I'm 77 and bought my Triumph Speed 400 a few weeks ago. It's great fun, which a motorcycle should be. I've been riding for 62 years.

You’ve got me beat and that’s rare. A motorcycle is the fountain of youth. Keep the rubber side down and your knees in the breeze.🙏

I’m almost 60 and I chose the svelte Triumph Rocket 3R. It’s lack of weight and lack of aggressive acceleration mean it’s like being on a stairlift. The one in Gremlins. 😂

I’m 61 and have been riding since I was 10. I’m small, 5’1” so I bought the Rebel 500 last year. It’s a blast to ride, fast and nimble. All the upgrades to fuel injection, water cooled, ABS disc brakes. (Beats the rear drum brakes.) Slipper racing clutch. LED light package, digital gauge(gas gauge & clock!!!) Overall a really nice bike to commute to work on. As they say “Fun Size”

At 69, I just purchased a new bike after 3 years of taking a break from motorcycles. I got a Kawasaki Z900RS. Not too low so my knees and feet feel cramped up, not too high with a relatively flat seat so I could swing my leg over it, not too heavy at 471 pounds and with the added passenger grab bar I can maneuver it around in the garage. I wanted a simple bike with plenty of power but without the bulk. Those bikes you show with the stepped up passenger seat are impossible to throw my leg over - just too high!

Old guys (I am one) will be miserable if the knees are folded up tight and their upper body weight is on their wrists. I had a Kawi 500 Ninja and it was brutal. We need room and an upright stance.

The 20hp of the Royal Hunter on the Royal Enfield 350 would get me killed the first time I tried riding it on the Interstate Highways. Most Royal Enfields are WAY too under powered. Not for me thanks. You would need minimum 500+ cc bike for highway riding.

I am 74 years old. I tried cruisers after riding cafe racers for decades. I can't hike my leg over those high asses "lightweight" bikes. When you get old, your joints tighten up, ALL of them, especially the hip joints. When I started having trouble getting on and off of ANY cruiser, but am pretty fit otherwise, I got the notion of buying a scooter. I don't have to jack my leg up over anything, scooters have a step through design. My Vespa 300 has plenty of power, takes off like a shot if I want it too, is easy to push around a parking lot or garage, turns on a dime, etc. What is most surprising however, is that I get a lot of hand waves and thumbs up salutes. Scooters have become cool! Who would have imagined that? A low seat height is useless if you can't climb onto the bike in the first place. You don't have to cramp up your knees either. Skip the 50-150 cc engines, get a 250-300, they will do an easy 65-70 mph if you want to. My Vespa 300 GTV (there is a whole series of 300's) will supposedly go 80 mph.

At 6'4" and 62 years old only the nc750 would come close to fitting me of the bikes you show, they all look so small. However my 2024 klr 650 fits me and is fairly light, and budget friendly. I recommend 😊.

Nakeds are too tiring for seniors unless they plan just to potter around town. After owning three of them in the last 20 years, I am a big fan of adventure bikes for the combination of comfort, riding position and weight: V-Strom 1000, Multistrada (POS avoid) and for 4 years a 1290 SAS

I have decades of hard earned experienced but have had a fifteen year break. Looking to pick up another bike but the choice is bewildering. Too many nice bikes I like from all genres. I thought about a Tenere, nice bike but a bit top heavy. Might try a Street Triple but then again, one bike I always wanted was the BMW R1250R. I might just get that and be done.

  • @biblejohn4681

The Enfield Himalayan is the pick of the bunch but I recommend an Africa Twin DCT ES or a Goldwing DCT if you just want to stick to pavement and your height is 5’6” or below. Either way, you’ll never need another bike and DCT can’t be beat.

Motorfiled, please consider using real people for narration. The robo-voice has no idea how to speak many motorcycle related terms and it makes the otherwise valuable video seem really contrived. Thanks for the facts and the video and the ideas, please just get a real person to record the audio next time.

I'm a few years younger than you and recently traded my Victory Cross Roads for a Harley Dyna Street Bob . The 820 lbs crossroads was the "Polaris Road King" and I got tired of moving that around in my garage and rarely carry a passenger. The 650 lb Dyna is much easier in a garage, more agile, and very fast. With Thunder Header exhausts, it sounds spectacular.
