Carol I have to walk through my yard every day, which is over an acre, and pull them up. I have a spray bottle of bleach, and I give the little hole they leave behind a quick spray. They are gradually disappearing from the yard. My knucklehead miniature pinscher will eat them. My bff is a veterinarian and she said that the majority of time they're harmless but some are extremely toxic. One friends greyhound ate a red colored mushroom and about 6 hours later began to show neurological symptoms like staggering. Nothing could be done at that point to save the dog. Now she walks her dogs in muzzles to keep them from eating them. That guy who replied that dogs won't eat them has never been around a dog like mine....she will eat ANYTHING!!!!!!

I’d really advise against putting bleach or any other harmful chemical in your soil, you’ll contaminate the local groundwater and ruin your garden. It isn’t even an effective method anyway. The fungi are there for a reason and are beneficial for your garden. Keep an eye on your dogs and pick any toxic mushrooms to compost or dispose of.
This was not helpful at all. I do all of this already and mushrooms still grow. It seems the only thing that'll work that this video mentioned is to dig out the lawn, dig the under ground out and replace it. If that's what you meant.
@@Eueueyw I'm trying to get rid of them for good. Not keep picking them every year. They grow overnight, so I usually don't see them until it's time to let me dog out for the day. It's a hassle and a nuisance.

I have a ring of mushrooms in my lawn. It was a former soybean/corn/wheat field. No trees around there for over 100 years.

Dogs won’t eat mushrooms. If it worries you that much just pick them and compost them.

I also read that spraying vinegar in your yard will get rid of them. Haven't tried it yet because I hate the smell of vinegar.

Miss Will That’s not really possible unless you pave over your entire garden. Mushrooms are really good for your soil, just keep an eye on your dogs.
