CV 90 is the best capability balanced IFV available. It's not too big or too small. Armoured enough for its role but not too heavy. It occupies the Goldie Locks zone for IFVs. I am wondering how an updated version of the Strv 103 would fare in a combat environment like Ukraine. By the time it is retired all evaluations are based on tank vs tank operations. Possibly it would be less vulnerable to asymmetric warfare than T-72s. Of course, many things would depend on the type of updates, possibly adaptation of chobham armour (or better like Epsom), increase in situational awareness, and of course, tank fielding philosphy.
I altso wonder about the schock? Every country need an IFV suited to there land and climate! We tested other countries IFV, they was not made for snow, Rasputitia or even driving trough a bog! Its this, there is almoste no other countries making any sort of military equipment to use in a subarctartitc warfare!
"Stridsfordon 90" wasn't any conglomerate of people making the cv-90 😂 It's simply the original Swedish name for the vehicle and means literally CombatVehicle 90 kinda obviously the full name of the abbreviation of "cv" don't you think? Bebbeh Jeebus wept... 😂
Where does the number 90 come from however? Its like our Glock 17's in the Swedish military , a Glock 17 has nothing to do with the number 88, Glock 17 in our military is named pistol 88. Glock 17 came out in 1982, and orginal its powered in 9mm parabellum now there is a vast range of different ammo types for a Glock 17, but none of them have anything to do with "88" i get why people ask questions about the name on the cv90 as there is no single explanation why its called that, other countries military hardware make some sense when it comes to naming, the leopard 1 came before the leopard 2. So did the tiger 1 before the tiger 2. Swedish military names makes no fking sense at all most of the times, the only vehicle hardware that makes sense to me is "Archer" that shit is new and has no real identical counterpart what so ever, and it doesent have numbers in the name, stridsvagn122 doesent make any sense either as its just a leopard 2 with som upgraded hardware
@@jimmiekarlsson4458 the Glock 17 was introduced for Swedish military service around 1988 hence Pistol 88. Strv 122 means the second tank with a 120mm gun introduced into service, the first was the Leopard 2A4 's aka Strv 121 leased from Germany. The CV-90 are actually called CV-9040 for the 40mm gunned version. International 35mm equipped ones are called CV-9035. The huge number of items and systems labeled with '90' in Sweden was due to the major upgrade of many things military around 1990. For example uniform m90, CV-90 IFV, ksp 90, air base type 90 and so on. So any gun used in a combat vehicle, not rifle or pistol, uses the calibre as part of the designation. Strv 103 was the third tank using 105mm gun, strv 122 is the second using 120mm. Artillery however, does not use the vehicle designation system. They use the same kind of designation sequence as for small arms. Archer is 'Artillerisystem 08', for the year it was decided to buy it. Its predecessor was 'Fälthaubits 77' or field haubits 77.
The CV 90 is a Mean Machine, best in its Class,Ukraine's got 50 with more to come rumor says. Sweden has stopped all export to other nations to give priority to Ukraine🇺🇦🇸🇪
We Belgians should have bought it instead of the French Jaguar. In particular the 120mm version would have solved the problem that we don´t have MBT´s anymore.
"The crown of Swedish defence"...No I'd say the list over the most important Swedish made military equipment goes more like this: No1, JAS 39 Gripen (fighter aircraft built for air superiorety/attack and surveillance) No2, Gotland class submarine (best non nuclear sub in the world, can stay under the surface for weeks) No3, Visby Class Stealth Corvette (perfect for missions in the wast Swedish archipilago and the Baltic sea) No4, Archer Artillary System (self prepelled, self loading, shoot and scoot 155mm howitzer) No5, CV90 (Worlds best IFV) Honorable mentions: Erieye/Global Eye (airborne radar surveillance and command system) RBS15 (Surface to surface/air to surface anti ship missile) Carl Gustav Recoiless Rifle (reusable anti tank/anti bunker/anti personell system) AT4 Anti tank Rifle (the newest version can be fired from inside a inclosed space if needed) Bofors 40mm auto cannon (an oldie but a goodie that constantly gets reinvented into new weapon systems...) The list goes on, but you get the picture...😉👍
The war in Ukraine shows that when things get serious quantity still beats quality. I think we will see the return of the light tank, rebranded IFV. With active protection, drones and ATGMs, and the more expensive, more valuable MBT’s just sniping from a distance, the IFV/light tanks will do most of the work.

"The crown of Swedish defence"...No I'd say the list over the most important Swedish made military equipment goes more like this:
No1, JAS 39 Gripen (fighter aircraft built for air superiorety/attack and surveillance)
No2, Gotland class submarine (best non nuclear sub in the world, can stay under the surface for weeks)
No3, Visby Class Stealth Corvette (perfect for missions in the wast Swedish archipilago and the Baltic sea)
No4, Archer Artillary System (self prepelled, self loading, shoot and scoot 155mm howitzer)
No5, CV90 (Worlds best IFV)
Honorable mentions:
Erieye/Global Eye (airborne radar surveillance and command system)
RBS15 (Surface to surface/air to surface anti ship missile)
Carl Gustav Recoiless Rifle (reusable anti tank/anti bunker/anti personell system)
AT4 Anti tank Rifle (the newest version can be fired from inside a inclosed space if needed)
Bofors 40mm auto cannon (an oldie but a goodie that constantly gets reinvented into new weapon systems...)
The list goes on, but you get the picture...😉👍
I got to drive one 8 years ago, was fun, didn't have training or permission tho.. 😅
Think it was the CV9030
The war in Ukraine shows that when things get serious quantity still beats quality. I think we will see the return of the light tank, rebranded IFV. With active protection, drones and ATGMs, and the more expensive, more valuable MBT’s just sniping from a distance, the IFV/light tanks will do most of the work.
CV90 cannon punches through T-72M1 armor. I would not like to be a russian conscript with these around.
these crappy swedish toys got completly destroyed by Russia in ukraine, sweden is a slave country just like most small eurpoean countries running to usa begging for help
Hate to be standing outside if a round comes in ,
The reason why The UK did not buy these Brilliant Vehicles is Some Lord or friend of a Tory MP would not get their Back Hander, MoD procurement needs scrapping.
I am left wondering why the US Army would choose the M10 Booker over this platform.
Guys, dont be too hard on the poor russian muppets, they've never seen real actual news, it's not their fault. XD
Ditch the Ajax for the CV90
Rumors have it that only a handful of Strykers and Cv90s wrecked havoc in the Stepove pocket and Russia has got no more armor
Yes rumors from Ukraines department of truth...

