. You seem far more relaxed and more like yourself. I also enjoyed the laundry talk. You seemed so natural and like you were talking to friends, which I can relate to. Enjoy the rest of your day with your sweet children. Xo
Hi! It could be your dryer vent is clogged. We experienced that when our brand new dryer wasn’t drying properly. After having the vent cleaned, it’s working like a champ thank God!!
I’m just now catching up on your vlogs. Have you gotten your dryer fixed yet? We had this issue with our old Samsung and it was the heating element. You can likely Google any dryer repairman but also you can buy the heating element and replace it yourself. Amazon sells them and my husband used TH-cam Tina how him how to fix it.
When you bought your house did you get homeowners insurance from the previous owner? If so you could call that number and they will come and look at the dryer. It may coast 75.00. And they will fix it or replace the dryer if they can’t fix. We have this and it’s good for the first year.
Our dryer in our new house, started malfunctioning a month or two after we moved in... similar situation, definitely a newer dryer so I hated the thought of replacing it. I googled the brands’ (Samsung) service department & it was pretty easy to follow the steps (like entering in your particular dryers’ model number & such) to schedule a service technician. We got scheduled that same day, the whole thing was completed within a week, & it was much cheaper than replacing the whole dryer.
We LOVE our purple mattress and pillows! And I totally get what you mean about upgrading your kids later. I have a 4 and 2 year old and they will likely get one when they are bigger.
As much as I love and cherish my son, and love being a SAHM with him, I do appreciate the break. I think it would be nice to have a regular break with the other parent so you can go do your chores, errands, and appointments without having to figure out how to wrangle the kids. A little space and detox from being “touched-out” is nice sometimes.
One time when our old dryer stopped working it was that the belt had gotten worn out. Lee fixed it himself. My mother upgraded here so we got our old one. I prefer it because when Lee fixed the other one he had to remove the part that tells you what the setting is. When Daniel gets congested he will pick his nose which makes it bleed. Then when when the blood dried up it would further block his airway. That's what he gets on his pillow cases. The most comfortable surface I've slept on is Dad's (Lee's) futon. Need to get something for our house. The option I found doesn't have springs. Great since Daniel prematurely ruins them by constantly jumping on them. I haven't had to iron anything for years. Most of our clothing and household linens doesn't wrinkle. For the few that do I just get them out while they are hot and smooth them out by hand.
Well I like your ironing chat, it's good to talk bout stuff & get things off your chest , even while ironing , it takes thought away of doing something you not fond of , & before you know it , your on the last item, though I saw a comment before bout ironing board size , I agree with that person , think you need a full size 1 , 😊 hope there's more ironing chats videos to see , you all should set up a little group 😊
In case you haven't already learned, those siete tortillas are awesome but there is a learning curve to them. I find that I have to heat them much longer than the package says to make them pliable. Prob about 30 secs each side, sometimes I just let it go even longer. Then stuff and wrap as fast as possible to keep it cooling down! It is not at all pliable unless it is very warm.
It could be the heating element on the dryer. It’s an easy fix... my husband has replaced a couple on our dryer. If you’re up for it... but I would start with an appliance repair guy... ❤️
Same was happening to our dryer where it would take forever to dry clothes. We called Sears to clean the duct. It was clogged with lint despite my clearing lint after each use. Since, then its been great and we get it cleaned twice a year.
You can use a shop vac to vacuum your own vents: in the dryer, and the one in your house. Probably a heating element issue though so I'd call wherever you would buy one from and see if they can come out and fix it, or recommend someone to call. 💜 (Mommy of 4 over here, we have been through our share of dryer issues. The appliance delivery & repair truck beeps when they drive by. 😳)
Call the manufacturer of the dryer then ask them . Make sure to keep the dryer hose in back if u have one lint free in and outside, it’s a fire hazard if not cleaned.
