You probably have heard oldest-sister Kasumi's voice before. She's performed by Kikuko Inoue, who has been in a ton of things since the late 80s. You mentioned Full Metal Alchemist: She was Lust in FMA:B. She's one of the original voice actors (most? all?) reprising their roles from the original series.
@@TheGenreVerse Speaking of FMA:B. The other older sister Nabiki is Envy. If you have seen Detective Conan, you can recognize the same voice as Conan Edogawa.
Since the comments pretty much say what I want to in terms of faithfulness. Yea they did tone down the nudity mostly on ranma's part. So just enjoy the fact that despite ranma being strong he's weak to cheap shots
LET'S GO Ranma 1/2, is a must-see classic. I remember that in France, there was a TV channel called Manga. It’s thanks to this that I got to know great animated classics of my big sister generation, Yū Yū Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter and of course Ranma1/2.
@TheGenreVerse the reboot took a different direction, and used elements from the game show (Chief, Acme detective agency), the 90s cartoon (Zack, Ivy, Player) , and several of the video games (various characters)
Regarding the bathroom, there are cultural differences... in Japan cleanliness is super important, but there are public bathrooms and there is no problem in sharing them (You enter the bathroom and there are many strangers bathing, but everyone takes care of their own thing.)... which is not that strange either.
@@TheGenreVerseThere's a similar cultural norm in Finland with saunas. You go into public saunas completely nude and that's the norm, no one cares. Except if you actually wear something in, then you will get a lot of looks.
Glad another reactor is reacting to Ranma 1/2!! My two cents, about being a "girl" (I came out as non-binary a few years ago, though) online, when the reactor on the right mentioned girls getting harassed as content creators, you mentioned how boys also get harassed online, but just to be clear, it's a totally different kind of harassment. I used to love playing Halo 3 online a long while ago, but I had to stop, because I would play with a headset (since I liked the modes that were team-based, and communication can help you win), and some asshole would start targetting me over the comms about my voice, and one even asked something incredibly inappropriate. You might say "just report them, fuck those assholes", but to me, I don't even want to risk that moment ever again, it felt disgusting and invasive and gross and completely ruined my enjoyment. That was just one game of online Halo 3, now imagine how often female online creators receive sexual harassment like that when they're trying to make content consistently. Thanks for reading, and please do spread the word about sexual harassment of female content creators & gamers.
Thanks for watching and I'm sorry you had a hard experience in gaming. I qualified and condemned those that target and go to far. However, a person's sensitivity is very subjective, and we cannot ever find a happy medium that covers the spectrum of tolerance for... Aggressive smack talk. You think gaming is bad? You should hear Soldiers talk down range... 😆
Ranma doesn't like the curse, he's not interested in the girl body whatsoever and hates transforming, whenever he changes willfully it's usually to manipulate a situation in his favor or to get a guy away from Akane, but this is rare, usually he transforms by accident much to his dismay.
19:13 well she meant a diffrent kind of harassment I suppose... It gets to say you're awful if you harass people online regardless of gender. But I know very few dudes who have been made very explicit sexual advances made on by guys older than them (that were serious) in a waiting lobby. Or just stuff like "I would like to eff your voice". And if you eff up some andrew tate fans are quick to point out your gender even if they are waaaaay behind in points and kills. So i usually play mute, with a male character and an account name that sounds male and i actually experience no harassment what so ever. I don't blame all men of course, but the security of anonymity really brings out the worst especially within people who are mentally 12 and complaining about that especially in lobbies where actual kids are present is a very normal response. And stuff like that may not bother you online, but wait for the first time it happens face to face. And it will happen...
I know what she's getting at, and am only trying to keep language vague for censorship/visibility stuff. You're right on there being a difference between online and in person. As for the kinds of insults from dudes to dudes, guys have threatened to commit SA on each other in games since the 90s. Guys have attacked each other's genitals in games since the 90s. Guys talk about f*ing everyone and everything to insult each other in games and have since the 90s... Probably since the arcade days, but I can only speak first hand from the early TFC and StarCraft days. However, females definitely get targeted more for specifically sexual/gender based harassment, and are expected to meet certain standards to be a "real gamer" and that's all wrong and complete trash... It's a terrible OVERreaction to both legitimate concerns of "hot girl" gamers being predatory with their streams and offerings to males both cheapening the community AND taking audience from gamers that play more for the games than attention/money... (They also take views from really dedicated female players that don't want to sell the idea of sex with them) AND illegitimate concerns like no woman can be a serious gamer, or everyone wants to take sex or smack talk out of games... Although those people do exist... I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying it shouldn't change, but you can't be upset at it not changing either... Equality in games is getting crapped on... But only if equal to how dudes crap on themselves.
