Having only discovered the OTC late last year, I’m moved by the death of Bill. The last time the OTC played was four days before he passed. Only one of E6’s “big three” still stands and it’s been a decade since their last album.

Henriett Túrós yeah i was too when the forum went down for a week. The forum is more organized I feel. Yes I even got to meet bill and say how much of an inspiration he is to me :')
In the new E6 docu, Will mentions he was drinking heavily before Bill told him something like, "Hey if you stop, we can get the band back together if you want." RIP Bill Doss
Are you sure it wasnt the other way around. Sorrry to assume that it's just that OTC formed Circulatory System w/o Bill. And then we know what happened to Bill. Maybe he just couldn't keep it together who knows. Why wouldn't Bill continue with OTC if there wasn't some issue related to him. I haven't the doc so im just thinking out loud here.
That reminds me of the story where someone tried to pass him a joint onstage and he got irked. RIP Bill Doss "Everyone who loves psychedelia is a drug addict" We all know this to be true.
I hung out with them and Jeff Magnum 92- 93ish in Ruston at the Monroe street house THE SPACE SHACK before everyone moved out to Athens. There were great shows in that house.
Must have been a cool scene. I was in Athens 90-95 and hung out there a lot until 2002-03. I remember I went to see visit my sister one Easter in Athens. I picked up a Flagpole and Apples in Stereo and Great Lakes were playing. Bunch of other guys got up on stage with them. The mid to late 90's was a really flourishing scene in Athens and Atlanta. Saw OTC play several times around that time. Atlanta had one last resurgence around 2006-2008.
will seems so happy, the big smile on his face through the whole set. i'm so glad they got to have this before bill left us. but i can't help but wonder... would they have fully reformed? would we be knee deep in new OTC albums? man... miss these guys so much. i really do.
@@andrewsankov Will did an interview this January saying they will. Bill Doss’ wife asked Robert to overlook the new double record specifically. It was all recorded before Bill Doss passed, and would be awesome if we got a tour of the new record
OMG - I can't believe I just watched this. I never saw OTC live, honestly never thought of them as a live band. This vid is like, as if they had been able to keep going and played any of the fests I actually did attend in the last decade, and I got to see them! And by 39:25 I am right there with that dude in the audience - singing every word at the top of my lungs. Watched the end of this in tears. So good!
I cant believe its almost been THIRTY YEARS since i first heard these guys. I'd have given anything just to see this band moving and talking much less a full show. Thanks so much, i have watched it a few times now and will cherish this. Its good to see The Bill Doss again, too, looking happy and doing his thing with Will again. Beautiful stuff.
The Olivia Tremor Control are a great live band, but they don't sound anywhere near as good as they can when you provide for them sound more suited for a three-piece indie band, they've always used vocal harmonies, so where the hell are Will's vocals?
Saam I don’t blame them for sounding this way. Music this elaborate is very hard to recreate live. That’s why the Beatles hardly performed live after 1966.
Who is that guy playing guitar instead of Will? I always thought otc would be the best band I'd ever see live until I saw Neutral Milk Hotel a few days ago.
How do you get a person's name wrong, have this many comments pointing it out, and fail to fix it for DAYS, literally DAYS, eternities in the internet age? Come on, Pitchfork. Bill Doss has been floated... RIP

you gotta wonder if anyone in the crowd realizes how blessed they are to be there
Yep, I don't think many of them really appreaciated it :(
I knew :)

this makes unreasonably sad
It’s pretty surreal watching this knowing that Bill would die in literally just over two weeks after this show
really sad...
RIP Bill Doss, I wish I had the opportunity to see you live.
This was on 7/13/12, and Bill died on 7/30/12. Really sad.
It really breaks my heart thinking everything we’ve missed out on

Se te extrañará Bill!! Enorme banda!!
i would like to hear it with a more decent mix. Anyway so great, my favourite OTC´s gig
Right?! Pitchfork could've done at least one thing right.
This is very sad, OTC is one of the best band of the second millennium, and Bill Doss one of the finest songwriters, R.I.P.
Great band, wonderful people! Very much missed
Its so beautiful when I Have Been Floated cuts out to just the violin and piano.
Just a fantastic band. Probably my second all time favorite band. Bill... such a loss.

Not once, but twice.
Wow, he died 15-ish days later 😔
