Ah, that special time when we get to show a brand new product to you:) Today we take a quick look at the new IC-7 Display Dash. This video is only meant to cover the basics. A more in-depth, step-by-step setup video is coming soon. Got any questions about this product? Leave them in the comments section!
Omg this is so exciting!!! After seeing it the b is for build video I’ve been looking forward to the actual unveiling! Its so much crispier than I had expected! No more weak sauce racepaks!
I was very interested in using this with obd2 until i saw the price AUD: $1350 seems like a lot for my use case. Im also worried about the polling rate of digital dashes and information coming from obd2. What is the polling rate of this item? eg 1000hz
I have just bought an IQ3 street dash for my build but now this is coming out I want to get my hands on it. Does it have inputs for turn signals, high beam and other street features and how interchangeable is it with the IQ3?
Suicide Garage sounds like we will need to have an additional inputs and outputs module for these features. Why have a 34 pin plug that only has 4 pins in it. Kinda disappointed honestly
Love this. I have an evo7 that I have tuned with the stock ecu. I heard you said this can work with some obd2 cars. Will this work with the evo7? This would be perfect instead of filling my dash with gauges. Love the channel.
Makes you wonder wonder what difference is between this and say a android running torque with an obd2 dongle, one that comes to mind is torque you can datalog
While it might be backwards compatible with OEM CAN networks. These type of displays are primarily designed to be used in conjunction with an aftermarket ECU, especially in vehicles set up for mptorsports .
@did ya shit in the pool again DC2 Integra with a B18c, so yeah it's possible, but it would probably just be easier to swap to a B18c from a later year that was OBD2. We're pretty restricted on mods in my series to keep costs down, so for me it's all about lights and bells and whistles for the "pretend racecar" stuff than for actual performance. I think for the OBD2 conversion it's just the harness and then a few extra sensors (and ECU) that need to be added, so doable but not worth the effort :D
There are number of things that can be customized - all the juicy details are here: www.haltech.com/haltech-ic-7-display-dash-a-new-way-of-seeing-things/
The best thing to do is to have a chat with one of our Tech Support guys - they'll be able to tell you which model best suits your engine combo - support@haltech.com
Is there going to be this model but in the similar shape as the old one? Big fan of the rounded top. I assume this would display check engine light if it's connected to the ECU, if there's been a fault?
It's unlikely we will go back to the rounded top shape. There are a few warning lights available and the check engine is one of them. They are all referenced off the ECU.
That sounds like a question for our tech support tea. Feel free to contact them directly via www.haltech.om/contact-us They'll be more than happy to help :)
Are there any plans to program the buttons on the dash to send information back to the ECU over can bus (IE virtual switches)? This would be a huge advantage over other screens on the market.
This is dumb question buuuut, can i change the color and design of the gauges? its a minor thing cause i would love this paired to my elite 1500 either way 🥵
This is very nice and very exciting! Question... Is it legal to have one of these mounted in front of your existing instrument cluster? Also, how much are they!? 👌
That is depending on where in the world you live, but in most cases, this will cover all the required information as long as you feed it with the data it needs. so unless the place you live have some sort of stock instrumentation requirement there should not really be an issue. I think speedo is usually the only legally required gauge.
All the specs and pricing is here: www.haltech.com/haltech-ic-7-display-dash-a-new-way-of-seeing-things/ As to the legal requirements - they vary depending on the country/region you're in. Best bet would be to check with your local gov body.
@@bourkey07 Oh you think australia is bad? Try Norway! one could almost think that there was a clause against anything fun being allowed on the roads.... thats why Gatebil is so full of insane cars without registration.
The iC-7 is plug'n'play to replace a Haltech/Racepak IQ3(s) in a Haltech CAN system. The iC-7 CANNOT be used in a Racepak VNet CAN system. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our sales and support staff.
On release this dash will only work with all current Haltech ECUs via a CAN network and with late model OEM ECUs using the factory OBD-II port (via CAN).
@@haltech Hopefully soon! CAN needs to be both ways ♥ When you run drive by wire you don't have many inputs left. Adding boxes makes it harder to mount and wire neatly. If display can be used as analogue input saves space. Look forward to seeing more integrated ecus and lower prices :) Hopefully means more business for me, less work in wiring, and less expense to the customer. Ecu master is very competitive and compact alternative
On release it will not work with other aftermarket ECUs. Only with Haltech ECUs and with most late model vehicles using the factory OBD-II port (via CAN) .
He just insulted my country, my culture, and my manhood with that fast and furious put down!!!!!! I never made fun of Crocodile Dundee!!!!!! Can the screens be fully customized? Actually place gauges and other items where you like, scale gauges and items, use your own backgrounds etc? Also, can information gathered on the input channels be sent through the CAN to the Haltech ECU? For instance, if I used the IC-7 channels for 4 wheel speed sensors, can I send that back to the elite 2500 for traction control purposes? Looks like a great product. And I agree about the touch screen not being useful on a dash display. I wonder if a steering wheel mounted button can be used to flip screen pages?

Brah the danger to manifold hahah im defiantly gonna set that one up 🤣🤣
Hey guys will it have turn signal, high beam/low beam and odometer features and if so will it be ADR approved
It currently has turn signal, high beam/low beam, etc. ODO is something we're hoping to add in a future firmware release.
@@haltech just wondering if there is any update on the odometer features?
As an alternative to ODO, an engine hour meter would be useful.

LOVE that there's no touchscreen. Wish OEMs would take notice along with including actual buttons.
Hi I have a Nissan S15 Silvia, thinking of the Elite 2000 unit. Will this work with the set up I want?
This would complement my Elite 1500 nicely
If I put fuel pressure sensor and oil pressure sensor into ic7 etc... will it display on my elite ECU ? As it's connected via CAN
Does this do data logging?
Will it be compatible with your Adaptronic range of ECUs?
Makes you wonder wonder what difference is between this and say a android running torque with an obd2 dongle, one that comes to mind is torque you can datalog
If I had an elite series ecu I wouldn’t want an OBD run dash. Counter productive in a lot of ways.

❤️❤️
Those this IC7 stay ON while the engine is being cranked so one can see vital sensors during the cranking sequence.
as long as you have power going to the dash (>7V) the dash will stay on.