@TheGenreVerse idk man. It's kinda weird you implying that being a girl and a streamer is some kind of benefit that we should recognize and play into, like do you even realise why that's even a thing? Whether the streamer likes it or not, attractive or not, being a girl is automatically associated with unwarranted sexual harrassment or sexualisation in general. Saying that it's easy to make money but not condemning those who make it that way is so weird but ig it's hard to empathize when you're not a girl yourself. Im really trying hard to believe that men dont only think about sex, but when you guys frame it that way, everything yall say seem superficial. I like this anime because it shows that there isn't one way being either gender. Yes ik the 80s one seem to have some elements of fan service but regardless this anime provokes a more progressive thinking about identity and I appreciate that Ranma himself seems disinterested in sexualisation of women as he himself is able to live through it as one (being chased by men who sexualises him, seems a bit ironic when the male audience doesn't think beyond what message this actually sends and not just for pure comedy). As a girl, I also find it funny but more or less kind of a dark humour which probably doesn't translate the same way to men.
I'm pretty sure I condemned bad behavior by guys. I too wish people would not be so vile to each other. I know, and stated, that women get unfairly targeted for harassment and didn't defend that. The only thing I do "defend" is that normal shit talk, regardless of vulgarity, is part of gaming and that you can't be upset if you (any female) are exposed to that... Only that. Not the targeted stuff. Pretty sure I specified a specific situation that can be a legitimate concern, for males and females, in gaming. Also pointed out that there are completely illegitimate concerns too... Cry baby stuff dudes spew. It's easy for drug dealers to make money off of addicts... Selling the idea of sex to people addicted to games and naughty-stuff isn't that far from the same thing. Predatory behavior is bad regardless of who is doing it. Men suck sometimes, but so do women... And I'm not big on giving a freebie because of past events. I'm all about equality under the law and treating EVERYONE with respect as a human first, but I'm not naive to the way the world is, and I don't like predatory behavior that results in people being taken advantage of and getting nothing of any real value in return. In fact, they fall deeper into a hole... I don't want any laws against it, I'm big on individual freedom and responsibility too, but I don't behaviors like that. Also pretty sure that men and women have sex/sex adjacent thoughts on the mind about equal, just dudes are more open to talking about it out loud... Thanks for commenting!
I used to love playing multiplayer back in the Quake 1/Team Fortress 1 days. Then voice chat became a thing. I played one game of Team Fortress 2 and could never play multiplayer again.
I rewatch Ranma 1/2 at least 4 times I will say I like some of the og moments better but this is basically the FMA brotherhood treatment of Ranma 1/2 so the reboot definitely go be better since it’s following the manga all the way.
Thank you for your reaction. Is this your first time watching Japanese manga or animation? In Japan, people have a great bathing culture, filling the bathtub with hot water and soaking in it almost every day (some people even do it multiple times a day). They use showers as well as bathtubs. It's not uncommon for families to take baths together. You might enjoy it more if you study Japanese culture a little more before watching it. Please be aware that the setting of this story is fantasy.
No this is not our first time. Yes, we're aware of the bathing culture. I (Kyle) mentioned that bathing together wouldn't be abnormal during the reaction. Thanks for watching and commenting! Hope you enjoy the rest of them!
In the og ranma, akane ran and carried the table the two fathers were using while having tea over her head screaming “I’m going to drown him in the bath tub”…also noticed how they did omit a lot of nudity which happened in both og anime and manga, my jaw literally dropped when I first saw the OG one, but then in my country they had to cut off those parts as rated PG 😂 In jusenkyo each had a “tragic death” that happened in each of those springs, the one they fell on are those of a drowned panda and girl, there are still more there and you will be meeting and be involved in both akane and 2 versions of ranma
The censors stink here.....both the manga and 80s anime had their fair share if scenes of nude bodies....but the reboot does that away by just erasing what is natural......they can do violence but when it comes to the human body, Ixnay, cannot believe Takahashi-San agreed to that.
Not everything old is good, not everything new is bad... There are lots of things that are "natural" that we don't allow our partake in, and that's the exchange we're are to in order to have modern society. We're animals, right? Think of all the things other animals do that humans actively fight instinct/nature on... Nudity alone isn't (or shouldn't be) as big a deal as it is, but nudity is very sexualized in media, and the connection between sex and nudity is hard to break now.
@@TheGenreVersemodern society is naive and censored. It's okay to make Redo of Healer an anime which has rape, nudity and hardcore soft core sex scenes. But Ranma 1/2 which is inherently a sex comedy minus the sex loses it's nudity? They even cut the scene where Akane slaps Ranma, and Ranma slaps her right back. It hurts that the time we live in wouldn't push the bar. Adapt it all you want but keep the core points in check
They just straight-up made Ranma's nipples disappear. What, is he a Barbie doll now? It's anatomy, it exists. Ranma is naturally immodest because he's a guy, so he's run around topless. His blouse also gets cut up without him noticing until someone calls his attention to it. Most of his life is about martial arts, so that's what his focus is usually on. It'd be different if it was happening to Akane or Shampoo, but it's not.