1. My husband likes the blue tone lights and it drives me crazy. I prefer the yellow tone (white lights with warm tone as opposed to cool) 2. Siete VEGAN NACHO CHEESE is LIFE 🙌 3. My aunt will always be my aunt, though she hasn’t been married to my uncle for the better part of 20 years. 4. I do not know what I will do when you stop vlogging. I’ve been a fan for 9 years (maybe more? I’m bad at guessing but revisited some older ones recently and we go back a ways!). I love your evolution as a human. I’ve enjoyed every step of the way though. Thanks for sharing your life Jen. It’s a delight to be able to enjoy!
Your dryer was on 'eco dry' (one of the options on the right) and this basically makes it air drying with no heat and it takes way longer to be done. Not sure about the sound though.
Regarding the dryer, look up a smaller local appliance store in your area, they likely have a repair person on-staff or have someone who they recommend that they trust & use.
My dryer stopped drying 2 weeks ago also. My husband said it was an easy fix and ordered the part from amazon. It now works great. If I where you look up dryer repair and get it fixed, it’s not worth the headache of trying to air dry your clothes.
Call for a repair person for your dryer... its a pretty easy fix but for those of us that have never done it can be complicated. Loved your ironing tea talk 👍
If your dryer is not drying in a reasonable amount of time, your ducts are probably full of lint. Our dryer was taking me 2 hours to dry towels or heavy things like jeans. I had a chimney sweep come out and clean them. We have an interior laundry room and there was probably 30 feet of ductwork to lead to the outside and OMG, the amount that came out! That is a fire hazard as well. I should really have my ducts cleaned again. I think every 2 years they should be done.
The person who bought my old house earlier this year is so nice and asked to be FB friends. We’ve had to message each other a few times about mail/packages. She’s so pleasant that it was nice to stop by my old house to pick up things and chat with her. Fun fact: we actually sold my house through FB. She randomly asked about houses for sale in a FB group and my house was about to go up for sale.
Lol - ironic how you hate labels (for people) but love labeling your stuff ;). Also, my kids are in jr high and still argue about that corner couch spot!
My husband recently replaced the heating element on my sister’s dryer, and hers had actually overheated and he said it could have caused a fire so not to worry but like it’s not a bad idea to look into this sooner than later
This might help: I'd try to see if you can find out where the dryer was purchased from. If its only a year old its probably under a manufacturer warranty or another you might be eligible to partake in. if you can't find out where it was purchased, call the manufacturer. Happy Holidays!
If the dryer isn't getting hot inside its probably not the vents, but the actual dryer. Whatever brand you have, they may have repair people. I used GE repair before on my fridge. Otherwise, look for appliance repair. Also, google your model and "not drying" because there might be a known issue and probably a youtube video to repair :)
Y’all are family forever. People on the internet are weird. Check the with the warranty people even though it’s not covered they may have information on someone to call you might be able to add an extended warranty
I would troubleshoot your particular dryer. Type the model number and “no heat” and something will come up. Could be an easy fix. I have been able to fix two dryers this way myself with a $12 part and a screwdriver.
I ordered linen sheets from Treasure & Bond/Nordstrom and they are the best purchase I’ve made. Expensive but well worth it. Loving these Vlogs soooo much😊
If you bought a home warranty when you bought the house, this appliance will be covered. Also, as a firefighter....dryers are next to kitchen in amount of fires! 🔥 Do get it checked....if all fails....time for a new dryer for a Christmas present:)
LOL!!! At them fighting over the same spot at the end. I have 2 shih Tzus and they are the same way....just like kids. Wanna play with the same toy, can’t pet one, without the other wanting some attention as well🤣🤣🤣 I have the Frozen sheets from PB kids, (Olaf and Sven version) and yes!!! They come out the dryer, so darn wrinkled!!!🤣🤣🤣 you’re doing great with vlogmas.
Look up dryer duct cleaning. Have that done first. If the dryer was sold with the house is there a home warranty? It should be covered under that to have repaired. If it’s Samsung their appliances are terrible and there’s a FB group to help get refunds for their defective products.
We just say sis in law, mother in law etc. that never changes in my family. That’s how my heart will always see them so that’s what I will do. Do what is natural for you and feels right and everyone else can call their people what they want! My mom always referred to my grandma( dads mom) her mother in law after they divorced bc to her she’s not ex anything.
