I think the point is that Chat believes he's at unfair advantage in knowing her since he knows her from school but she doesn't know that. He's not aware that she knows him as Chat. He believes he knows her better than she knows him and that combined with knowing she feels nothing for Adrien but everything for Chat must be very conflicting. I mean how would you feel if someone you liked reciprocated their feelings for you only sometimes and friendzoned you the next? He knows she doesn't know he's one and the same but he also knows he can't tell her that. I absolutley love this episode, it fully forces marinette to fully realize the dire consequences of her emotions and actions, espectially because she is a superhero. I think this might come back to bite her later, and honestly i doubt that we will end the series in a way where both Marinette and Adrian know each others identities and can peacefully have a relationship. The only way for that to work is for them to completley defeat hawk moth, and by the way things are going both the relationship between Adrian and Marinette, along with Cat Noir and Ladybug's relationship will be so plagued with confusion, hurt, and lost emotions that they don't know how to deal with in order to not be akumatized. FInding out each other's identieis would only highten this state, and while I definetley think they will find out and one of them will be akumatized, theres no way the two of them could survive as both a couple in real life and detached partners while fighting crime.

Wait I actually love this take, the idea that Marrinette uses her mask as a way to have a show of confidence and power that is different from her usual, clumsy and sweet self, whereas Adrian gets to use his mask as a way to show his goofy, fun, and cheeky side that is not shown in his usual "perfect" self as Adrian. But I think now both of them are starting to realize the way that both personas intertwine with both their daily lives and superhero lives, and that they are in fact a mix of both their characters, and this is shown through them dealing with the effects and emotions that come with the reverse love square. Also , about perfection, if a moment doesn't happen where someone calls adrian perfect and then he burts and shows that he is fact not perfect and hates the idea and expectations that leads up to, well I will be very dissapointed.
i think she does like Chat, but surface level, for the wrong reason. She’s always loved Chat and over the last season we saw that bond deepen, especially now when he’s the closest in perimeter to relate to and take care of her. All the reasons she stated for liking him were true, but she’s also in denial the for the extra reason she’s pursuing those feelings, which is feeling like because of her love for adrien, she lost control, which isn’t all that true. pretty much baby girl is traumatized and taking the safe route that i think will truly deepen through the season. I absolutley love this episode, it fully forces marinette to fully realize the dire consequences of her emotions and actions, espectially because she is a superhero. I think this might come back to bite her later, and honestly i doubt that we will end the series in a way where both Marinette and Adrian know each others identities and can peacefully have a relationship. The only way for that to work is for them to completley defeat hawk moth, and by the way things are going both the relationship between Adrian and Marinette, along with Cat Noir and Ladybug's relationship will be so plagued with confusion, hurt, and lost emotions that they don't know how to deal with in order to not be akumatized. FInding out each other's identieis would only highten this state, and while I definetley think they will find out and one of them will be akumatized, theres no way the two of them could survive as both a couple in real life and detached partners while fighting crime.

i'm actually rather confused as to who adrien refers to as his 'true self'. when i was a big fan of the show, i always shipped marichat as marinette would love adrien for what I thought was his truest self and vice versa (i personally believe marinette was truly herself without the mask while adrien could be whoever he wanted to be with it) But ig I was wrong?
Wait I actually love this take, the idea that Marrinette uses her mask as a way to have a show of confidence and power that is different from her usual, clumsy and sweet self, whereas Adrian gets to use his mask as a way to show his goofy, fun, and cheeky side that is not shown in his usual "perfect" self as Adrian. But I think now both of them are starting to realize the way that both personas intertwine with both their daily lives and superhero lives, and that they are in fact a mix of both their characters, and this is shown through them dealing with the effects and emotions that come with the reverse love square.
Also , about perfection, if a moment doesn't happen where someone calls adrian perfect and then he burts and shows that he is fact not perfect and hates the idea and expectations that leads up to, well I will be very dissapointed.

i think she does like Chat, but surface level, for the wrong reason. She’s always loved Chat and over the last season we saw that bond deepen, especially now when he’s the closest in perimeter to relate to and take care of her. All the reasons she stated for liking him were true, but she’s also in denial the for the extra reason she’s pursuing those feelings, which is feeling like because of her love for adrien, she lost control, which isn’t all that true. pretty much baby girl is traumatized and taking the safe route that i think will truly deepen through the season. If she didn’t have any feelings for chat she would still be prancing around saying she doesn’t like anyone like before.
