- Why are farmers going out of business? In 1934, some 5.2 million dairy farms dotted America's countryside. Since that peak, a noticeable decline has ensued. Today, fewer than 28,000 licensed dairy herds remain. On top of that, The average American dairy turned a profit only twice in the past two decades despite milk production rising by almost 40%, according to analysis by Food and Water Watch.

@@notwanted6695 what losses? There aren’t losses if your production is multiplied and your variables for losses lessened. You’re more profitable and effecient. If you’re losing money then you made a mistake somewhere else.

In 1950 the median household income was 3000 us dollars. You could probably pay that house back in 5-8 years
