    This was a real adventure, in every sense, just from what you told so far! The documentary will be spectacular, I can already tell :) Also, sounds like you could've used a shoehorn as additional gear for your blister issue ;)

    You traveled all the way out there and then nothing seemed to go as planned (to start anyways) and you were able to keep a positive attitude. We need more like you in this world my friend. Well done:)

    Bravo Jeff! The race itself is a huge challenge and there were clearly additional adversities to test your mettle. Your training was perfect and your attitude was excellent. Great combination. I hope you tell us about recovery and getting back to training after this race as well and I really anticipate the full video series. Thanks!

    How did you like Georgia?
    I was there doing some mountaineering on Kazbek around the same time. The weather was super unstable and even dangerous.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The weather was certainly a challenge, but I really enjoyed my experience there overall. I’d like to go back and do some more hiking in the Kazgebi region.

    • @lmbraga
      @lmbraga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JeffPelletier also planning a return as the weather didn't let us summit Kazbek. Trail/Adventure running in the Kazbegi region should be very interesting, but the steep terrain and elevation seem very different from where the Racing the Planet took place.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very much so! I spent a couple of days there when I first arrived and it reminded me of Nepal 🙌

    Have you ever considered trying to lower your carbon footprint by staying local as much as possible? It doesn’t seem very ethical to fly all the way to Georgia, only to return back to Europe for UTMB soon after.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a great question. In the short-term, I've begun to offset the carbon emissions for my flights with the purchase of carbon credits from Gold Standard, but long-term I recognize this isn't a solution. My carbon emissions at home are quite low, but ideally I wouldn't travel for these kinds of international races at all. That's something I've been struggling with since resuming travelling post-pandemic as international travel has always been a passion of mine. Unfortunately, staying overseas from June through end of August wasn't an option for me this year.