For the dryer - I would call your local Lowe’s or Home Depot and ask them if they have a repair service department for washer/dryers, or any recommendations for people in your area. You can also explain what’s happening with the dryer and they might know exactly what needs to be done to fix it.
We have Pottery Barn kids sheets and they wrinkle exactly like those do. It drives me batty when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to iron the parts that show.
I got the Purple 3 in August and love it! If you have a Mattress Firm store near you, you might want to consider stopping by and trying them out and seeing if a Purple is right for you.
You can find an 8oo number of Maytag or whatever brand the machine is and they should know what to tell you to do, if they can send someone or if they know someone in your area that does that sort of thing. Also, look on facebook in a group that may have people in it that list services provided in your area. I started a group "Services Provided in Logan County." where I live and people list their beauty shops, their skills, buidling, carpentry, applicances repair, etc. Also people list what they do in the for sale groups in my area so check those things out. Wishing you good luck.
I watch TH-cam videos when I iron! 😊 Also, when I have a problem with a large appliance, I call the company's customer service department. Customer service often has a directory of who, in your area, is an "authorized" repair center. You can then call the authorized repair center and schedule an appointment for a technician to come to your home. Authorized repair centers are often knowledge about your appliance. They also often carry parts for your appliance and/or can readily get the part(s) from the manufacturer. I've found this to be an effective approach to getting a large appliance repaired quickly & effectively.
Hi Jen, get in touch with the machine's manufacturer normally there's a sticker on the machine for a number to call or check if you still have the manual otherwise it's probably best to go online and check information such as warranty etc. they will look up information about the machine and provide/refer you to a local repair place associated with them and have a person come out and look at it and go from there. You just need to start somewhere and it will all be taken care of.
If your dryer is actually heating but just taking FOREVER to dry, you very likely just need to get the ducts cleaned. We did it ourselves with a $20 tool from Home Depot. I had NO idea how much lint can clog up a dryer vent!! Nothing at all wrong with my dryer just 20 years of built up lint (oops! Lol) agree with those who suggested to have it checked. Im thankful our didn't start a fire with how bad the blockage was.
If you purchased a home warranty when you bought your home check to see if that is covered under the home warranty if you purchased one. I know we had issues with our heater and air conditioner after we purchased a home for about a month and that was covered under the home warranty that we paid extra for.
My favorite label I heard for a divorce was "Was-band" instead of husband! Love it because I don't think it carries a negative connection for kids. Just thought I'd share in care you never heard 😊
We just had an appliance repair man out to fix our dryer for the same thing! So worth it! It rattled and stopped drying. There was the temp thing that went out plus something else had to be replaced. Cost us about $300
Call the dryer manufacturer. It should be under warranty and they will know this as soon as you tell the the dryer’s model and serial number. I recommend doing this right away since it may be a fire hazard. Good luck 😉
Is that a magnetic coil charging cable? Can I ask what brand it is, where you ordered it from, and if you like it? I’m trying to find one for my dad’s Christmas present, but am having a hard time finding one I trust is good quality online. Thanks!!
I also think it’s important to teach kids to not be so dependent on items, though. (Regarding the stuffed animals.) I’ve only ever had one favorite bear growing up and I just got used to not having him all the time and understood the need to clean him, etc. 🤷🏻♀️
We had a local appliance repair company come out and look at ours. That’s where I would start. If the ducts need to be cleaned, they would probably have a recommendation for you. 😉
Loved this! You seem so much more comfortable in your own skin and it is a joy to watch. What did you wind up ordering out for dinner? Sometimes I get so stuck as to what to order for cozy evenings. I feel like it's the same old same old in reference to the choices.
might be a heating coil/element. Call repair man, look under appliance repair and I would also call a vent - ductwork cleaner. Who know when those were blown out. Appliance repair can tell you if you if it is worth fixing or replace it. Dryers #1 cause of housefires. Never run it at night while sleeping or not at home.