18:00 "Think about the job opportunities!" That's so American. 19:20 Yo, this is what I preached for 20 years, I've heard the worst insults - and really a lot of sexual harassment even though I am a dude.
Dude, you have GOT to watch this show. I'm not calling you out or anything, and I see what you're coming from, but you're talking about exactly what Ranma believes. He eventually starts to see his curse as a tool he can use. But it turne out to be a lot more complicated than he expects. Just watch it. You'll get it. And it's hilarious so it isn't like presching or anything. It's just wacky and fun.
I hope you know I am leaning into the comedy bit here... While I would definitely be like me in my mind regardless of my body, that's only if I get to switch in and out as I please, essentially. Living/growing up as a woman definitely comes with an experience different than a dude's in almost EVERY country on earth. Some WAY worse than others too. I take nothing from that. While I get confused and lose points sometimes due to brain injury stuff, I don't tend to speak in code or speak generally (unless I note so). So if I say something specific, I am usually speaking exactly that and only that with nothing else meant to be inferred. We are enjoying the show VERY much. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’m watching the dub version, and I gotta say, I’m loving it so far. I like most of the voices, but Soun and Genma’s voices are gonna have to grow on me. They just sound wrong for the characters imo. They sound so much more serious than the original anime’s dub VAs. But aside from that, I love all the voices. I prefer the original anime’s dub VAs for male Ranma(both dub VAs) and female Ranma too(again, both dub VAs), but I still love the dub VAs they chose for this version’s male and female Ranma. Off the topic of the dub, I think the first episode of this version was better than the original. It showed Soun actually getting the letter instead of already having it in his hand when it started like the original did(small thing, I know, but I just think it’s better to show him receiving the letter). And on top of that, I think there were some moves in this version’s first episode that were never in the original. For example, Ranma used an after image when he fought Akane in this version. I don’t remember if he never used that technique at all, but he definitely didn’t use that in the original version of that fight. The only time I remember an afterimage being used(or a variation of it) was when a certain ghoul uses a variation of it later on. So I’m already seeing some differences, especially in the action, between the two versions and I’m loving it.
What, exactly, about the Duck Tales reboot is "really good/so good"? Is it a prerequisite to be a fan of the original show to enjoy the reboot? The clip you showed looked like watery, preteen-friendly Rick & Morty.
Do you need to be a fan of the original? No, but it would add an extra later if enjoyment if you know Tail Spin, DuckTales (og), and Darkwing Duck. What makes it good? The writing is clever and fun. There's a lot of heartfelt moments and a good long form narrative that never gets in the way of the weekly adventure format, or vice versa. A family friendly Rick and Morty isn't too bad a comparison, but I'd say it's more like family friendly Venture Bros. with a touch of The Amazing World of Gumball... Big bonus: David Tenant as Scrooge McDuck... BRILLIANT!
Loved this episode... a very minor but obvious error... when the Saotome's arrive at the Tendo house there's a couple cat yowls in sound chaos... I won't get into why that's a major issue (should have resulted in a very different scene) as it's something ways out in the manga and 2-3 seasons into the old anime. But it's kinda a huge technical issue. It's also a huge nitpick by someone who's a huge Ranma fan.
For once, a reaction that's accurate to what dudes would do if they were in Ranma's position. Cold showers for life would be on every t-shirt I'd wear. Plus cold showers are sometimes healthy for you.
34% of the viewers on this video were Japanese, which is more than double the American audience. We average 15-20% Japanese audience for the channel too. Combine that with the RIDICULOUSLY high number of English speaking subtitle purists in the anime community, and it becomes almost necessary to react to subs. However, maybe we'll do a dub reaction to a previous episode once a few have been released. We do like to watch things dubbed when the VAs do a good job.
While people are having a proper nostalgia with the remake, me here all I could remember are just boobs in this show, damn i was a pervert kid and I still am. I even have CDs of the original and watched ep1 of the OG, I'm really amazed how faithful the remake minus some clever censorship.

You mentioned Full Metal Alchemist: She was Lust in FMA:B. She's one of the original voice actors (most? all?) reprising their roles from the original series.
Thanks for letting us know! Very cool!
Ranma gets hit a _lot_ in the original, despite the fact he should be able to dodge most hits.
@@BNuts it's called comedy.
Glad to see this anime again, and I'm glad people are seeing this anime in the modern generation, literally my childhood anime
Welcome to the world of Anything-Goes- Shenanigans
LET'S GO Ranma 1/2, is a must-see classic. I remember that in France, there was a TV channel called Manga. It’s thanks to this that I got to know great animated classics of my big sister generation, Yū Yū Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter and of course Ranma1/2.
