    That Jesus and not forgiveness is at the heart of the 'gospel' rings so true for me. I came into the Christian faith through John 10:10 "I have come to give you life, life in all it's fullness", not through any verses about sin. That fullness of life attracted me and caused me to both follow and commit myself to Jesus. And in that first commiment I experienced the love of God. Then in as I grew, I learnt what Christ had done for me on the cross. Today, 50 years later, I well understand about repentance and forgiveness, but for me the nub of the 'good news' is still the life that is found in living in a relationship with Jesus as Lord.

    Let's see what Paul says the gospel is in 1 Corinthians 15:
    "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."

    jesus came into galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of god,.this is the gospel ,the whole gospel,that jesus is the king of this world when he comes to claim it, after satans rule is over.jesus said his kingdom was,nt of that time,but in the future,when he will return,and every eye shall see him, and those that pierced him.

    The Gospel presented by st. Paul: 1. Corinthians 15:2-4... Christ died for our sins, he was buried, he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. It can be argued that changed lives are consequence of repenting and accepting the Gospel. Also this can be presented as integral part of the Gospel so people can know that once they accept the Gospel as preached above their lives will be changed.

    I like how he explains the meaning of the gospel in depth. He's not preaching in this video, he's simply explaining the gospel in a much deeper way, and Most critics who criticize him for that seem to be misunderstanding this fact. What the critics are hung up on is how he's " wording" his statements and how he doesn't seem to be" preaching" what they think he ought to be preaching.
    please pay attention to how he's EXPLAINING the gospel rather then criticizing what they misunderstand.

    He said to "soak yourself in the scripture". Paul was a pharisee. He memorized all of the scriptures (Genesis to Malachi) There were over 200 messianic prophesies contained in the scriptures that referred to Jesus, & yet he persecuted & tortured The Christian believers. He knew all of the scriptures, but they did nothing for him. Meeting Jesus Christ in Acts 9 is what changed Paul. He states in Phil 3, that all of his religiosity was rubbish compared to 'Knowing' Jesus Christ. We get to know Him by repentance & surrendering our lives to Him. Not by reading 'about' Him. Soak yourself in the Holy Spirit until out of your innermost being will flow rivers of Living Water.... Shalom

      Thank you. It is you who who the Lord has promised, the scales no longer on your eyes..you are able to "see" The Times Of The Gentiles are 99% fulfilled so now the Lord protects and turns to the House of Israel(the natural branch thereof) The First being last and you now the last being first. You were chosen in the premortal to be born in these the End Days. Before our very eyes all the Gentile Nations are being Destroyed. Jerusalem will never be destroyed only those who fight against it.

    I disagree with his statement that the renewal of our minds is not something we do on our own by thinking about something. It's about the work of the spirit. Yes, we should preach the gospel to ourselves each day because doing so keeps us walking in the spirit. Preaching the gospel to ourselves keeps us from being conformed to the world. That's the point of Rm 12:2. Being saturated by the gospel makes us able to walk according to the spirit. It's the power of the gospel via the Holy Spirit that renews us, not us "thinking things through" as he says a 1:00.

    This video is very subtle in the heresy of the New Perspectives of Paul. Many people can be decieved by what appears to be good in it. Anyone who would ask, what do you mean by that, you need to be careful.

    SALVATION for the unbeliever/sinner for today (the dispensation of the grace of God Almighty, Ephesians 3:2,) is in the book of Romans 3:24, 25, 26, in the Pure, All Truth, and All Authority…KING JAMES BIBLE (John 10:34,35, & Titus 2:15,). Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

    His presentation appears to be pretty good. To those who say his theology is bad, i must say that you are probably not a retired Anglican bishop. while he is. to those who say man has no part in salvation, i say you should read the old testament. without it, the new testament makes a whole lot more sense. to make it clear to folks who speak of the "New perspective on St. Paul", the bible makes it rather clear that works do matter, just not in terms of getting into heaven. Jesus himself will reward us according to our fruit.

    He's too vague. He didn't say how one can get saved.

