Ahhh.....my WHITE WHALE!!! The hardest fish to catch in NJ by far. Your videos are so darn good Dillon! Keep up the good work. I really think your channel is gonna explode soon especially once we get the Keys footage. Come on everyone!! Spread the word!! Let's get this channel more subsribers
Great Great Vid Dillon. I like the brief history you gave. I am an older fisherman, so I remember when winter flounder fishing was Fierce. Really Fierce. Every River and back bay held a healthy population of fish. Enjoyed watching you do your thing...I'm inspired!
Great videos Dillon! Also, great catch! I tried fishing this spot last week for winter flounder and came up empty. I have to try bloodworms next time. Funny how some people think you’re fishing in an illegal spot. You’re absolutely fishing in a LEGAL spot, you just can’t fish into the area where the boat slips are for obvious reasons. Keep up the great work! Tight lines!
You should have seen how epic the flounder fishing was in the 70s, right off where you were fishing. In rental rowboats anchored and chumming. UL rods. Flat out fantastic right up to Sandy Hook. In the 80s was epic in Raritan bay, from Keyport to Princes Bay. Then there was the Navesink/Shrewsbury fishery…Miss those guys.
I think that was a clear nose ray - Have a Happy New Year. How come you aren't hitting the bridges like 609? He seems to be finding plenty of fish? Love the concept of this video.
I fish mainly the Delaware Bay and beaches and back bays south of Sea Isle- mostly muddy bottoms in the Delaware Bay and the back bays where I fish. I was told those fish like sandy bottoms. Cool unicorn fish and its pretty cool to catch something from shore in December. I'm looking forward to March but not looking forward to using those awful expensive bloodworms for stripers.
Make a chum ladle out of a cat food can (or just cut the can you just used if you still have it) and screw it to a broken fishing rod or wood dowel. You can use the ladle to mix up your chum and also throw the chum further and with less mess on your hands.
Gotta find a mud flat. On sunny days the dark color of the mud will be warmed by sun look for 4 to 10 feet of water u can use clam chum logs in a minnow trap to chum with
@Dillon Its better right out of the inlet down to the right past the boats , that spot isnt bad tho shout out to the SR if you know you know. My buddies SeeVee is docked right around here during the summer.
I limit out everytime I fish shark river. They are plentiful. And the reason no one is there is because you went later in the season. I was done fishing there in November
Two different species, one inhabits coastal areas in the summer, the other in the winter. You can tell the difference as their mouths open in different directions.
U are to young to remember the Weak fish in the mid 80's early 90's. U could fill the boat. Culling fish in a few hours. Those days are long gone but last couple years I've caught quite a few decent fish few inches over legal
We can thank draggers for the low numbers of fluke and winter flounder around. They let them drag offshore where all the fluke go during the winter and they absolutely destroy the population. They’re not supposed to drag the raritan bay at all and I always catch them out there nets down I report them but seems they don’t care. Whatever keeps the money machine rolling and screw the recreational guys. Would love to see winter flounder come back to the raritan bay along with weakfish.

Thanks Chris
Love the no fishing area sign 🪧 in the background!!!
Boat ramp on that side of the bulkhead. So sign is there to keep people's gear from interfering with launch and load of boats.
Dude, you’re doing a great job with the videos. Keep it up. I’m from Jersey, and I’m happy to see you representing!
That's called dedicated persistence fishing.
Good job bro.

I’ll never forget the random all or nothing trip I made from Virginia in 2017 when I discovered this spot. Excellent video brother.

Wow..props to you for hunkering down and grinding it out, brother. Well done, D. See you in the next video
You were pretty excited about the shell! Skates are cool. At least you know life's going on down there!
Sick job. Congrats on the winter flounder! So cool.
🤙
You were about 2 weeks late as we crushed the winter flounder the week before Thanksgiving. FYI, that looked to be a clear-nosed skate.
that was awesome, great job, great footage, excellent all the way around!
World record Unicorn was caught in Raritan Bay in??? 2006? 2007? Something like that in the Spring. It's real fishing. You and Reaper, Chris.
Nice dude, the true NJ unicorn.
The bloodworms are superior to sandworms I have found because they stay on the hook better....nice video, love the flounder!

