This entire song up to the last line was song from the point of view of one of Ren's best friends Joe; who committed suicid... Joe was calling everyone saying goodbye. Ren rushed out the door and got to where he jumped from mins late... "I don't feel safe in this bed, voices in my head" "over the hills and valleys below it follows me back home; and it suffocates me". Sin and Fear follow him everywhere he goes. "I wish I could get up and walk out of this tomb" (the tomb here is Joe's mind that he is trapped in with cycling thoughts).
The live version to me... Is OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing.... Face to face singing/eye contact SOOO many raw emotions and thoughts of real life experiences while remaining in pitch, beat, note, and harmony. Masterful...
My favorite part of this adventure is the shared camaraderie between all three of you. Anthony, always enjoy your insights. Caine, lovely that you opened up a bit and Jordan, kudos for nodding when your brother said he has you to count on. Although Jordan doesn't have a mic, we can see his silent appreciation with his head nods and his smiles. It's been a joy watchin' you all. Thank you for sharing!
I love the cry that Chinchilla has in this song, her voice is enchanting and haunting at the same time. So much emotion. In the live version Ren is singing so soft and like they said totally in the zone. The Studio version they are more balanced, but still amazing. Its also awesome how this hits people different, also a great thing about Ren, here is a song with Raw emotion (insert your emotion here)

Ive been binge watching reactions to Rens Suicide. Ive never felt a song so deeply as its a subject embedded in my soul personally so ive been crying all morning thats how truly raw it was. That said im now trying to resist that long term sadness ive carried for decades now. Im listening as im typing and idk this one's deep as well but ill be good now hopefully. ❤Love this song so much. It should be on the Radio. Her real name is Daisy. They are so good together. Hope they do an album together. Chinchilla's are not good pets. I Rescued a male who had personality, but they wont sit still, thier hard to catch and they eat any cable or cord they find. They also live for 26 years. Kids are threw college and your still cleaning cages. Ended up rescueing a female as well. When the kids were all moved out I sold her for the price of all her gear. Unfortunately the male got a hold of the vacuum cord while it was still plugged in and passed away period but he was 20 years old. And it shocked me he didn't do that to himself ahead of time he went through 3VCR's Chords and 1DVD player 12 game ChargersI can't count how many other things he ate up but somehow he never electriculated himself before. He also ate a 5" wide whole threw my drywall. All this from his cage. The female was like a paperweight. Probably over bread. Thier cute but thier bones are like toothpicks and thier not good for family pets. Coats either😳

This is one of my favorite Ren songs, adnd the performance is stunning. I wanted to clear up some misinformation that well-meaning people pass on about the How To Be being shot on the bridge Joe Hughes jumped from. There are several moments in the video in which a light-colored brick wall is visible on the right, glass doors or windows on the left, and the railing is too light-duty to be that of a bridge. I'm not sure how this story began, but I've only heard it in the last few months since Ren has become more well-known.
Joe jumped from the Menai Bridge, which connects mainland Wales to the island of Anglesey. I've been across the Menai Bridge two times and can tell you that it's a beautiful, substantial, stone and wrought iron Victorian structure, and I can't imagine that it's the location of this video. There are some great photos of the bridge online. I'm not sure, but the Menai bridge may have been the first modern-engineered suspension bridge in the world. I kow it's at least one of the earliest.
I've never seen or heard the location of the How to Be Me video spoken about by anyone who would have been there, but an outing of 90+ miles from Brighton would likely be documented and result in more than a single video It could have possibly been shot in the same location Bongo Bong was shot-the roof outside the flat shared by Gorran, Romaine, and Ren-but I can't see the same view in any other Big Push video. I don't have expert knowlege, and I could be wrong, but it seems better (for me) to not repeat the story until it's confirmed. We all know how social media can perpetuate misinformation. Someone should ask Ren about the location the next time he does a chat.

20:00 I haven't read all of the comments that would explain what you are wondering about. Ren had one of his best friends jump off a bridge when they were teenagers and it made him really sad. The thing is that when Ren was suffering with his misdiagnosed illness and was suffering horrendously and having a severe breakdown, he wanted to S-word; but, chose not to because he did not want his friends and family to suffer like he did when his friend passed.
First videos I've watch of yours mate, gonna consume some more. But don't apologize about the Dutch please! If you are worried about us ignorant English only speakers, sub titles would be a okay fix. switch to that to get your point across to each other makes me feel Ren really had you thinking a feeling what you said. (also love that ren is bring all these new reactors and artists to my attention. Loving the Ren-aissance!)

It's about his friend Joe that jumped off the bridge late one night. Ren ran to try and stop him but he missed him by only a few minutes. Joe's body was never found. Ren and chinchilla are actually singing this song on the same bridge. It was a live performance filmed in one take.
They are on a balcony. It’s not the bridge. You can even see a building to the left. It’s possibly the same balcony as the Genesis live video. I’ve not compared the two though so don’t take my word for it.

This prob been said a thousand times, but this def about his friend joe who committed suicide, I believe he missed a text or call from him, and when he woke up he found out he lept of a bridge and his body was swept out to sea. The semi-colon is reference to suicide. Now this only my own theory.
But at the end of the song he says "I miss you so" but I have this theory that the original last line was "I miss you joe" the friend he lost.
Chinchilla is SO fine though. something about her energy and power is so attractive to me, as well as her looks, as a woman in a straight relationship hahaha
