Another excellent, clear, easy to follow video to help golfers get out of bunkers with little sand. It is always worthwhile to read the comments & replies. eg. This advice also works for wet sand. Many thanks for ALL your videos which help many golfers. Glad you have settled in to your new super venue.
Great explanation, the bunkers here in Colorado get really hard it is like hitting out of concrete at times. This really made those shots a lot easier.
Thank you for this excellent tip!!! I used it today on three different bunkers, and it worked perfectly. I got out of each bunker, and onto the green, with one shot each time. I was absolutely amazed how well it works.
Thank you, Julian, this video is like a bonus track to our session on Tuesday. Very helpful, especially now, when there was a lot of rain here in Hamburg, Germany.
Excellent tip Julian. Used in the last couple of days at our golf course and it really worked for me. Surprised how easy the shot was, with great results. Closing the face and ball in centre of stance, with not much effort in the swing really worked.
I see ... so all I've been doing wrong in hard packed bunkers for years ... is exactly everything (except for leaning back which I don't do) - and now I know. It's counterintuitive, but actually, perfect sense. Thanks Julian - I now WANT to get into a crappy bunker to try this out
Hi Julian..Great technique for shallow hard pan bunkers...what about deeper ones? My course has hard bunkers where the lip is as high as your head. Thanks
Now I want a video: How to win the Club Championship? LOLOLOLOL. All your videos have helped me. Also, never throw your club in anger at the range. I did that once. Thankfully, nobody saw me.
Julian Mellor Easiest Swing Golf Coach your videos always help I used to swing for the fenses and since watching I’ve cut back on the swing and got a little more accurate
Hi Julian, Thank you for this. A question: where are you striking the sand? At the ball (i.e. pick as clean as possible) a couple of inches behind the ball with a shallow approach? Cheers from Oz.
Hi, thanks for your comment, ideally you want to be striking fractionally behind the ball 2 inches would be too far, may I also take this opportunity to wish Oz all the best with the recent fires, terrible for all involved
You are by far the best when it comes to teaching me bunker shots !!!!!!!
That’s great to hear, I love bunkers and the easier I can make it the better 👍
Thanks so much. The only video for hard bunker lies that actually makes sense
My pleasure
So simple the excellent way you explain and demonstrate this skill. Thank you.
My pleasure Edwin

Thanks for another great video. I do land in bunkers occasionally, and ours are always wet and hard-
packed.

Thank you, pleased that it’s helped you with your bunkers in Colorado 👍

that's fantastic, it goes against our natural instincts but when you understand how bounce works then it becomes quite logical

That’s good Sven. 👍
This is gold. Every course I play has wet thin sand. I'll try this tomorrow!
Great
I just watched a dozen videos on wet packed or no sand bunkers and only you properly describe the problem. All the others had decent sand.
That's good then 😀
Great stuff Julian! Helped this past weekend 👍
Perfect 👌

Great to hear Alan, golfers will never know unless they try it , spread the word I say 😀
Also watched Natalie Adams set up out of a wet bunker and have tried both methods, preferring Julians.
Try both.
Great videos
Tried this out and worked like a charm on the hard bunkers at my club and I was surprised of how high a lip it would clear. Thanks.
Brilliant Eric

Give it a bit of practice and you’ll be fine 😀
Thanks from Massachusetts
Great! Very helpful...thank you. 🙂
well done! thanks!
My pleasure 👍
Very helpful
I have never thought of closing the club in these situations. Always tried to keep it square with no luck. Thanks Julian 👍
Hope it goes well for you 👍
👍💥new england golfers thank you, Julian.
Go out and practise it Dave and show your friends what you can do
Will do.
Legend again thank you very much
Kind words Greg
This is great
It works brilliantly
Hi Julian, thanks for this nice piece of information. Can we generally use the same technique for fairway hard pans by slightly closing the mid irons?
For sure 👍
Hi Julian..Great technique for shallow hard pan bunkers...what about deeper ones? My course has hard bunkers where the lip is as high as your head.
Thanks
I will be making a video on these this week and will post it on TH-cam by the weekend
Great Julian, would you do the same for wet sand? Thanks!
Yes you would Rick
Are you hitting behind the golf ball?
Fractionally
Are you hitting the ball clean or taking some sand
You can’t take much sand if it’s compact but certainly make an attempt to get the leading edge of the club under the ball
@@JulianMellor I was just wondering about where to focus your eyes that’s why I asked.
@@JulianMellor Tried this today and is was spot on. Many thanks.
Thanks. Close the club face shorter swing on hard flat sand...

Perfect cost me 7 shots today nice one
Not sure what you mean Tony
@@JulianMellor i went in 3 bunkers today hard none ranked sand 3 shots ever bunker 🤬
?
I like your videos Julian but I thought you’d grown your hair long at first as you’d stood in front of that tree! 😂
That’s funny lol, pleased you like the videos and you’d never see me with long hair lol 😂
Great video though the Audio wasn’t up to par
Working on the audio but pleased you found the information interesting 😀

Never mentioned if we are still hitting the sand 2” behind the ball...??🤷♂️
It’s a good guide Dave but depends on the depth of sand
This will help me get out of the shitty council owned bunkers at my local club lol
Hope it helps you get out of them 👍
If it's hard enough, with not a lot of lip, do the OMP and use your puttah! Good vid though!
If it’s safe to do so then yes of course 😀👍
