Mystery Box full of old Johnny Lightning FUNNY CARS and GASSERS

It is finally time to examine the huge collection of Johnny Lighting, mainly circa 1990's, that Steven Papa and Peter Brewer sent to me from all the way "down under" (Sydney, Australia). It was a couple of years ago or more, that I received a message on my TH-cam channel from Steve asking if he could send me a gift of diecast toy cars that he had found while scouring flea markets, garage sales, antique stores, and his local swap meets. Of course I was delighted by Steve and Peter's generosity, and all the more excited when huge, heavy parcels began to arrive on my doorstep full of everything diecast, from very old Dinky trucks to still-packaged but "semi-vintage" Johnny Lightning collectibles from the Playing Mantis and RC2 Learning Curve days. At the time I filmed these Mystery Box unboxing videos while marveling at all the hundreds of toys packed into each box, but I don't think I properly gave each and every car the attention needed to really see what I got, at least not on film anyways. So this is a trip back in time, to have a close look at the packaging and the Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Funny Cars, Dragstrip Dragsters, and so much more! Awesome video. I recently picked up a bunch of Johnny Lightning cars at an estate auction. Most of the cars were from the 90s. You actually got some of the same cars that I picked up. I've been working on video of all mine but it's taking forever because of the sheer volume of cars that I ended up getting. As I have been going through them, I have found something that annoys me a little about these old Johnny Lightning cars. Most of the time it is hard to find the name of the car on the package. Thanks for sharing!!

6:50 that corvette could be an old dinky mold, it might explain the weird scale. it was definitely something RC bought off some other maker.

I did some trading of some hot wheels for several drag racing JL models a couple years back. Might have to open them up since the cards are pretty banged up. Even have a top fuel model in the group.

Plus when u do the part 2 unboxing of them do the review like a car show that be awesome you did say when you received the johnny lightning coke delivery vehicles u said you wouldn't open them

My favs JL ...hey funny how i keep finding what your finding sorta ..
Went to the market ...an found a old 2012 M2 chase a black an gold 58 Plymouth fury ..on the back the list says car is pink 😀
So my guess M2 always did the chase in gold ?
An wow also in the same former collection..guy had 2 bins full of JL an tons of monster trucks..could of been treasure hunts but 4x4s i have no idea what im looking at .
So in it was one of those super old ...cards that say white lightning in huge letters ...its a orange funny car white motor and ..base
I actually forgot to check car type ..its a funny car with the praying mantis painted in the door with a mean look on his face like he is in a race lol.
That one car #2 Johhny lightning special blue indy car drivin by al unser ..he won the 70 and 71 indy 500 in a johhny lightning sponsored car..led 190 of 200 laps .....dominated the race in 70
Fun fact i found a super old large car case made by Topper of that #2 indy car from way back from the dawn of JL still cant belive i found that case its just a huge version of that car an opens like a dinosaur mouth ..

I love this video bro I’m a huge fan of anything dragracing me and my dad have a 1979 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme that we turned into a drag car it’s not a funny car or anything it’s still got a full interior we just took out the inner fenders and put a nasty Chevy small block in it but boy I tell you what that thing is fun I don’t know if you collect any larger scale models I know I’ve seen you do some reviews of 24th and 18th scale in the past but if you don’t have any already you should get some of those hot wheels Volkswagen drag buses I think they’re either one 24th or 1/18 scale, I think you would really enjoy them. I found one at antique store and it is pretty sweet anyway sorry about writing so much on here. I just wanted to say that.
