Hey guys! My dad asked me to do an oil change on his car so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to modify it! Huge shout out to Jonathan (@jayymagikk) for letting me borrow his BMS (Burger Motorsports) Cold Air Intake! Which I am now purchasing for my dad btw! So glad he likes it! Even though I love it a lot more! I hope you guys enjoy this video!

rJ scoop he’s still old-fashioned! Just a little more laidback. I feel like once I hit 24, he got way more chill. He loves my gf, he likes that he doesn’t have to pay for a damn thing anymore. I pretty much handle everything minus the fact I don’t have a career or my own house yet. But for the most part we don’t really bug each other and whenever he needs help with anything, I’m always there for him. I think he genuinely sees the drive I have for TH-cam & potentially having my own company rather than the old 18 year old me who wanted to go pro with skateboarding which isn’t very practical considering the high level of injury/risk.
I pretty much disappointed him my entire life... hey what’s up man? 🤣

Your dad reminds me of my dad, he asked to borrow my car to go to a football game unknowingly that i just got a muffler/resonator delete, and i could hear him ( and his disappointment lol) revving like crazy in the driveway hahahaha.
Also when i first started doing little things to my is350 he would always tell me *its a luxury car you dont do that stuff to it blah blah* now i have the sickest car in the neighborhood ! lol

And with the Lexus, I’m modding it a little better and cleaner so maybe he likes it. Because before he would scold me for wasting money, now he brags to his friends how I get expensive ass parts for half price because I look for the best deals or find them used because of my cheap Vietnamese refugee mentality LOL. Reminds me of my dad. I read somewhere that intakes were illegal in CA, what do you do when SMOG and other things come along?
Yeah, MOST cold air intakes are NOT California Carb Legal. So they most likely won’t pass the visual part of smog without a carb legal sticker and serial number. The best thing to do would be to uninstall, reinstall OEM, go to smog, then reinstall the aftermarket! It’s a 10 minute swap!

Unfortunately it does not as it is a made for a completely different engine! There’s many options for the V6! Such as AEM, Takeda, Injen, etc!

Hey! I think the BMS intake is great because you still use the OEM piping! Which is better than an aftermarket metal one because it doesn’t heat soak!

Haha, I’ve known him all my life and I know whenever he’s excited or genuinely approves of something, he makes that face. He’s very blunt and to the point. I just installed an intake on my 2019 is 300. My oldest daughters boyfriend recommended I install an oil catch can as well as a few other peeps. I purchased one and I am planning on installing next week but I wanted to get your thoughts on it since you installed it on your dads ride. I absolutely love the way my car sounds now...unbelievable how it changes the entire driving experience! Thanks man!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! And tbh I can’t stand the i4 turbo in the 200t/300. It’s def way better for MPG, that’s forsure. But I’ll take a slower v6 over that purely for the sound of the v6 paired with an exhaust. The 200t def has more pep to it’s step but i personally don’t care for more power. It’s just that the 200t can’t sound aggressive enough with any exhaust imo. But that’s just me!

Hey Jason, I have a 2016 Lexus IS 200t F Sport same color as your dad's by the way. Question: I have always been told that an intake can not be installed on an "F Sport". Is your dad's car an "F Sport", or an "IS 200t" (no F Sport)?
You can install an intake on both! My dads is an f sport!

Hey man, I have a 2017 IS200t F-Sport and I just got my mufflers deleted today and got piping and exhaust tips welded on. I can notice a slight difference in the sound from stock, but barely. I know it’s a 4 cyl engine but I was still expecting something a decent bit more loud. I was wondering if your dad has a custom exhaust on his 200t? Or if you have any recommendations on what I should do to make it a little bit louder. Thanks!
Hey bud! I’m sorry it’s not as Lou d as you wanted it to be! You can delete your resonators next and see how it sounds. If it still isn’t loud enough, you may have to buy a real exhaust. My dads is completely stock exhaust!!
Jason Nguyen Thanks for the reply! I might just skip the resonator delete and go straight to buying an actual exhaust system. I’m assuming buying an Axle back system would make the car still sound like pretty much what I have right now with the muffler delete? I know Remark makes a good Axle back for this car but I don’t want to get it if axle back is going to change the sound much from what I currently have. Might have to go catback.

Hey man! It was a lot of custom fabrication! Cutting, welding, as well as new brackets, mounts, and pulling the exhaust out an inch or so!

Does your pop have the 200t or 300? What year is his car and what type of intake? I am currently looking for an intake for my 300 and just curious what you're running on his ride.
He has the 200t! The 300 is the same car just rebadged. Unless you have the AWD which is a v6. The intake was a BMS cold air intake!

I’ve been thinking to get an intake for my 200t! I do have a question, when you are just cruising, is the intake loud? I would like to hear the nice “bov” mainly when I step on it so I was I curious
Intake only growls when you step on it hard you will hardly know the difference if you drive normal
It isn’t loud when you’re cruising pretty slow. However once you hit even a little bit of boost (you do not need to full throttle for boost) it’ll make sort of a hiss. Like airs coming out. But it’s getting released so it’s not building up enough to actually make a blow off sound. If you want the blow off sound while still cruising or maintaining the speed you’re going, you can go into 5th gear while going speed limit, and floor it. You’ll only go like 4 miles per hours more over a period of seconds while building boost. So it isn’t jerky, it’s very slow but boost is building up because you’re “full throttling” it. And it’ll make sounds (:

I do my own oil changes too. It cost me about $25-6 for the oil from walmart. I bought my oil filters and drain gaskets in bundles a while ago online. Forgot how much those cost. But anyway, my local mechanics usually would charge me $60 for oil changes.

Get him spacers for the F-Sport wheels! 15-20mm bolt-on ones all around should do the trick.

I personally don’t think cold air intakes are necessary unless you’re boosted. Because you lose low end power. It sounds awesome tho!

Thank you so much! They’re doing a lot better. And cold air intakes are better for turbo cars compared to NA cars. Like I wouldn’t put a cold air intake on my 250 because to me it’s pointless. Cold air intakes are good for turbo cars!
