I don’t know for sure, but I think it has something to do with the guitar riff. It sounds a lot like something Creed would play. Knowing that they are constantly trying to get away from that Creed name, it doesn’t surprise me that they would cut the this song from the album. I have no proof of this being the reason, just a guess.
This song along with their other song that didn, t make the album is on another album of theirs called alter bridge live b-sides and rarities which came out in 2017

A lot of times you have some left over songs end up as bonus tracks, and it's not because they're bad songs. They might just not fit the mood of the album. This song is really good, but it doesn't really have that "Blackbird" feel to it.
The opening sounds very Creed still. But i think its safe to say theyre just a much better incarnation of Creed. (not that creed was bad, im just more of a headbanger)
i have to admit i bought the live in amsterdam dvd and they play this song on that dvd and i think its way better on the dvd live than it is in the recording the live version has so much more attitude and i think who ever mixed this song did a terrible job over all the song is great but they just tried to do too much with myles voice too many effects GREAT SONG! just better live

the riff at 0:27 actually has a lot of the same notes/strumming as Creed's Higher and look how amazingly different they made the two songs.
That's the beauty of music. You can play the same notes in many different ways to get different sounds.
