Have you ever “lost yourself” in a book or a movie? Have you ever felt self-conscious speaking in front of a crowd? All have experienced how the sense of self comes and goes, so much so that the descriptions are idiomatic. Some try to make the dropping of self into this esoteric indescribable transcendent mystical experience, but it’s actually so commonplace as to be banal. Most have just never stayed with the experience, much less investigated it. Once it’s seen that the sense of self comes and goes, it becomes easier and easier to see through the illusion of a permanent, unchanging, separate self.
Great video. Is human suffering / cruelty /injustice attributed to this error in perception? I know one might say 'the injustice is also it'. But I wonder if this realization would reduce human suffering.
Suffering is "it happens to me". Without the impression of "I am" - There is just apparent pain, just an emotion... there can appear an avoiding of pain, a searching for solutions ... the character act, but no one is acting - this is already the case, just superimposed with the sense of "I" , of an artificial separate entity
@@dexx44 Thanks for your answer. But I wonder if for example injustice or manipulation would be reduced in the world too. If that apparent sense of self disappeared wouldn't corruption come to an end?
@nikan4now all there is is energy, appearing as whatever is appearing. Injustice is a concept out of the sense of separation. Without this apparent sense, it's just what is. What is, can be apparent injustice. It's not about making things better. It's always out of the sense of separation, that what is, should be different, it should be better. So than we start to control things to make them better "behave or otherwise you go to hell , or in a prison". - nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't change anything, for the individual. It will still not be satisfied.
