Thanks dude. And I agree. Upto now the UAD Pultec has been the best plugin option by far IMO, but now it’s equally matched with the Slate EQ. The low end from the Slate version is astoundingly good!
Thanks for the video. I have the Slate All-Access deal, and didn't realize what this new plugin even was. Just adding your settings and tweaking slightly for my project, it's like magic. This is the exact tiny push over the top that I didn't even know I needed.
Great video. I’ve been using the SSL Violet EQ, which is kind of a Pultec I dare to say. It sounds brilliant on most songs, but lately I’ve been using the Pultec on songs where I want a more rough mix. It adds a lot of depth to the low and high end without any harshness whatsoever.
@@adamfiascoVEVO I love all the Fusion plugins and use them all in the Mix Bus. They give a nice polish to the mix. The only plugin, in my opinion, that can be problematic is definitely the Violet EQ. Sounds great on most mixes, but in other cases it can ruin a mix, that’s why I sometimes replace it with the Pultec. Cheers.
That's just marketing. It changed my perception for good when I learnt - thankfully in a young age - to not care if a plug-in emulation sounds close to the original and just use whatever works in my mix at the time.
The Slate Pultec sounds wooly. It should sound much better than an OLD plugin, but it actually sounds way worse. The UAD one is not that exciting either compared to Apogee and Noise Ash.
I have both. I agree the warm sound of Slate felt very professional. I believe the Air EQ at 12-14khz 2-3db after slate would soubd great Then do NOT forget about Audio Acousticq’s stuff. I think they ROCK and so close to the hardware ”sheen”
Thanks for taking the time to do such an in depth review. We really appreciate you!
No problem! Thanks for making an awesome Pultec!! Love your plugins and been using them for over a decade! Keep making awesome stuff 🙏🏼
I love comparison videos like this. So glad to finally have a Pultec from Slate! And the mix sounds killer!

NoiseAsh - Rule Tec EQ1A. The best for me!

Thanks man! I was so close to getting a hardware SSL Fusion with the violet but saw too many QC issues. I do quite like the plugins though!

so the Apogee pultec has been considered the Holy Grail of emulations so it would be interesting to hear a comparison

the Apogee one is the best emulation there is.
Yet there's other videos that say, and one that even shows UAD nailed the hardware, so not sure how much better it gets if that's the case.
The Apogee one is even better.

You're using Cubase as your DAW. Cubase is the BEST !!!!
I’ve used Cubase all the way since SX3! Never felt much need to look elsewhere!
