Great episode on muscadines! Ruby Crisp should do well for you. Up here in our area they haven’t survived winter as well as others. (Let one get dead ripe and the flavor changes.) I try to not get caught up in the Brix ratings, taste them and made your on determination. Looking forward to seeing how that Razzmatazz does for you. I’ve heard mixed reviews. Seedless and thin skin like RC is definitely the direction breeding is headed.
I got a Triumph muscadine at the beginning of last year and I have been very impressed with it. It matured some nice size fruit in its first year and seems to focus much more on fruit than just making a bunch of vines (unlike my Cowart, for example). It’s a great cultivar!
I'm as passionate about muscadines and I am of figs brother! Enjoyed the video. I have a bunch of Carlos still on the vine. Saving them in the freezer for wine. I've got 10 gallons fermenting of Ison right now. Just about ready for a second fermentation run. I have another crop on the Ison, but I may just cut them all off as I got 90 lbs this season already from that one vine. Last year I got 60 from it. I agree, my two favorite are Darlene(bronze) and Ison. Really enjoyed talking with you yesterday. I tried to see your email address, but it didn't show it on your about info.

Thanks! I’m not worried about bricks at all. Just figured I’d throw it in there. I hope UGA releases the one that you reviewed.
@@FlomatonFamousme too!
Good video... I really like the Ruby Crisp
Thanks, I like it too

Awesome! I’ve thought about getting that one
The late A J Bullard referred to Raz as "a winner".

email is FlomatonFamous@gmail.com It was good to talk with you also, I enjoyed meeting you. That's a lot of fruit!
Interesting. I have Summit muscadine, which is female with 20% sugar. It sits next to a green grape, unknown variety. I like Summit a lot.
How is the fruit production for you?
1st!
Your puppy dog looks like it wants some muscadines as well. In hindsight, what new muscadine types would you start as a beginning grower?
😀🌱🐢
They walk around eating them all the time lol
Thanks for covering the ISON. I recently learned about it and expect it should do just as well down here in Mobile.
I'm happy with it and I think I'm going to also add Paulk.
@@FlomatonFamous What are you seeing about the Paulk that is catching your eye?
@@jimjam36695 it’s larger and a larger crop
I learning and oneday I will start growing my own
Awesome!
Are you hard pruning back to the main vine?
Yes everything gets cut back to the central 2 leaders leaving 2-3 buds on each side shoot
