The perfect song to capture my thoughts and feelings in the light of Barry's passing this week. This performance was only 5 years ago, which would have made him 86 !! AMAZING
89 years old! What a musical treasure. I was lucky enough to study with Sophia Rosoff at the same time as Barry and at group classes he would go from Chopin to Bud with ease.
This is when music was beautiful and romantic. What has happened to today's music? There is no more romance. An older crowd can appreciate the beauty of music from an era when there was respect, class, love and romance. Today music is full of hate, disrespect and profanity. Unfortunately, it has no soul and has no message which lyric wise and sound wise touches the heart. Nothing is like it used to be. Thank God for great men like Barry Harris who can, through the gift of music, rekindle that old magic and keep that wonderful jazz music legacy alive.
Such a beautiful remembrance of Barry. There will never, ever be another Barry Harris. Thank you for generously sharing your eloquent gifts. Rest in Power Sir, and thank you Tomasz for gifting us with this memorable performance.
I'll confess. Last week I stole this arrangement playing at a restaurant here in Nashville. Well, I did changed a bit of the impression. But it was fun playing.
I set Nat Cole's small ensembles , Trio's , Quartets and his Quintet as the standard bar for good jazz, the only music to ever come close to that standard bar was Oscar Peterson's Trio.
Who didn't make it to 60, did he ? Cagney kindly put Harry in a Rhythm Boys- type role in " Something to Sing About", 1937. He was uncredited. Barry Harris, on the other hand, still at 'em at age 87. But I understand your play on words ( actually, on names !) .

Cannot believe he’s dead. Such a generation combining musician. He will forever be remembered as one of the greats

An amazing performance for someone who was 86 when this was recorded... There will never be another Barry Harris. RIP

The title and general sentiment of the song was what I was referring to. Barry was one of a kind.
There will never be another Barry Harris. May his soul rest in peace 🙏

That bass solo gives me chills.
Rest in peace Barry, what a legend

Yes I was there at Barry's workshops every Tuesday. Jazz to him was just a continuation of European classical music😁
I’ve discovered Barry in This moment, i’ll never forget him. Rest in peace for ever playing piano for God, please !!
Barry Harris is piano jazz! Pianos all over the world are praying that one day Barry will play them!
The Great Barry Harris - still at it after all these many, many years...

I love the way Luca Pisani quotes Moody's Mood in his solo, and Barry finishes the phrase!
There i go…

“Perfect solos don’t exi-“

Great performance
Outstanding!!!
There will never be another Barry Harris 🎶🎹
I’ll forever miss my teacher and friend a very giving person.
A live legend.
Man,Barry you worked with Wes M. ...You are the man!!!!!!!
Fantastic
Barry is starting the Bud Powell-Intro on c instead of eb like the original phrase!
You mean C-Minor?🤔
@@getcritical7386 No. The first note of the intro is on a C, whereas Bud plays the intro starting with an Eb
Hes kinda right e minor 6 is just a c minor 7 chord
@@AnalyticPiracy No it isn't. E minor 6 is a C# half diminished if you invert it. not even vaguely close to Cm.
@@elliotmadethis but what was the final start please ?? And the original one please ? Bit confused now ! Thanks !!
Wow! !!!! Great job
Brilliant!!!!!
Masterfully done

George Harrison on double bass??
great. worthy of close study
What was barry's quote at the end?
those block chords dang
where was this?
87 years old!!!!!!!
hermoso
wow...
Camera man doesn’t show us the bass player or drummer as they solo, geez
Weston Diggs I understand, but its nice as a piano student to even see his comping, as well as his calmness
If you notice, there are other people filming and moving.. it means he would’ve been restricted to the current line of vision. Just what I think 🤷🏾♂️
Detroit love

What a wonderful pianist! And who's the lovely brunette on his left?
Red head is prettier everytime I watch the vid
she looks kinda bored
Ayyee you can bet Barry was practicing his diminish chord on her if you know what I mean afterwards lmfao 🤪🤣😆
what was this audio recorded on?
I think it was Zoom Q2 HD, but I did some eq correction

You're right! Where did he do that at?
👍
