Into the Fly Zone - Hiking California Road In Late Spring | Good Idea or Bad?

The dogs and I head over to California Road, northeast of the hamlet of Enterprise, Ontario for a hike since we haven't been here for quite a while. Today starts a warmup in the weather that will eventually lead into our first major, week long heat warning of the year. Luckily we can get this hike in before temperatures have risen too much and we end this hike at around 27C.

Beautiful video! A very attractive road. And all the vegetation appears so lush, and healthy. Great thumbnail as well! That heat wave was brutal! Very thick humidity.
So refreshing, when the cool air blew in yesterday. All three of you were troopers, getting your hike in. In spite of the flies, and heat.Very intense volume of flies.

do the ontario deer flies leave long term welts when they bite humans. they do where we live. cheers.

Varies by person. I think if you get bit many times over many years you probably develop a bit of resistance. I used to welt up more and longer than I do now. You may have different species there too.
