- I just did a Disney Q&A not that long ago, but you guys still had TONS of great questions! So many that I had to split this into two parts!
Ever wondered.....what happens if “princesses” get sunburns? How to do lots of rides without Fastpasses? Where are the best photo spots in Walt Disney World or Disneyland? I had an interview at the Disney Store and they even ask those improve type questions. While I didn’t accept the job because it wasn’t right for me at that time, it was so much fun. My favorite question they asked us was, “if a little girl walks into the store dressed as her favorite princess, how do you address her?” I raised my hand and responded, “I’m not sure what the question is here because clearly a princes has come into the store so why would we address her as anything else?” 👑 🤔 😂

A tip for your next trip if you don’t have a FOP fast pass and you’re gonna be in DAK all day, get in line maybe a half hour before park closing...even if it says it’s a two hour wait, it’s not. I’ve done it several times and waited less than an hour! Sometimes it’s basically a walk on at the end of the night!

The character host auditions for Disneyland are so much fun! Even if you aren’t hired, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll meet super friendly people who will make the experience so memorable.
That's how I felt about the performer auditions too! Everyone is so nice and (usually) loves Disney as much as I do so it's like instant friends!

For the fastpass question: if you’re a morning person it’s also great to go to the parks at night! You can get on flights of passage in about an hour or so right before the park closes (which you’d wait about that for the park to even open in the morning!)
That's such a great point! You will definitely see shorter wait times when you're visiting the parks first thing in the morning or staying late at night :)

I'm hoping to go on flight of passage the next time I go! Maybe it'll be less crowded with all of the new things coming to Hollywood Studios!
The Character Attendants that Pluto and Donald had in Epcot we’re amazing!!!! They completely helped the Character interact with our boys and made the experience so much more enjoyable! When Pluto needed to leave the Character Attendant told Pluto that they were getting his dog treats out of the oven soon and he should go try some! Our boys still talk about that now 2 years later!!
That is so sweet and so good to hear!! I always hear stories about bad interactions with character attendants. The job wasn't easy and it's always nice to hear positive stories 😊
I would LOVE to see a video of the gifts Ariel shared with you and anything you collected while you worked there! Your videos always help me feel like I'm experiencing some of the Disney magic while away from the parks.
Awww that is such a great compliment! It's fun for me to still share in the Disney magic even though I no longer work there or live near the parks! It's like I can still experience the magic too!

Brownies is a fun word also, avatar rides are usually less busy at night because everyone thinks it will be shorter in the morning and goes in the morning but I have found that we have waited less time at night

Haha don't worry Nessie, I always meet Ariel at least 10 times each time I visit the parks! I was feeling the same while I was creating this video, I have major withdrawals too and I just went in April! And thank you! I was actually having a pretty rough day but reading through the comments always makes my life a little brighter :)
I love brownies!! Not only is it your last name (and of course a delicious treat) but it also is kind of a play on words: brow-nies. Since your brows are amazing and you went to a whole camp dedicated to brows!
Haha I was mainly doing it as a play off my last name but I didn't even think about the brow part! Now I feel like I definitely need to do it!
I love when you talked about what you learned from Ariel about Prince Eric! I never realized that about his castle, but I think that makes him my favorite now. I finally got to meet him at the Bon Voyage breakfast and he was the cutest. P.S. I would love to see those resume videos. I’m still learning to adult.
YES I loved meeting him at Bon Voyage! It was definitely my highlight! Haha girl I feel like I'll be learning how to adult for the rest of my life at this point!
I love the Brownies idea!! Also, thank you for all your efforts to the Disney videos. I can’t tell you how valuable they are to me-I have no idea where I would start on trying to work at WDW without the information you’ve shared through your videos!! I totally agree about it not being enough to make a living. I also went in debt during my program. If you have an extra bills such as car, car insurance, phone, credit cards or any extra bills it is VERY hard to make ends meet. I would have about $50 per week for food.
I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I didn't have bills to worry about thankfully, but I definitely would've been in more debit if I had!

Did you have friends doing the program with you or did you make them all once you started? Was it easy to make friends? I’m nervous I won’t meet anyone 😂
I had one friend going in to the program and I came out of it with tons of friends! I feel like it was pretty easy to make friends because we all shared a love for Disney! Plus you'll have roommates and you can make friends with your coworkers too!

