Ive bought a repro clock spring from ebay for £24 & gong to fit this weekend this isa great video which is reasonably easy to fit for a diy mechanic with step by step instructions 😊
Thanks very much for this. My 2009 Qashqai+2 had a slightly different model of clock spring with two cables in the centre instead of one, but the process to remove the steering wheel and get to it were exactly the same. Much appreciated. Saved me some money!
@@lorcanfarrell9743 thanks. Swapped that spring clock but i still get airbag light on. I've rest it with key as OBD can't seet that code and doesn't delete it. So after key in ignition reset it blinks now one long and two short, supposedly that's 122 error. I'm at loss what else it could be. I've inspected tape on old spring clock and it's intact (buttons on wheel still working as they should)
Hey guys, just my experience to help you I hope. I did all this and the airbag light stayed on. I had a bit of trouble with the clips where they attach to the airbag itself(mine had two, one orange and one yellow) but I thought they were connected. In the end after lots of muttering to myself over a few days I removed and reconnected the two wires more snugly and it worked. I had to reset the airbag light with the ignition on/off a few times thing. If you replace this and it don't work, please reseat the wiring to the back of the airbag.

How much do you charge to replace one of these?

I'm glad it helped you and I'm glad you saved money
Hi mate. Do i have to disconnect battery? Trouble is i lost code for radio. So is disconnecting battery absolutely necessary?
Ta
Yes. Absolutely necessary. You don't want to have electrical power when accessing the airbag. It may go bang bang.