Love the "No Fishing Sign" behind you! Always fun watching your videos! Keep up the great work! If your ever in Ventnor City, DM me!

6:10 no fishing area XD
That’s a tremendous effort for a fish with little to no fight or fillets 😂😂
Bro... I really was thinking you caught a flounder that first catch lol
Go for them a good week before thanksgiving. People caught them off the inlet that connects to the backbay you were fishing.
Nice video Dillon. In the winter months can you still target tog off the jetties/land or do they move from the jetties to the offshore wrecks?
You can still pick a few from deeper wholes but the overwhelming majority are offshore

Clear nose skate
Did you notice the eyes on the Winter flounder are on the opposite side of their body from the Summer fluke? Summer faces left, Winter faces right.
The spot is good in the summer for flounder
One of my favorite fishing spots
Yes very rare fish.on my boat sometimes near sandy hook in the bay while fluking we catch one as by catch.its only happened twice.

U should be able to find some on the back or the north end tip on inlet there’s a mussel bed where the grass starts about 30 yards out
Gotta find a mud flat. On sunny days the dark color of the mud will be warmed by sun look for 4 to 10 feet of water u can use clam chum logs in a minnow trap to chum with
Hey your minute from my house...... I remember filling 5 gallon buckets at the Tennis Courts in Belmar by first week in Nov. be well.
They netted Shark River to Death........commercial fishing killed the Flounder Fishery just like the Whiting, Ling, n Cod ....
I’m heading to New Jersey tomorrow. Barnegat light or manasquan would be the better location for surf fishing or tautog
Try 3 casts per spot then move Dillan. Left right then straight. Use smaller portions of chum
@Dillon Its better right out of the inlet down to the right past the boats , that spot isnt bad tho shout out to the SR if you know you know. My buddies SeeVee is docked right around here during the summer.
They really changed that spot
Where is this in nj. I know it was some time ago on video but I’m always looking for new spots to fish. If u dnt mind saying where is there a fee ?
Hello guys👋👋👋, great video👍

I thought you were in marathon!!!!
Where is this exactly location bro? I really want to try this place out… if you don’t mind me asking thanks
It's in "Flounderville" New Jersey ! 😃
Cownose rays come in there too
The one fish I never caught and I try every year.
This Belmar?
did you taste any of the chum?
What's up with the "no fishing area" sign ? Maybe that's why there's nobody fishing😆 Thanks for the video
That’s just for the end of the bulkhead where there are boats tied up in season
You do realize the sign behind you says, No Fishing Area... lol
I limit out everytime I fish shark river. They are plentiful. And the reason no one is there is because you went later in the season. I was done fishing there in November
Is this oyster creek?
Back in the day we used to pound them in the navesink river …
Where exactly is this spot? It looks like a perfect spot for wheelchair user like myself to fish.
Nice video bro..
I enjoy your video thank you
Where in Jersey are you from?
Whats difference between WF ,flounder ,fluke or summer flounder?
Serious teeth in the fluke whereas the WF eats worms, mussels etc.
Two different species, one inhabits coastal areas in the summer, the other in the winter. You can tell the difference as their mouths open in different directions.
I subscribed friend stay connected great video 👍👍
Where in Jersey where you?

My grandfather always talks about the weakfish
I remember the weakfish, they were all over jersey back then.
There's a trick to catching them white rice
Rare Dillon? Come on dude.
In relation to their previous population levels and other popular fish species in NJ, certainly.
Where is the place? Please send me address I want to come.
On the bay end of the point pleasant canal in late March/early April is a good spot for them
You should not be keeping winter flounder in nj help save flounder
Did I keep one?
You in a no fishing area just letting you no now
no, I’m not
go play in traffic like a good kid..

I heard they don't have to follow size limits like recreational fishing.
