R.I.P Bob Brozman you'll be missed. It was such fun watching and listening to you both having a great time with those wonderful tunes ... A HUGE MAHALO ...
DEAR LED; of all the Hawai'ian musicians , he is the one we all call Kolohe ! He likes to joke around and he enjoys so much what he plays. He can have you rolling on the floor and he hardly changes his body language until the last second ! Great heart of a great musician. He has an inborn intelligent talent that leaves his dust in front of all the other local musicians. Unique and saucy, he is the perfect of a natural Hawai'ian kanaka ! Mahalo Led for all your great entertainment !
Yeah, lots of fun listening to this! Led sure has it here and is just letting go changing keys on the fly; if Bob Brozman thought he was crazy (he would know), then he probably is! ; ) Sounds like he was born playing a uke in his hands. Great stuff Led! Thanks for posting this Carmel!
sono Francesco dall'italia, speriamo che in PARADISO si possa sentire questa musica celestiale, coppia fantastica anche se purtroppo BOB non c'è più, forse suonerà da lassù, se Dio lo ha accolto.
@johntrik hello... it is not a National (National had never made tenor ukulele) and national stop ukulele production in 1941... It is a ukulele tenor single cone with a mini tricone body (style 3) made by an australian luthier who's name is Greg Beeton. Beautyfull instrument.
I miss Halfway Heights. And the Pali. And Tantelus. Hawaii Kai and Chinas. The AlaWai. The haircut I would especially travel downtown to get from a local Japanese woman who would talk stories while she cut my hair and made me feel special because she spoke so highly of military personel. It was round the corner from the Red Lion bar under a Outrigger Hotel adjacent to Fort Derussy. Anyone ?
so, why doesn't th U.S.A. have a National Treasure for artists like Japan does? Dis man qualifies, you think? so, maybe some support, huh? i mean da guy is a fr***ing genious...
Yes Kenneth, I noticed that also. One has to be an accomplished musician to be able to give like that. Probably why the greats played with Bob and loved him so much. He was a Master himself. Aloha...and Aloha Bob...you blew my mind!
There's no regularly used name for them. I, and a lot of others, would just call them "resonator"s. It's a means of establishing a different tone, the sound vibrates differently as opposed to wood. It's a blanket term, used to describe dobros and tricone guitars as well as any other lute-instruments that use amplifying features.
+J Harsch I was just recently taught about this by someone in a music shop, but the Dobro is actually a brand of resonator guitars. The tricone design (3-cone shaped resonators in the guitar) is actually patented and sold only by The National, another resonator guitar brand, but they also make and sell single-cone resonator guitars (called biscuits by cool people maybe?) Bob Brozman was known to play National guitars. It appears that his friend has a matching resonator ukulele.
Is that a National Tenor Uke??????....hell........where can i find one???? Led Kaapana is a national treasure,a sweet guy,a monster player!!!!!!!!!! Regards from Greece!
you obviously dont know who Bob Brozman is, although he has passed away his music lives on. Do yourself a favour and check him out, I think you will like what you hear.
Ledward one of the best Hawaiian musicians of all time from my home Kimu Bay.
rest in aloha Bob Brozeman

The National Treasure program was begun under General Douglas McArthur after WW2
Bob Brozman was always incredibly generous towards other musicians.
A sad loss.
Too bad he diddled little girls tho. He did the right thing.
Yes Kenneth, I noticed that also. One has to be an accomplished musician to be able to give like that. Probably why the greats played with Bob and loved him so much. He was a Master himself. Aloha...and Aloha Bob...you blew my mind!
Just learned of his worldly accomplishments.
I am so humbled to see this video AFTER his passing.
Wow, what's with those instruments? I've never seen anything like that before.
