Before I climbed Mt. Shasta I met with a tribe who has long claimed the area as their ancestral homeland. I was invited to participate in a traditional sweat lodge ceremony!
Anishinaabe and living amongst my family, The Lakota. Under normal circumstances, cameras are never allowed at our ceremonies. Perhaps this 35 second clip was done in alignment, to try and at least bring in family seeking truth. I just visited this area, and I was absolutely blown away by the pristine nature, the trees, the clean water. Whatever you do, just remember that there is a way of life much different than we are taught. My people were nearly exterminated, the children broken up from their families and abused. The Power of This Mountain is incredible, and it's time that we begin awakening Humanity to their true potential. This will come from the continuance of The Ways of Our Ancestors. We are all Connected. Mitakuye Oyasin
As a person that participates in these ceremonies regularly, this looks more like a new age kind of thing… I don’t know any elders in real ceremonies that would allow cameras inside that lodge. Blows my mind what people will do not even knowing they’re being disrespectful in order to get views.
Absolutely! And the door open for better lighting for the video haha. Takes away from the sacredness of the ceremony. Perhaps these types of videos do encourage new people to seek out sweat lodge so that could be helpful
I kno it is disrespectful, but ppl who come from an outside perspective, don't know it is disrespectful unless they're told. I, for one, haven't sat in sweats since I was a little girl, but my mom has always told me that letting the camera in alone is highly disrespectful. These ceremonies are very sacred and should be treated as such. This shouldn't have been allowed at all.
@@shonijones23 completely agree, which is why I believe this to be more of a new age sweat lodge. I have heard that there are some people that will charge people to get this experience, which is even more crazy to me. Very sad stuff.
WHAT WOULD U RATHER HAVE PEOPLE SEE IT LIKE THIS OR NOT AT ALL. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IS HOW HE LOOKS AFTER THE CEREMONY. JUDGE YOUR FEEELINGS WHEN LOOKING AT HIM AND U DECIDE IF THIS IS RIGHT OR WRONG
@@Horsecatcheryea I mean in a normal sauna, you will mostly socialize with other people, or just relax. But on this one, you use your time in there to do prayers and I'm almost sure that it has something to do with cleansing the mind and body of any bad things.
@@podex6354 yes I know these things. I am Navajo, but was taught the Lakota ways. My father who adopted me many years ago was a holy man, a Lakota man.
@@truthyahweh9877 I have done much research. It causes immense strain on the heart and blood vessels. It is completely unnatural for the body to so quickly jump between these two extremes. If you do sauna or cold exposure the best practice is to warm or cool back to normal temperature slowly. Please do the research yourself

It's nothing like sitting in a sauna.
Stop trying to disrespect Indigenous PEOPLE

This is not a sweat lodge. 😂
Should jump in a ice bath right after
That’s sooo bad for you. I don’t think people realize lol. At no point in nature did humans subject themselves to such drastic temperature changes
@Adam-ww8ei maybe do some research. It's very good for u. Ever heard of Russia?
