What made this even more exciting and impressive was the fact. All day nothing could get up from off the pace.. and half way king of steel was being ridden along .. incredible end to the day
I love 'King Of Steel', I've backed him twice and he won both times, at Royal Ascot and also yesterday in the Champion Stakes, that was a great race and a brilliant ride from Frankie, the horse was so determined, he showed great heart and fight there to get the win, also coming from last to first, on a day where it was favouring front runners and prominent runners! AWESOME HORSE. 😃👍🏇
The way Frankie sat on that horse whipping it to within an inch of it's life while it rode to near exhaustion was a sight to behold. Fantastic to watch a true "sportsman" in action.
I don't know what race you were watching, BHA rules are 7 times a jockey can use the whip, I counted 3 times Dettori used it, the rest was hands and heels, had it been as you said, he would have been disqualified.
What a fitting reception he got, been the face and personality of racing for so long. Unfortunately like other sports like snooker and formula 1 there is a lack of fun characters coming through so interviews are usually quite boring nowadays with most jockeys giving robot like responses

From what I saw in the 2 races he won , Frankie moved both horse of the rail.... maybe 10 yards. Perhaps the track was a tad deep, so he made an adjustment. He one race he won the horse leading was on the rail. Frankie moved his horse out. So, it appears the rail horse was slogging along and it gave Frankie the chance to run by him.
The winner here has been confirmed retired to stud after failing to recover from injuries which had kept him off the racecourse since the beginning of this season.
Dettori isn't a great jockey. That title should be reserved for such as Lester Piggott and Steve Cauthen. However he is a good jockey amd we should all wish him the best of luck in his retirement. Good luck Frank y

I hope King of Steel stays in training, he'll be some horse as a 4 year old when he grows up, i don't think Dettori fancied a flying dismount on this one for some reason 😂
King Of Steel is a fine horse and all that doubted him are proved wrong! Obviously the best in the business took him from last to first and that’s what Frankie can do not the horse deserves some credit!!

Sorry, Frankie was a bit lucky. He got stuck behind a wall of horses, had to go the long way round, but he had the horse with the best engine and King of Steel is a very powerful horse who ran on strongly as the others tied up in the ground after a strong gallop. Great horse, but not Frankie’s best ride.

The second horse was also last and went round the world then Murphy ldropped his stick and couldn't use it when he was attcked by the winner.
