what optic is on the M4 and how is it, clarity, battery life etc?.
It’s a UH-1 replica from Aim-o. Prett cheap but does the trick, nothing too fancy. It’s a nice and clear dot.

Is this a pre 2018 GHK? Thoughts on supposed drop of Quality after 2018? Gas Blow Back reddit mentions it a lot.
No this was manufactured in 2022. This is my first GHK M4 so I honestly couldn’t tell ya
The issue you are referring to is mostly common in the AK platform. M4’s are still very good 👍🏼

Mind I ask what scope you are using Wiz? And also, do you find yourself using the red dot on top frequently?
I’m using the Novritsch LPVO and I am super happy with it especially considering the price. And, yes I tend to use the red dot often. About 50/50

4-5 depending on capacity. 30 rounds = minimum 5 mags.
