Mephisto Odyssey - Static-X - Crash Announcement 2024! I'm currently working with Static-X on a new single release of the song Crash, which Wayne, Koichi and I (under my band Mephisto Odyssey) recorded for a movie "Batman Beyond; Return of the Joker) in 2000. Later the song appeared on our full length release, "The Deep Red Connection", and was added to their album "Beneath, Between Beyond", but never released as a single. Those of you who are long time fans of Static-X may already know I've had a long time friendship (since 1999) with the band. Our band was signed to Warner Bros. at the same time and we were introduced by our mutual A & R rep Troy Wallace. My band Mephisto Odyssey did many remixes for Static-X, including Push it, Cold, and Love Dump to name a few. In fact it was our mix of their song Love Dump that appeared in the sound track to the film "Valentine." I was never satisfied with the original mix of "Crash." The mix engineer that was hired by WB was excellent but stylistically it was out of his wheel house and with only 1/2 a day in the studio we just didn't have the time to work with him to flesh the mix out properly. It was no one's fault, it was purely circumstantial. I'm really glad to finally be revisiting the original multitracks after all these years. I finished the new mix from the original master recording earlier this year (mastered by Maor Applebaum), and it is on god mode compared to the original from 2000. Koichi Fukuda, Tony Campos and Ken Jay are working on a Static-X full band version of the song. Both the original and Static-X band version will have new completely re-edited 4k videos made from the original 35mm film footage that was shot by Len Wiseman (Underworld). WB was able to provide me with 10 film canisters worth of film footage that they digitized in 4k for me in March. A big thanks to WB for their support on this project, they've been amazing. I'm looking forward to working on the new video edits and seeing the footage after all these years. There will be some other remix contributions to the Crash single release (TBA), we're talking to various people who are interested. The single + videos will be made available both digitally (through WB) and on physical media. We're planning on a 25 year anniversary release in 2025 if we can get everything together in time; so far we're on track to do so. In conjunction with the forthcoming single release of Crash, I am also rebooting my band Mephisto Odyssey in tandem. This only makes sense given the single will most likely be a co-release. The reboot of MO will include a new website and social media, followed by new material and possible live dates. Thank you and feel free to share this with anyone who may be interested - Mikael Johnston (Mephisto Odyssey) poptwist.studio
This song and Batman Beyond return of the joker brings me back memories from my childhood, this is what got me into heavy meatal and rock music all in one. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙
@demonage666 Drinking non carbonated drinks also help. Tea works great, it relaxes the throat, making it able to perform better. The more lubed up your throat is the longer you can hold those notes without bottoming out. Wayne uses Clear Voice throat spray, or something like that.
It's been five years since the last comment. @DifunctedReble 5 years ago WOW. Okay. What am I missing? This is a pretty trippy video and the lyrics are a puzzle. A little help? Where are the film students with insight when you need them?
@@iamtamashii4184 In the music video Wayne Static is in the music video singing this song, the least they can do is credit him here for it. The music video titles originally did give him credit. Whatever happened to that class in the music industry? They just don't care anymore.
23 years later and it still sounds awesome
24 years later and it still kicks ass.
Wayne as Batman 🖤
That song will always be a part of my childhood. Good on you, Wayne. Rock on wherever you are or have been.

This reminds me of Matrix for some reason... :P
WTF? Why didn' they give static-x credit for being in this song? :/
Cause it's not their song.

the remix of this song is way better it has more rock beats and it fits batman beyound way better
Most Absurdly Hilarious Movie-Tie In Music Video. Ever.
"You got shit on my batman." "You got batman in my shit." This does not combine! Fail
I am thoroughly unimpressed with the music.
this is poop.. Damn, "Batdance" Is a hundred times better. Is that the guy from Static X? If so, why ruin his sound?
god that was so bad, leave Batman Beyond alone dude it was cool but this is not!
This song & the Batman Beyond series was the SHiznit!! I miss that show. )-:
