Fran, this song is absolutely beautiful and I love Led's rendition. He is the best. I play ukulele and my husband has learned to love the instrument. He has listened to many artists and often comments when he hears Led, "That's the way a ukulele should be played." I wholeheartedly agree. Thanks so much for sharing this unique talent!
I must agree with your husband. I often say that if Led were not such a great guitar player he would be known as one of the greatest `ukulele players. Herb Ohta Jr. credits Led as his most important influence on the uke, even moreso than his father. Fran
The second coming of Honey's was really a special place. I never visited Hawaii during the life of original Honey's, but the gorgeous setting, the fantastic artists, and the wonderful audiences made this one of my favorite places in all the world. Fran
Lovely song, lovely performance, lovely composer and lovely subject. We miss Uncle Eddie Kamae and hope to see Auntie Myrna next time we're on O`ahu. Fran
I was looking for some favorite Hawaiian music when I stumbled across the best uke player I ever heard. Not to mention Kolomona Slack key with Ned and Gid-drick, , Keep the music coming guys. 70 year young guy, John, Titusville , fl. THANKS>
Hi Fran. Thanks for recording this wonderful video of Ledward. That Uke is really really nice too. I like the old picture of Don Ho on the wall behind him. My cousins went to school with Don Ho's kids in Kailua back in the late 50's/early 60's.
+Sveablues There are some great pictures of entertainers all around the room, with Don's mom, Honey Ho in the place of honor at the main entrance. I'll have to ask Led if he knows if all the pictured entertainers performed at the old Honey's. Apparently it was quite a scene. Fran
Reminds me when I was 12years old.I love listening music, performing Hawaiian hula and band selection
Even if it's been 6 years. This boy is an absolute virtuoso on all his instruments and deserves our respect as does his sister.
