    i picked a new one up last april for $199. i really like it. the frets feel nice and the neck is awesome. the p90 can get get a little noisy when i run it through my tankg, but i can play with the noise gate for that.
    honestly, this is a great guitar for anyone looking on getting back into playing.

    i have one for about a year now. Great guitar after you replace the bridge and pickup switch. I had to level the frets. The bridge I bought is a wraparound with independent string saddles Got it for $199 ! It plays awesome. No need to swap pickups.
    Great clean playing guitar. Middle setting is amazing!
    It's body size is larger than that of a Les Paul.
    Thanks for the video.

    I have the same guitar. I love it. It was great out of the box. I haven’t had any issues with the bridge. I’m very pleased with it for $199

    Yep. Got this four years ago because of the pickup configuration and the bolt-on neck for no-nonsense adjustments and durability. Oh yeah, how can you beat that skyish blue/surfy green metallic color.

    Pretty cool guitar, I have had a Gretsch jet for years. I still prefer the traditional Filtertrons in my Gretsch guitars.

  • @OttoVonRaz

    I had a Gretsch G5210-P90 Electromatic Jet and loved the fit and finish. The pickups weren’t very good though, way too mid heavy. I wonder how this one compares. Great review ❤❤❤

      Thank you. I think after a while I will replace the P90. I like the Humbucker - I think the P90 is a little murky.

  • @paulcrothers6291
    @paulcrothers6291 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I put in a Bill Lawrence (his daughter made it ?) L500 in the bridge. EY P90 alnico 5 sized humbucker in the neck for killing the hum .
    Gotoh adjustable wrap around bridge. Tusq nut . Grover locking Rotomatic tuners .
    No sharp fret sprout , intonates perfectly.

    I like this type of guitar a lot and have various Epiphone Specials, one with P90s. So naturally this Gretsch is interesting. I would probably own one of these if not for the ridiculous vol pot location out on the horn. WTF? If I find the right deal I still want one. If I get it, I'll move that volume pot, or just swap the functions of the standard pots. Most players work the volume way more than the tone, right?

    • @guitarcollectorguy
      @guitarcollectorguy  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree re the electronics locations. I was thinking about the difficulty in doing an upgrade - crazy!

    • @markpell8979
      @markpell8979 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@guitarcollectorguy Yeah it could be a little tedious. Have to make new a harness basically, but it would be fairly simple. I wonder how many folks think this control setup is weird.

    • @markpell8979
      @markpell8979 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@guitarcollectorguy But on the other hand, it's a cool guitar anyway, the weird vol pot is part of it, so I guess I could just decide to like it. 😁

      What were the issues?

    • @djspencerproductions
      @djspencerproductions 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have one. Big disappointment. Cannot get this thing intonated. The fixes that I’ve found require putting money into it, most notably replacing the wraparound bridge. The fixed saddle from the factory is useless. Sound is not horrible, but I’ve had better.

    • @smarfmart
      @smarfmart 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@djspencerproductionsI had one that couldn’t intonate with several intonatable wraparound bridges. Returned it back to GC and they put it back on the floor even though I told them what was wrong with it.

    • @trahnettilhcs
      @trahnettilhcs 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Intonation, as some others have mentioned, but beyond that, the bridge height was problematic. It needed to have the neck shimmed, and the screws for intonation stripped immediately. The bridge pickup was very imbalanced with the neck. Tuners were pretty cheap.
