The main reason i have become addicted to your channel is your display of the mind-boggling variety within the genus Hoya. I am a believer in creation, and I picture in my mind the Creator examining the original Hoya progenitor and saying, "Now THIS will have real possibilities." Thanks for another enjoyable Friday afternoon.
And he made these beauties for our pleasure. Amazing!
Thanks for watching and adding your comments
Thanks for sharing your propagating secrets. Your filming is great!😊
I appreciate the compliment. Thank you for watching and adding your comment.
Awesome plants you exchange with each other!
Thanks. I was really surprised by the cuttings Mona sent. I hadn't expected anything in exchange. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for another great Hoya video, you really do spoil us! I saw on Mona’s channel your gifted Hoya to her so I was thrilled to see the Hoya that Mona sent to you on this video. I’ve learned so much from both of your channels and I thank you! Our plant community really is the best! 🥰. I enjoy being introduced or reintroduced by you and Mona to Hoya plants that I had forgotten about and or in many cases Hoyas that I never knew they existed . Thank you. Great job!
Peggy - Thanks for all the kind words, you spoil me. I appreciate you watching and adding your comments to the conversation.
You are so welcome! Thank you! I love the cookie jar! 😅
I'm not sure of the reason/reasons, but I get the best results from the cookie jar. Thanks for watching.
If it's the last Hoya I buy I must have a Hoya Meredithii! Beautiful! Thanks for showcasing those beautiful hoyas! 💚 Dee, NY
Dee, yes, H meredithii is a beauty. Just be patient and keep your eyes open, you'll find one at a good price. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Super, Super enjoyed 🎉look forward to your videos ❤
Thank you. I appreciate you watching and adding your comment.
I'm going to have a talk with my Krinkle 8. I love that Callistophylla!
Make it watch the video. Mine really loves self-watering, wick-based, and slightly lower light. Thanks, Mona.
@PlantedInRI That makes sense. Mine did not appreciate super bright lights. My Chelsea as well. But they're large. No flowers 😕
I agree about lacunosa/krohniana
My grandma was big into African Violets as well. I have several lacunosas and krohianas and found them difficult to root especially if you put the water level up very high. Looking at your props I think keeping the water level lower like I see yours will be key when rooting in pon. Tfs
I too use magic cookie jars. Mine are the acrylic ones with latch tops. I always get them at thrift stores. But maybe the fact that your cookie jar isn't air tight is actually better.
That's what I'm thinking, that and clear sides and lid. For whatever reason, it works for me. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.
I have acquired 8 Hoyas in the last 4 weeks. For 5 of them I also blame Miro🤣🤣🤣
Poor guy, I think everybody blames Miro. Congrats on your new additions. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
I was on the fence with the outer variegated Hindu rope until I saw someone post the flower. I have one that I transferred into PON, she grew quite a bit. She's under bright grow lights. 😊
Very cool, since mine's now in pon, and some space just opened up under the grow lights. Thanks.
🐇🐇
Rabbits out the wazoo this year. We need more foxes and coyotes. Everybody's gotta eat. Thanks for watching.
Hi, I got my H. C. crinkle 8 cutting for $5. Mine grows too much, and of course, it blooms too.
Score. I'm so surprised that I don't see/hear people talking about H carnosa Krinkle-8, it's such a great Hoya. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
I'm experimenting with lava rock in my substrate with my hoya. And they are growing great. Have you ever tried lava rock?
The pon I've been using is comprised of equal parts pumice, lava rock, and zeolite, so yes, sort of. I'm sure that your Hoyas have responded well to that kind of an airy substrate. Best of luck, and thanks for watching and adding your comment.
Pls show us your chelsea
Thanks for asking. It's going to be part of the Hoya tour - which is in the works.
Your videos and plants are amazing! I’d give my first born for a nice size Hoya chinghungensis if you have any ideas where I can get one it would be much appreciated!
I'm not sure if he currently has any on offer, but I got mine through the Etsy store RareHerbsGardenNJ. He's a good seller and I've been happy with every order.
Hi, What substrate is the Carnosa Compacta on, is it in a cabinet or outdoors?
The H carnosa compacta is now growing in a wick-based, self watering planter in pon-ish (not the brand name). None of my Hoyas grow in cabinets or enclosures (once they're rooted). He's currently on a shelf in the Hoya room. Thanks for watching and for your question.
@@PlantedInRI I have 21 hoyas in coconut substrate (including the compact one) and I plan to transfer them all to self-watering (wick based). Thanks for sharing, I'm learning a lot from you. Greetings from Peru. 💚
That Wilbur Graves is gorgeous!!! I love the half silver splash with green leaves!!! 😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴 I have a Silver Dollar that I got as a bonus cutting…..wasn’t sure about her but she’s becoming a fav!!!
It's quite amazing how some plants grow on you. I have a couple that I wasn't sure about, that have become favorites. Thanks for watching and commenting.
