I've been to many car scenes and many car cultures in the nearly ten years of me making automotive TH-cam videos. I've been all around the United States, and even did a small documentary on Hawaii's car culture showcasing how an island can make some of the best tight nit communities. However I had no idea what I had in store when I visited the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is another Hidden car culture that the world needs to know about. Toyota Corolla,Mazda RX-7's, even twin turbo Lamborghini's drive around this island that is an afterthought to many. Welcome to Puerto Rico: The Hidden Car Culture. Thanks for watching!

As for my title- PR isn’t totally hidden, but when I told several people on the mainland of the US I was going to Puerto Rico to film car stuff the answer was always “why would you go there?”

A lot of people in the mainland are sleeping on Puerto Rico. I always have to explain to my friends that they can travel to PR with NO visa or passport. US citizens are very welcomed, as well as anyone from other countries!

Thank you for featuring PR. I'm originally from there and a lot of my car influences come from my upbringing. Not only is it a very welcoming scene, but there are a LOT of very talented people who make due with what they have to work with. I hope you got to see some cars that you typically wouldn't see built, turning heads. I'm pretty sure I've seen every budget model from every car maker on the island souped up and done properly (Hyundai/Kia, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Suzuki..)
Being Puerto Rican, we have big pride in our culture. Thanks David for showing me something I didn't even know about my home.
Puerto Rico is known for it's strong car culture. In fact, a lot of Latin American countries have a strong car culture in general, but not as great as Puerto Rico's. I live in Brazil and our car culture is also pretty interesting.

When I saw the title Of the video first thing that came into mind was "okay another video thats just going to bash us because we have a different style and most of the cars we have are not that expensive" and yet i watched it all and I really enjoyed it because it showed the truth I'm really proud to be Puerto Rican and i'm glad its getting recognition it deserves

I grew up in PR from the late 80's to the mid 90's, and even back then the car culture was ahead of the game before I saw anything similar to it in the states. It was not until The fast & the furious movies that the car cauture in the US grew outside of California and caught up. But even then the car cauture in PR is another level.
You should really see Indonesia, the car culture there is kind of underrated for what it really is.
Besides Jakarta Meet Up, The Elite or any high end meets, nothing to really see

Man this really hit the feels... I was born in the island and now live in Chicago. When I was a kid my parents owned an 87 Mustang GT. That car is the reason i am in car culture. I still remember my mom pulling up to lights to race with me in the car.

I drive an fb rx7 and I swear out of all the guys who stop to talk to me, half of them are Puerto Ricans. They always say how Japanese cars, especially mazdas, are huge on the island. It'll be awesome to get a better look at what it's like there.