Kinda like a Toonami channel it sounds... Toonami on Cartoon Network played a lot of those same shows.
I watched the original as a teen. Good times
The Carmen Sandiego reboot was actually a pretty fun series and a solit reboot to a western show.
Never saw the reboot, I liked the kids game show back in the day though.
@TheGenreVerse the reboot took a different direction, and used elements from the game show (Chief, Acme detective agency), the 90s cartoon (Zack, Ivy, Player) , and several of the video games (various characters)
Kind of miss the OG version where I watch it during childhood...hope this remake give us the same vibe 😂❤
👀👀👀🤞
I watch The New Ranma ½ in German and i love it 😂❤
As a Straight male, if I had Ranma's curse, I would never leave my bedroom.
👀👀👀👀👀
Regarding the bathroom, there are cultural differences... in Japan cleanliness is super important, but there are public bathrooms and there is no problem in sharing them (You enter the bathroom and there are many strangers bathing, but everyone takes care of their own thing.)... which is not that strange either.
Love the pfp! We know Americans are prudes when it comes to bathing 😆.
Love Ano getting to do an opening, the song is so amazing.
Ranma doesn't like the curse, he's not interested in the girl body whatsoever and hates transforming, whenever he changes willfully it's usually to manipulate a situation in his favor or to get a guy away from Akane, but this is rare, usually he transforms by accident much to his dismay.
Wah anime yang membuat NOSTALGIA sekali tahun 90an😅😂(RANMA SETENGAH)
Or the near constant rape threats.
I used to love playing multiplayer back in the Quake 1/Team Fortress 1 days. Then voice chat became a thing. I played one game of Team Fortress 2 and could never play multiplayer again.
You know with all these springs where people and animals drown, you think they would put up signs, or fences.
👀👀👀👀☠️
If I remember right from the manga, there are several signs. Problem is, they are in Chinese and Genma nor Ranma know how to read Chinese.
Ranma 1/2 awakened something in me as a young'un. Truly, men make the best women.

The remake is pretty funny, I imagine the original is too! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hope you enjoy the rest of them!
is amazing you are watching this anime! ty :)
Thanks for watching!
In the og ranma, akane ran and carried the table the two fathers were using while having tea over her head screaming “I’m going to drown him in the bath tub”…also noticed how they did omit a lot of nudity which happened in both og anime and manga, my jaw literally dropped when I first saw the OG one, but then in my country they had to cut off those parts as rated PG 😂
In jusenkyo each had a “tragic death” that happened in each of those springs, the one they fell on are those of a drowned panda and girl, there are still more there and you will be meeting and be involved in both akane and 2 versions of ranma
The censors stink here.....both the manga and 80s anime had their fair share if scenes of nude bodies....but the reboot does that away by just erasing what is natural......they can do violence but when it comes to the human body, Ixnay, cannot believe Takahashi-San agreed to that.
The animators have to leave this due to modern audience after all it's a show of 30 years old
Not everything old is good, not everything new is bad...
Here's a valuable tip; get over it.
Wait, is there a new version of Ranma? I didn't hear a single word about this.
It's pretty good!

"Think about the job opportunities!" That's so American.

Yo, this is what I preached for 20 years, I've heard the worst insults - and really a lot of sexual harassment even though I am a dude.
The American Motto: Always be Capitalism-ing.
❤❤❤❤
Is a win win situation tho😂
The original anime has been very popular in Latin America.
Very cool! But can it beat Goku down there? 🤣
In the manga, akane was not all the way covered with the towel.
I love akane and ranma
👀👀👀
@@TheGenreVerse Well, you are anticipating a lot of upcoming story srcs. So keep it up, it's working. 😅
I like old anime, i feel like they don't take the story too seriously and just try to have fun.
Recent anime is too serious.
Sometimes... Want some good silly fun in the modern age? Konosuba.
Remembered what time this was made. So the views of what a male does and what a female does might have been different. I believed it was made in 1989.
Guys across time would do exactly what I said 😆
big fan of the original show
“Cant she just be friends with a dude”
As you’ll learn in the next episode she has a really good reason why she hates boys lmao
👀👀👀👀👀🤣
Ah was hoping they'd go with the dub.
If I had a power to turn into a girl, I would have opened an Onlyfan account 😂😂
🤣
While people are having a proper nostalgia with the remake, me here all I could remember are just boobs in this show, damn i was a pervert kid and I still am. I even have CDs of the original and watched ep1 of the OG, I'm really amazed how faithful the remake minus some clever censorship.

She did Inuyasha? Cool... I want the biggest fan of that show, but it's important in America's history with anime for sure.
I'm pretty sure Ranma DOES get visits from Aunt Flo. There's an episode where he seems kind of out of it and Akane asked if he was feeling ok. Then he dragged her to an ice cream parlor to pig out and said he loves that women have license to give in to their cravings.