    • @JakeEnns
      @JakeEnns 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      He may not have said it in the exact way that you are used to hearing it, but he most certainly shared the truth of the gospel. If one was to believe what he said, especially around the 10 and 11 minute mark one would most certainly experience salvation.

    • @JakeEnns
      @JakeEnns 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ***** Right on G2Ident89. We are definitely not the agents of our salvation, it is Christ alone, and his Finished work for ALL. but you "get it" in the sense of "getting" a joke. A joke is only funny once you "get it", in the same way, salvation is true before you "get it" but getting it happens when you know the truth.

    • @richardparke4105

      Well because that IS a difficult question. I beg you to do your utmost to look at scripture plainly without considering the consequences and conclusions of the western church of which you are VERY aware and simply try to understand what the scripture is saying. We have to be very careful with confusing majority opinion within our churches with what is biblical.
      I've done that recently and the results are quite startling. What the gospel is fundamentally about hasn't changed in my mind, but my ideas about the nature of heaven, of hell, of how one receives the gift if salvation... they have, and more fundamentally what I've ended up knowing with respect to those things is that I don't know very much about them. Scripture is painfully unclear at times about those topics.

      ***** That is a bunch of hogwash. Jesus didn't justify anyone.Nor is his work finished or the believers race already run. In the scriptures it is God who justifies (forgives sins) on the basis of the repentance and faith of the sinner and one is saved only when one endures to the end.

    Does this man actually knows the Gospel.
    The Gospel of the dispensation of Grace is not in the Gospels.
    It comes after Christ Dies.

    • @Blackjamie80
      @Blackjamie80 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Only... The pillars that the new perspective test upon are all flawed .
      1) a misreading of Luther/Calvin
      2)a questionable definition of Gods righteousness in Romans.
      3) a false understanding of 2nd temple Judaism as being not legalistic
      4) a straw man argument about justification by faith alone being about western individualism
      5)a false dichotomy between individual salvation and cosmic redemption
      6) a poor reading of Romans.

    Paul's gospel was a mystery that had not been revealed to the 12. The 12 preached the good news to the Jew concerning Jesus as the Christ and the restoration of the kingdom, as promised, Paul preached the good news to both Jew and Gentile of Christ in you. Not the same message, yet both true.

    • @IvanAgram
      @IvanAgram 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not sure about that. The gospel of 1. Corinthians 15:3-4 and John 3:16, Mark 14:24 are the same message. Only the recipients are different. The Gospel of course has wide implications ant those were maybe different for jew and gentile in some ways but in core sense of saving individuals from hell they are the same.

    • @SilasRaven
      @SilasRaven 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      When Jesus sent out the 12 in Luke 9:6 to preach the gospel, they knew nothing of what Paul called the gospel in 1 Cor 15:1-4 (see Luke 18:31-34). They preached the restoration of the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6). Paul's gospel was a mystery revealed to him by Jesus, unknown until Israel's being cut-off (Rom 11)

    • @IvanAgram
      @IvanAgram 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ivan Marecic preaching the kingdom as the Gospel is not a different Gospel. The kingdom was among them and the way man becomes a citizen is by repenting and believing unto Jesus. For sure they didn't understand the fullness of the Good news but it was newer a truly hidden thing as John the baptist clearly reckognized in public Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of his people. Also it was clearly revealed by the Lord to the apostles long before the Saul became Paul that He is about to die for the sins of the people. There is one Gospel, the kingdom was preached before Jesus died on the cross and we as did Paul are still preaching the Gospel as accepting Jesus as Lord (king) and Saviour.

      "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to MY gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to THE REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY, which was KEPT SECRET since the world began,
      But NOW is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith"
      Paul and the Bible disagree with your theory.

    Wright you're not saying anything profound. That's the problem I see with this. Biblical illiteracy has lead people to be in awe of this man. Im a dispensationalist who believes in the rapture etc and I don't believe salvation is about going to heaven. It's about the physical reign of israels messiah. And I get to be a part of that through Christ. I definitely do by limit the bible to my personal salvation. It's about Father Son Holy spirit! He constantly misrepresents American Christianity and attacks a straw man. Garbage
