During the 80's and 90's, I went camping with my family and kids using a Coleman Cooler just like that one. It served us well. Nice to see it again. All our food was in that one precious cooler! Fresh Ice daily. Love the live edge wood slab shelves. Heavy, but they look so lovely. The simple cabinet with desk is so functional and has a clean design. The bed looks very spacious and comfy. Note that if you don't put holes in that wood slab, the mattress will get moldy fast. There has to be air ventilation around the mattress from underneath, especially dense foam pieces. There are workarounds. This is an ingenious build! Thanks for the tour. Note to camera man: We want to see inside the cabinets. A common mistake is to focus on speaker. While he is speaking, your camera should be showing details of the build, inside cabinets, hinges, how things are assembled, etc. Show the VAN not so much of the MAN. 😊
Well said...but... I have just today watched a no build weekend car camping video with captions only and all the focus was on the build. I say show the van and the man. And no longer than twenty minutes unless the content is engaging. I must declare I have watched long asmr videos some for three hours. Silence is golden. But then speech is sliver.
I own an element, original owner 2008, always wanted to do this. But before I knew it I was busy with college, then with the wife and now it’s the kids. Missed my chance to make my element a little camper, very amazed it’s become such a community of people.
Look at all of my little baby Honda Elements. I get so very excited to see these babies. They were made as a recreational vehicle. They had tents that were specifically designed for the side doors. Oh, and I love my Promaster 2500 also. I don't want him to feel jealous
I worked for a counter top company that built and installed countertops for IKEA in Chicagoland (two stores here). The cabinet installers for IKEA did good work. The homeowners that tried to install their own, not so much usually. This guys Element looks great, I’m sure his cabinet installs are awesome too. Cheers from Chicago!
I bought one in 03 too Loved it . For my kid his surfing football friends etc Our dogs. It was really great ( this waa when most ppl made fun of it " the toaster " ) Sold it b4 we moved cross country. Yrs later. Had a westfalia next and then airstream b4 pulled w a Silverado
awesome build! It looks like If Ikea designed an Element camper! Everyone is waiting for the plans for this build👍 I'm sure if you made some of these cabinets with the drop down desk you would sell out in minutes! I would definitely buy one!
Nice setup. I have a 2007 LX. Starting in '07 the front seats were redesigned and don't tilt forward, they only tilt to the vertical position so a few inches get lost when designing a bed in the back. My bed is similar to yours in that it lays over the passenger seat
I like the simplicity of his fold/swivel down tabletop/desk and it's 'stopped' with the backboard piece (I think), though I'm unsure what he meant about using bungee for that ... would be nice to have that clarified but neato builds all the same
Impressive!! So streamlined and clean! Would you be so kind to advise as to what "power cell" you are using? I watched the vid several times and even stopped to see the name, to no avail. I've never seen one that small!! Thank you!!
Take the bed out and sleep on the reclined seats. This would also give you more storage and a bigger living space in the back and you'll be able to sleep two.
In most cases replacing parts with OEM is best as far as quality, but they generally cost you a pretty penny too. If you want non-OEM to replace the entire control arm, I replaced mine with Mevotech 601017/601018 (listed as "Supreme" on RockAuto). I replaced my ball joints with Mevotech 60502 (also "Supreme"). No issues with either so far, 6 months later. I see Mevotech recommended pretty often on Element pages for non-OEM suspension parts.
Just in case make sure to update your TH-cam app , if you watching from a laptop try in your phone. The Audio is good but I had some people experience that if the app is not update 🙂
This new van life generation waste so much money on over elaborate builds when this works perfectly fine. And won't weigh the vehicle down wasting fuel on drag.
@@artsteadman2230 I don’t have an Element but I have had some IKEA pressboard. That stuff barely survives more than one move as household goods. I can just imagine it after 10,000 miles in a car.
The Elements were so cool. Honda should really bring them back. 😊

Wow I'm extremely jealous of how streamlined this build is (and how clean he keeps the interior of his car, wow).
You and me both!

I bought a brand new Honda Element in 2003. I loved that car. I kept it for 10 years until I had my 2nd child and needed a vehicle with more seats.
I see a lot of women in my life make this excuse. I never understand it.
4 people= 4seats
I bought one in 03 too
Loved it .

I'd definitely be interested in the bed & platform plans. Nicely done.
Great setup, it’s exactly how I envision mine. It’s really the minimal you need for easy camping.

Great build! Looks so well finished.

Wow. The setup is great. Very organized and tidy and has everything you'd need.
I love this set up, especially the shelving unit.

That’s the best build in any car truck suv or van I’ve ever seen! Great job
Wow what a great set up!! Don, you are next level!!

I like the walkway space along the side of the bed. Nice!
Nice tour! And looks like a great meetup! Thanks.

Love to see the hitch he’s using and his hitch hauled.
Awesome setup! 3:55 would love to know what power cell that is you’re using.

I have the same cooler that’s 40 years old picked it up at a garage sale last Friday for $20 came with the original box.
Big score for the price 😎👍

We agree!
Would love a pattern for the cabinet .
Beautiful build!
Very nice travel car, my friend ✌🇫🇮

Love the build! I'm wondering how he secured the cabinet in place... Maybe drilled a bracket to the interior body plastics?

I love the green chair he has behind the driver's seat. Do you know where he got it?
Quite nice
Yes… I just got rid of my element for a Promaster city..I so miss it
I can see why this is such a popular model to convert
Good job.
I love it!

You do a two-person set-up by allowing the other person to sleep in their own vehicle or a tent.

Would like to see him sitting at the desk. Seems he wouldn't have enough head room to sit there comfortably
I will try to do a new video of his set up since he made some changes 🙂👍
I like it. I would have taken the seat out for more storage
very nice
Cool !!!
Excelent!!
:42 seconds in, hey I know that exact campsot!
Big Bear as in Big Bear California? I live there, 25 years permanent resident. Nice build thanks.
Nice, thank you
I have a 2015 Ford flex that I want to do something like this with
Hello, i do not understand what is the wood of the bed ? Can we find it at IKEA ? Thank you
Beautiful setup, thanks for sharing. Is the passenger seat easy to remove, as that would allow more space if you drive alone?
We don't have this car in the uk. It looks really versatile. Is it for the US Market only?
USA, Japan , some Latin America and European countries too
Hi I have a question .
What's a good brand for lower control arm and ball joint. I have a 2007 Honda Element EX ?
Thank you
I’ll recommend OEM bushing for the arm

I want this exact build! it's hard to find Honda element builds for tall guys? does anyone have resources?

Great to meet you guys too ! I had a blast..I hope to keep adding to my set-up !

Brand on power cell?
It's a Beaudens 166W......it's worked great so far !
I can't hear your audio very well?

HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS ARE AUTOMATIC AND HOW MANY ARE MANUEL?😊
Manual gang!
This new van life generation waste so much money on over elaborate builds when this works perfectly fine. And won't weigh the vehicle down wasting fuel on drag.
Weight doesn't cause drag
Anyone know what the power pack is? Perfect form factor.
@RickMunday the power pack looks like a SWAREY from Amazon
they discontinued the element 😢😢😢
Honda , bring it back
Pressboard in a moving jiggling vehicle. I don’t think so.
