I feel that masters is extremely diluted in the Western countries unless one makes it to the top-notch universities. I will recommend students to go for PhD instead of bachelors or masters.

My daughter has got chance in MS biotechnology in university of Glasgow on year course, will it be worthy after an investment of 34 lakhs plus...she is btech in biotechnology and doing job in labvantage solution at Kolkata... your suggestion please
Glasgow is a good university. The masters degree will be useful but the job prospects will depend on the visa issues. The student may be able to get full funding for phd later if they do well in the masters degree. The money spent depends on the individual financial state of the person. If the person comes back to India it will take some time To get a job and recover the money spent. Useful video explained in a simple way. I am a parent from Kerala state. I am basically looking at MS in Biomedical Engineering in another 3 years time. Is USA a good option for this for a middle class Indian student given the huge finance needed and the uncertainty of H1B visa after completing the course and OPT period, etc? Are moderately priced universities like University of Central Florida, South Florida, University of Texas at Austin and at College Station good in this field?
Thank you for your comment. USA is a good options but the problem like you mention has two parts. One is the cost of the degree. A way to handle this issue is to go for cheaper universities like the ones you mentioned. The costs of tution for out of state students should be considered here for state universities. The second problem is that of getting a job. Up to three years job is possible under f1 practical training in stem fields. After that h1b is needed. But getting the first job can be hard. Also USA economy is always on a boom and bust cycle. So sometimes it is easy to get jobs but other times like now there are many layoffs. If we are going for cheaper universities like the ones in Texas and Florida compared to more expensive states like California when it comes to Biomedical Eng, the main concern is if students will get ample job or OPT opportunities after the course. I guess California and Massachusetts has the biggest number of Biomedical companies when compared to Florida or Texas....so its a tricky situation for middle class students from India when it comes to choosing the universities. My info may not be 100% correct....just based on my internet browsing. @@Drganguli
