"I want to change the world a little bit through art." Inspiring words indeed, and perhaps the most noble reason for getting involved in the music industry. Here's hoping Project Pitchfork keeps putting out albums and wicked videos. :)

Can anyone explain to me why most Gothic bands try so desperately to prove that God doesn't exist and that God is dead?!!! I would so totally get PP's albums if they weren't so hateful towards God!! I love their music..I also wear tons of black clothing and feel that there is certainly a dark side to me...but going to the extreme and being against God is a little excessive!!

Dark Songbird I don't see anywhere in PP's albums the hatefulness towards "God" that you are seeing. I also believe I recall watching another interview where PS says the most important thing to him is "God".One can interpret that to mean a variety of things, but I don't really see a hatefulness towards "God" in the music.
I think "God" and religion have a large influence on Goth music for a variety of reasons, but the thing I most see woven into lyrics and into the Goth culture in general are how people take religion to an extreme and use it as an excuse to shun and oppress different groups of people. To me this isn't necessarily "God", but what extremely religious and fearful people do in the name of "God". I think you'll find that many people within the Goth culture have a different take on this personally, and their relationships with "God" and religion vary.

Maybe becaause they are people that were gaslighted, tortured, prosecuted and bullied by ''pure spirit'' believers?
I'm not into ''atheist'' things, even I'm skeptic about soul, gods and afterlife, I don't care about it.
BUT....I was, and still am, being bullied by believers all the time. It's just...gross, and disrespectful.
Why believers can't live without IMPOSING subjectivity into people's minds?
Please, live your life and let people live their lives, just simple as that...
