Karen, I ❤ your videos. They are so helpful.
Dehydration / poor diet / excessive sugar were the culprits for me. I got blood work last week, and I have been "scared straight".
Did u know sugary cola/fast food is not good for the body (sarcasm) 😅 and, of course, hair growth.
Drinking lots of water and eating better since my wake up call.

Great video!💜 I noticed that the longer my hair got the bigger the ball of shed hair grew. At first, I thought I was shedding a lot more. As I checked the strands almost all of them had the white bulb on the end. It took me a while to connect the dots and realize that I wasn't shedding more, but the shed strands were just way longer so the ball looked like more hair.🤣🤣

Also use a lot of rose oil, rose absolute oil, rose hip seed oil, and grape-seed oil . Use a lot of aloe vera. They are gentle. Good for aging. Good and healing for sensitive skin.

Not only check your iron, get you ferritin level checked too ! Very important. My iron levels are ok but my ferritin is low. My hair is falling out for several months now. I've been eating more red meat and noticed a difference in the amount of hair im losing.

I will try the green tea rinse.
Looks like my hair is breaking and shedding.
    I am not under stress.
I've had all of my vitamin levels tested.
    All normal.
I'm on medication so my thyroids are under control.
However. I do have Graves disease.
My thyroid doctor sent me to a specialist. He said it was not my thyroids since they are back to normal.
The specialist told me the problem is genetics an age related.
    What do you think??
    I'm over 65.
How do I know if it's protein deficiency or protein overload?
    Thks!

Hi Karen! Another lovely, informative video. I'm still praying and trying to grow out my twa. Many people can see the difference, but I'm in a hurry to get to the shoulder length stage. And I do stress A LOT! I'm the caretaker of my brother and pay all the bills! Lol. Also after I wash and condition my hair, it seems to shrink up a bit, then it looks like it's broken off. Then as the week goes on, it puffs out again. Our mom taught us the importance of meditation, but I seldom do it. I better get into that! And how can I get your hair growth drops? They sound awesome. And you are awesome! And I want to thank all the other viewers who prayed for me and their kind words! ♥️♥️♥️

I know you have stated you are a trichologist and your hair in the past has been nicer than I’ve ever experienced. But just throwing this out there:
I had a bald spot at top of my head for 15 years. I’m tall and guessing lack of blood flow. I put lanolin on that area and the bald spot grew back hair. I was about 45 at the time. I’m now 63 and I cut the lanolin with orchid oil and whatever carrier oil I’m using to desired consistency. Orchid oil is good for damaged and aging hair and scalp. I’ve had success with areas that seem to be lessened because of age. Also all commercial hair products make my scalp itch. If it’s all, guessing because of preservatives or other chemicals not normally included in nature in that particular fruit or oil.

Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for sharing with me! Although I am trichologist, I am open to LEARNING as well! And I absolutely love hearing hair regrowth testimonies so thank you for sharing. I will most definitely look up the benefits of orchid oil -- I haven't researched that as much, but looking forward to it! Karen have you thought about doing a podcast and having different experts in the natural hair community to do collaborations with?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hey Lyna! The exogen stage is actually the stage after the telogen stage when the hair actually exits. There aren’t many pictures that show this stage which is why I didn’t mention the phase specifically but noted the release or exit the strand. I will be sure to articulate that the next time I discuss the phases of growth,
You know what - I’ve been working on taking a collaborative approach to education dissementation. I hadn’t thought about the podcast but I think tha may be my answer 🙌🏾 Thank

I was wondering, can tender headedness be "cured" ?if we want to have those cute and trendy styles. (once in a while) how can we prepare ourselves to not die on someone's chair.. or at least not have a reputation as that grown person bawling their eyes out after getting their hair did.

    • @KarenofCurlHouse

Hey there! Tenderness - it can be typically at a young age but with age and you still deal with it - everyone scalp is different. Your scalp may just be sensitive and that’s ok. however it’s important to find a style who is “gentle” and mindful of your tender scalp. There are some out of there!

Natural hair also seems very hard to take care of. The week when I was so depressed, I almost decided to go back to getting relaxers. I really had to talk myself out of that. The relaxers had begun to thin my hair out more and more, and I was trying to bald at the temples. And, those chemicals burn!!!

@luwanabennett1054 - I know your pain. I had the same reason for going natural in 2016. The transition stage was great then I took to YT and became a product junkie. Most of the things I purchased did not work for my hair and I was frustrated. I have learned to love my hair even when she does me wrong and my twist out is jacked up. 😁😂🤔 I went back to what I used to do when I was a teen. Some products, okay most products no longer exist, but I am using simple methods and products instead of new trends. You will get there. Don't give up! You got this!❤
