  • I wonder what the owner or driver's motivation was to avoid naming themselves to the police? It's not as though he/she got any fewer points, and the fine was rather a lot more. I also wonder if he's a Posh Customs employee?

      Does it matter if someone politely kills you opposed to rudely killing you? People value politeness way too much. You will see someone advocating for the most disgusting thing, but in a polite manner and people will appreciate them, while they will go apeshit over someone being in the complete right, doing the right thing, being a hero ... but being rude while at it. Kinda ridiculous.

      There have been many such incidents caught on his videos. Unfortunately nothing can be done about those people because as cyclists they don’t legally have to attach a number plate to their bicycle nor do they have to pay third party insurance in order to ride on the highway. In other words they’re a law unto themselves.

    • @CyclingMikey
      @CyclingMikey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm fine with police dealing with them, and I don't approve of their jumping the lights. The facts, however, show that it's not dangerous to others, and it's why police don't often deal with RLJing cyclists. Moreover, there's nothing I can do about it personally. If you want to see a classic example of the difference in danger posed by these RLJers, google "LN51 XNG" where you will see two lawbreakers, the driver being very dangerous, and the cyclist not at all.

    • @BigbubbaJ1000
      @BigbubbaJ1000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CyclingMikey I believe all law breakers should be punished or better still it’d be great if we all obeyed the laws. Regardless of the lack of dangers you say the cyclists don’t impose they should still obey the laws. Then at least they could quote this fact to the car drivers. I could stand on any junction in London and film hundreds of cyclists jumping lights etc putting themselves in unnecessary danger. Lead by example cyclists 👍

    It's drivers like that who sit at green lights or roll forwards into other vehicles because they forget that they are stopping the vehicle due to being so focused on the phone. They also are the ones who accelerate into a stationary vehicle when they hear vehicles accelerate off next to them (right turn drivers).
    Just today I was the 6th vehicle in a turn lane controlled by lights. The arrow went green and no movement for about 3 seconds from the first vehicle. He/she / it slowly took off and then did a u-turn. The 2nd vehicle went through as it turned orange (start of red stage) and the next 2 vehicles just ran the red light. Of course I stopped for the red as did the vehicle in front of me.
    5 minutes later the light went greeen again to turn. The vehicle in front paused for about 1 second then slowly took off and performed a u-turn. I got through as quick as I could so I wouldn't hold up traffic and the 3rd vehicle was still busy being distracted and would have gone through on the orange / red.

    You should do what you do at Gandalf's Corner here (Westbourne Terrace/ Bishops Bridge Road). So many people use the middle lane to get ahead of traffic both going straight and turning left. In this video the council hadn't burnt out the markings but the middle lane is a clearly marked cycle lane now. The people doing it know exactly what they are doing, that they are breaking the law, driving in a dangerous manner and usually the worst offenders are the usual BMW, Audi, Merc and uber drivers
