Thank you. Thanks for watching!
Bro! I love the Handle.. Ive customized it to work for me now I cant see myself without it.
Please share how you've customized it. I love it too but I just wish it didn't have that annoying shake.
Damn you hate everything I like about the camera. The only thing that I really hate about the fx6 is playback. When a client wants to see a clip it's so difficult to scrub thru a clip.
lol. Yeah the playback is terrible. I don’t really have to deal with that since I record on the atomos. Here’s a cool solution to that. On set you can use a wireless transmitter like that Accsoon cineview to an iPad for the client to monitor. Whenever you call action, have a PA or the client record to the iPad. This way they can have all the reference files right from the iPad.
@WinstonMcfarlane thanks bro
Nice critique. Video dope. New sub!
Thank you for the support, I appreciate you.
Spot on with your comment on a special accessory for audio
I might have to make one myself. You down? lol
You can use the gyro data with your raw video files by using Gyroflow instead of Catalyst. You have to profile your lenses and it's a very convoluted workflow, especially if you use davinci resolve on a pc, but it can be done.
That is awesome. I didn't know about that. Thank you! I'll keep that in mind if I ever need it. I have to say, I have been using the internal codec for some shooting recently. Don't love it but its growing on me.
Hella facts here. Hopefully, these things will be addressed in the next Fx6. I know you are a Pro Res Raw guy, mad respect, but since changing over, and no more premeire either, Davinchi Resolve is the truth, but we each have our own workflow!!!
I feel like Sony is going to release a totally new camera that addresses a lot of stuff. Maybe an FX5 or 7. Resolve is definitely the truth.
The ND is so dope on my blackmagic I cant imagine the fx3 without them.
I really hope Sony has something cool in the works. Right now, I believe the FX6 is only worth it if you are doing higher end docs and interviews.
Only thing that I don’t agree with is the VF port converting to HDMI or SDI. Correct me if I’m wrong, HDMI and SDI will only send the image to a monitor not the touch screen functionalities. Just food for thought.
Yes. You're absolutely correct. I was referring to Sony coming up with a solution or allowing another manufacturer to create a device that would allow that functionality through the VF port. For instance, If smallHD or Atomos had access to the port licensing, they could create monitors or cables to be able to use that functionality on their own monitors. However, if they just allowed a SDI or HDMI conversion, I wouldn't mind sacrificing the touch capabilities. At least I would still have the option for touch capabilities with the original monitor.
You have enumerated the 'features' of the FX6 that steared me to FX30. The only thing I like about the FX6 is the electronic ND. Wish they would release that as an accessory add-on -- Cheers, good show, definitely worth watching if you are considering an FX6
Thank you. I'm glad I could help. I hope electronic ND's are on their more affordable cameras in the future. Idk how Sony will be able to compete with all the great cameras being released by other companies.
Psst....
You can add your 32bit float recorder into your video files but only and only through the Sony top handle if you don't have an external recorder, disable 48v phantom power from camera body, get an XLR to 3.5mm aux cable or adapter, plug it in to channel 1 or 2 or even 1 and 2 if you got a split XLR to aux cable, set the signal coming out of the zoom f3 headphone monitoring port to mic level, not Line level, now you have the same quality audio fed to your video files and registered on the zoom f3 though mind your audio levels in camera body, you can use Syncalia or pluraleyes to sync a time line in post and replace the audio in seconds, now you have quality scratch audio plus synched 32bit float identical audio.
Thank you so much for this info
Great information.Thanks for sharing 😊
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Updated FX6 is overdue now. I'm not going to drop £5500 on a 4 year camera when I have 2x Lumix S5iix that shoot 6K
Yeah. That absolutely wouldn’t make sense for you. I wouldn’t say it’s overdue though. We’ve been a little spoiled with all these camera releases. Not complaining btw. However if they do drop an update I will be very happy. What kind of shoots do you do?
It wasn't shipping for the first two years because of covid and ship shortage. It's still going to be a proper tool for the next 6-7 years in my opinion. A low profile top handle replacement with a 3,5 jack would be nice. Especially in lowlight it still smokes everything else out there at 12.800 native ISO (vs. 4000 on your S5ii).
I absolutely agree. Thanks for watching
Good vid. Dislike the handle, always comes loose, i took the side handle off day one - why make a "small" camera much wider. Hate the fact need top handle for audio. Hate the fact no 3.5mm. Screen always comes loose. The whole thing is always a rickety mess. Menus - absolutely appalling. WB - awful, please use the same system as the alpha line! Same with codec options. I shouldn't be reaching for my £4k camera over my £6k camera, but i so often do.
Your comment is sooo on point. Everyday I'm considering starting my own accessories company to fix some of this sh***t lol
Thanks for sharing, would you recommend this over the fx3?
Np. It all depends on what you’re shooting but overall, no. The FX3 is roughly the same quality in a lighter, more convenient body. If you need sdi and timecode for that kind of work flow then go with the FX6.
Having a loose handle even when you tighten it would drive me bonkers as well
And it’s nothing we can do about it. Hopefully Sony fixes this.
100% agree!
Thank you. If you got any topics you want me to cover, let me know
100% !!! Same BS I have found as well. IBIS? Why not?
A camera with ibis and built in NDs would be dope.
What lense do you recommend for the Sonyzve10 ?
This is complicated because of a few things. First consider your use case. If you will be shooting indoors/low light, you will want something that has a low wide aperture (The lower the F-stop number, the wider the aperture. ex: F2.8 or F1.4. Wide apertures let more light into your camera and create a beautiful background blur. However, they are more expensive the wider you go. Then you have to consider, do you want a lens that can zoom? If you want a lens that zooms and has a wide aperture, thats even more money. So 1st decide what your needs are. The kit lens that actually comes with the ZVE10 is really good, as long as you light yourself well. Me personally, I like using prime lenses (lens that don't zoom). But you have to constantly change then lenses to get different looks. Here's a list of the lenses I use the most. Sony 50mm F1.2, Sony 35mm F1.4, Sony 16-35mm F4, Sony 24-105mm F4.
@@WinstonMcfarlane thanks Winston I will research them
You’re welcome. Maybe I should do a lens video.
@@WinstonMcfarlane I think that will be good because you are very knowledgeable about camera equipment
@KenteeNStyle_ thank you. Ok I will