I’m so impressed with how well you fold your fitted sheets! I just wash sheets and put them right back on the bed! Lol 😂
There is something about you now I don't know what it is but I really like the self-growth that comes out of you. Your an amazing mom those two babies are lucky to have you as a mom.
My “former sister-in-law” will always be my sister-in-law/sister. When there are kids, you are always related in some way.
Jen, if Don’s family still consider you family, they clearly don’t have a problem with it, and frankly it’s between you and them and no one else’s business. Ooh good tip! Thanks
Have someone come out and clean the vents, ours wasn’t drying and we found a sock blocking the vent.
My husband bought me linen sheets for my birthday and they are the best thing ever. I love them so much.
Loving all of the Vlogmas content as well!! So inspiring and motivating. I am a long long time follower and look forward to your uploads :)

Hi Jen! I loved this vlog. Chit chats about real life, daily Mom duties. ❤️ Happy Holidays.
Yes jersey sheets are the best !
I don’t iron sheets even if wrinkled 😮😄
Enjoyed your vlog Jen. 😊
Enjoying vlogmas ! 🎄🌠I feel like when I go walking, as well as do laundry, I can get through a lot of thoughts. Really work stuff out!
I always iron my pillowcases and top sheet. It makes them so much comfier and softer. And yes the wrinkle thing drives me nuts too.
This was so soothing. Thank you for sharing your life with us. 🎄
Purple mattresses are amazing! 💯 I will have to checkout the Parachute sheets.
I really enjoy your channel. You're like a long distance friend.

I used to love to iron in college. I’m not sure why. But I would iron all my clothes. That ended a long time ago!
You can call the dryer company to see it’s under warranty that can help.
You and your time crunches! You always get it done! Thanks for the hard work you do for vlogmas!
Call the manufacturer of the dryer then ask them . Make sure to keep the dryer hose in back if u have one lint free in and outside, it’s a fire hazard if not cleaned.
I first learned how to iron on pillowcases🤗

OK I’m super excited I just order two sets of the sheets you were talking about. One of my favorite other sheet companies is Peacock Alley.
If you bought a home warranty when you bought the house, this appliance will be covered. Also, as a firefighter....dryers are next to kitchen in amount of fires! 🔥 Do get it checked....if all fails....time for a new dryer for a Christmas present:)
You can listen to music and sing or listen to podcasts or an audiobook while you iron.
My mom always referred to my grandma( dads mom) her mother in law after they divorced bc to her she’s not ex anything.
there are appliance repair people in your area. You can google for repair company that services brand of your dryer. Quite simple, really.
For the dryer - I would call your local Lowe’s or Home Depot and ask them if they have a repair service department for washer/dryers, or any recommendations for people in your area. You can also explain what’s happening with the dryer and they might know exactly what needs to be done to fix it.
We continue using sister and brother in laws. It’s the same to the kids and they are what matters.
Ex-sister-in-law=kid’s aunt? But idc lol
We have Pottery Barn kids sheets and they wrinkle exactly like those do. It drives me batty when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to iron the parts that show.
Great chit chat vlog! Often wondered about the purple mattress. Need a new one but just don’t know what to get.
I would look up the general number for the maker of the dryer. They will farm out the job to a local person. May under a warranty or recall. 😊
Or they may help you trouble shoot!
Hi everyone! I can't wait to see the grocery haul!!! :)
I haven’t heard that one before! Love it 😉
We just had an appliance repair man out to fix our dryer for the same thing! So worth it! It rattled and stopped drying. There was the temp thing that went out plus something else had to be replaced. Cost us about $300
I’m completely with you I like yellow-toned lights instead of blue-toned.
Thanks!!
The rattling might be a broken belt. It happened with our dryer several times.
I have always ironed my pillow cases, I could never sleep on them without doing that.
Thank you so much for your blogs. You are such a joy to watch 💜
Have you tried the wrinkle guard fabric softener it works wonders
might be a heating coil/element. Call repair man, look under appliance repair and I would also call a vent - ductwork cleaner. Who know when those were blown out. Appliance repair can tell you if you if it is worth fixing or replace it. Dryers #1 cause of housefires. Never run it at night while sleeping or not at home.