Sweden i awesome when it comes to weapons.
WHAT DOES IT COST? PRICE OF A RUSSIAN T90MS TANK MAYBE. SEEMS AS WE SHOULDNT SCRAP THOSE OLD T72 TO COMPLEMENT THE MODERN TANKS SO THE MODERN TANKS DONT WASTE AMMO. WITH CERTAIN SECRET UPGRADES. USE THEM TOGETHER WITH MODERN TANKS IN A WEDGE ATTACKING FORMATION. SWEDENS BEST IN THE WORLD TANKS HIDE IN UKRAINE.
you cant have the cv90105 in the thumbnail and then never show or talk about it...
the CV9040C is a very excellent off except that 40mm bofors。the AMAP SC NERA provides satisfying protection
Thank you for watching
If anyone says that a Bofors 40mm autocannon isnt necessary, they have not have the pleasure of seeing it in action
The 40mm is great.
the 40 mm is fucking good wht are you on about?
Is it true that there are plans to produce/assemble it in Ukraine?
I can just say we sweds are good makeing weapons and so on and if you dont like what you see just walk away
That shock nobody
Sure, but how does it compare to its competitors?
Skoda ?
Clickbait and calls it a "tank" - 1/5 stars. A video about CV90 - 5/5!
Sweden might have been neutral for so long...But we know how to build good stuff ;)

Super tank development.
love it =)
uk looked at it and said nahhh fuck it we will spend 1 billion on a vehicle for recon that sounds like a transit with a bag of spanners in the back and no-one else will want because we just use tax payers money
Looks amazing but.... combat testing proves all
i need this in war thunder
I'm sure they are quite good, but in reality, against a capable enemy, they are shot like rabbits in the Donbass, like every other tank.
That its the best IFV for me. And Im prozd ee Czechs got it.
It's good alright... but like any armoured vehicle it can be neutralized by a relatively cheap drone :/ . Drones are a game changer and it will be interesting to see what counter measures will be conjured up.
Swedish "army": 15 000 :D I think 50 CV-50. For first week of war :D
Jag gillar.
Yepp, allt har med kunskap/utbildning att göra. Sätt en stradivarius i händerna på en bilmekaniker......det funkar inte heller

your welcome :)
There are no real and enough experience of these new generation vehicles. Even of those which are deployed in the war in Ukrain. Their enemies there are usually very old soviet modells. Probably lots of them also vulnerable against cheap anti tank weapons, drone attacks.
please ....
?
@@yamahass66 "shocked the world" :D:D:D
@UnderTheBanner Probably the best ifv, May have shocked some people.
SWEDEN BUILTS MILITARY QUALITY

This type is Good for PH
Yeah better than sabrah
Guess why NATO need Sweden.
Important is.IFV can hold ICBM i sure if save from ICBM never worry with ATGM
Everything looks perfect on paper. Until he gets into real combat, amid mud, mines and artillery barrage. Then comes another shock. What we thought, and what came out
I sugest that you listen to the pronounciation of words in other languages before recording, because you really butchered "stridsfordon" to an inrecognizable mess there... 🙄
Imate u moskvi goilu tih gusenicara unisteni sa Rpg 7
An also javelin destroyed t90s
Stop with you “Shocked the world” If you need click bait then shut down your channel because Our our swedish CV90 Have not shocked the world. If you need to lie to get clicks then you do something wrong
the comments are read bye donald duck
This Combat Vehicle SHOCKED The World ??
No it didn't, in fact no one has ANY idea what you're on about! 🤣😂
Its burning already in Ukraine
Id say, strap a box with a baloon and 4K kamera attached to it and 15 spares and the thing could keep an eye out for what is around it very cheaply AND use an integrated drone. Learn from the Ukrainians amazing ingenuity using shit budget but creativity to success AND use high tech drones. Shit, a box with 5 commercial 360 angle drones in a cardboard box with a high def camera glued to the top of a donkey would make an amazing capability. No one expects the Spanish...donkey to be...you see what I mean Makes a real difference.
CV90 >>> Bradley
Still no modern thinking. You sit and look in a lyb, a small screen.
No high scraps on the amunition.
Cannon moves inside a small area.
Electronics are ok, but should be improved in view of various very eFective hand weapons that easily knock out these monsters.
Closed: Much that should be improved. A brand new model and not further development !!!
He-he. The russians destroyed a few CV-90 in Ukraina using handheld RPG. The russians said these vehicles are not suted for war but should only be used in training excercises.
Any video title with the word "shocked" gets an automatic dislike and a don't recommend this channel from me.
SHOCK is just hyperbole. Stop with the BS.
Lmao this guy gets shocked by a toothbrush I bet to! He loves the Shocked title thinking itll make his video of statements he googled and put in a video sound better. These guys make copy n paste videos and give no real world info you cant get from the manufacturer yourself. So pointless
Despite it's might it still burns in Ukraine.
