We've been sent to justify Relieve the nation of its crimes Blameless mission must begin The chosen few of wars to win A cold and a cruel sun Enlightens a world so bold If it's wrong then it mustn't be us Tomorrow, we may never see A sacrifice they say must be As we fight our father's wars We don't know what we're dying for A cold and a cruel sun Enlightens a world so bold If it's wrong then it mustn't be us It's a shame that it ended up this way But when the day is done Then no one will have won When will they call us? And then, what will we do? When will they call us? And then, what will we do? If I'm gonna die God, I pray we're right If I'm gonna die God, I pray we're right If I'm gonna die God, I pray we're right A cold and a cruel sun Enlightens a world so bold If it's wrong then it mustn't be us It's a shame that it ended up this way But when the day is done Then no one will have won
I was shown this band when I was 12-13 and have always found them to stand out so much me. This is the first time I’ve heard this song and I’m 22, I know every other song but this one, always the bonus tracks n shit that hit so good too
@@tforceraven Yep. I've found quite a few new bands I like just based off a random glance at the cover. Sometimes they turn out shitty, but all in all I'd say most of the time I like what I pick up.
I HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS SONG. I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE SONGS THAT I HAVEN'T HEARD. JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT..."B SONGS"... THIS OL DOG JUST LEARNED SOMETHING NEW TODAY...IT HAPPENS Y'ALL!!🤘🤘🤘
I’ve been listening to alter bridge since I was 15, 19 now but some of these lyrics make me feel like Myles was sent back from the future with the wisdom he has in his lyrics, here in Australia it’s so hard to find a way to stream b sides
Interesting observation, I consider ODR one of the best hard rock albums of the mid 2000s by far. This song is a b-side to that album, why this and three other songs never made it on that album is a mystery to me. However, I suspect that a lot of the songs on ODR we're probably material that was to be the fourth creed album but stapp with his problems was gone, Myles Kennedy was a perfect fit. They really hit gold with Myles, and it's kinda amazing they never got half as big as creed. Say what you will about creed, but they had a wicked diverse fan base. I think what happened was that, that base split and the hard rockers that liked creed found AB awesome while a lot of the pop fans had not much to go with.
You can still hear bits of Creed in the guitar from Tremonti, so glad he phased out of that and went his own way. One of the best musician's on the planet, same with Myles.
For many years it used to be that you could only hear Breathe, Cruel Sun, and Solace if you purchased the Live at the O2 Arena cd. Looks like the cat’s out of the bag 😏
We've been sent to justify
Relieve the nation of its crimes
Blameless mission must begin
The chosen few of wars to win
A cold and a cruel sun
Enlightens a world so bold
If it's wrong then it mustn't be us
Tomorrow, we may never see
A sacrifice they say must be
As we fight our father's wars
We don't know what we're dying for
A cold and a cruel sun
Enlightens a world so bold
If it's wrong then it mustn't be us
It's a shame that it ended up this way
But when the day is done
Then no one will have won
When will they call us?
And then, what will we do?
When will they call us?
And then, what will we do?
If I'm gonna die
God, I pray we're right
If I'm gonna die
God, I pray we're right
If I'm gonna die
God, I pray we're right
A cold and a cruel sun
Enlightens a world so bold
If it's wrong then it mustn't be us
It's a shame that it ended up this way
But when the day is done
Then no one will have won
"A cold" and a cruel sun or "I Call It"?
I’m only 17 and have been listening to this band since I was 5
Imagine not finding out about this band til you were 17... That was me, 12 years ago!

Great song! I have listed to Alter Bridge for a long time but just now hearing this song. It’s awesome!
Thanks for letting us know about the time
Je ne la connaissais pas , merci
Cool bonus track, they never dissapoint ❤

Same! I literally thought I knew every song of theirs! I'm blown away. There's more!
Love it
Never heard that one before. Thought I knew all Bsides. There's always something new to learn 😅
If you haven't check out Solace as well

How can this song not be in an album?
Bonus track by ODR
It's not from ODR,but from the last hero!@@RenanSouza-r4e
this is literally creed featuring mayfield four
Always has been.
The beggining riff sounds a lot like a riff from a mayfield four song, having sprinkled a bit of tremonti on top of it
not all all, these are alter bridge type riffs, not creed
@@scottdufourif it were an alter Bridge type riff, it would’ve been an album track, song is still amazing though

As much as I love AB this is my personal favorite album from them it felt like Creed 2.0
went his own way? He was mainly responsible for the sound of Creed in that sense. So it was allways his way.
Tremonti made a Creed and Alter Bridge. Your statement is ridiculous
Although I love AB, I would not mind another new Creed album. Creed was the band that started it all for me. ❤️
You nuts. The Creed sound is badass. I like Scott Stapp but I like this Creed sound without him.