2 things!!
1: I did my CP as a Fairy Godmother-in-Training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and one of my funniest “non-believer” moments was after I transformed a princess I was going to knight her brother. He was NOT having any of my story 😂 He kept arguing that I wasnt a reeeeal fairy and when he left he said “I know you’re not a fairy because you don’t have sparkle eyes. Mom, *snaps* lets roll.” I died at his sass and persistence.

Hahaha oh my gosh that little boy is so funny! I love hearing the things kids would say - especially when they're brutally honest! If you haven't seen my "crazy guest stories" series I think you would get a kick out of it!

A good tip for California Adventure is if you want to take a break just go in the lobby of the Great Californian. There’s lounge chairs and stuff like that and it’s really nice.

This isn’t so much a Disney related question but as a fellow introvert, how did you overcome it to actually do the College Program or start your channel? I’ve been contemplating starting a channel myself but I feel like I have nothing of substance or value to film. How did you get started?
That's a good question! So I like to call myself an "outgoing introvert" because I'm very sociable, but social situations are very draining to me. I'm kinda shy at first, but I get over it pretty quick. So I didn't have a problem doing the program or filming content for my channel, but I feel very drained and exhausted afterwards. I actually can't film multiple videos in a role because it'll totally wear me out! And same with working for Disney, I loved my job but by the end I was completely emotionally exhausted.
In regards to feeling like you have nothing of substance or value to film - think about things you're an expert in! I originally started this channel because I'm a makeup artist and I loved makeup! Sadly, there are SO many makeup artists on TH-cam that nothing I did stood out and it was hard for me to get my content seen. BUT I did notice there was a very large Disney audience, with not a lot of content creators. I knew I was an "expert" in this category because of my time with the company and that I could make content unique to my channel. That's when everything took off!
So my biggest advice for starting a TH-cam channel is to be yourself, create videos for you (I create content because I enjoy the process, not because I'm wanting to "get followers" or make money - although that would be nice! Haha) and try to figure out what content you would be an expert in, or that's unique to you!
I just want to thank you so much for taking time to answer my question. It’s very encouraging because I’ve commented on others videos before and I doubt they ever even saw it. So thank you so so much. Also I think Brownies is the cutest thing!
You're so welcome! I'll admit, it's pretty time consuming (it usually takes me several hours over the course of a few days) to go through comments, but if people are taking the time to write something on one of my videos or ask a question I want to be able to take the time to respond! It makes me sad knowing that's not the norm :(

January is usually when marching bands perform at Disneyland. I performed with my band in January. It's not super busy if you in the middle of the week

Future Q for you: what brands of makeup did face characters use? I am always interested in long lasting/heat resistant products!
That's a good question! Because I consider anything regarding my training as private company information, I don't feel entitled to release that information. I'm sure other TH-camrs might, but I've decided not to on my channel.
HOWEVER - I can speak to the makeup I used when I was working as an attendant because I did have to learn how to make my makeup last long and withstand the humidity! I would use the Hourglass mineral veil primer as a base (rstyle.me/n/c6whvaby6ux), use the It Cosmetics CC cream - it's one of my all time faves! (rstyle.me/n/c6whx2by6ux) and then set/bake my makeup with a loose setting powder (rstyle.me/n/c6wh2eby6ux). I can do a video on it sometime (I thought I had done one in the past) talking about how to do your makeup to withstand humidity!

Mackenzie! Loved how you addressed the payroll issues that have been in the spotlight for Disney lately. As a Disney fan, I find it ridiculous that this behemoth of a company does not pay their workers enough. I saw a statistic, and I might get this wrong, that 1 in 10 Disneyland workers have been homeless. Nobody deserves to live in fear of being homeless particularly if they are working for a well-known company such as Disney. Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now. I love the name Brownies it's so cute! If you wanted to make youtube merch ever brownies would make for lots of fun puns! Also just wanted to say that I love love love watching your videos! Your positivity is absolutely contagious!
Also, I've seen videos of people going to international Disney parks and the meet and greet atmosphere is crazy there! Basically, people just crowd around the characters and they choose who they meet while they're out and about. It's pretty different from the US parks.
I've heard about that too! Crazy!! I think the way Disney World has character meet and greets is my favorite. I feel like it's the most "fair" out of all the formats
I don't think a lot of people are aware, and most people are pretty surprised when they find out how much I made when I was there. There was also another "bonus" issue I heard another TH-camr talking about where Disney promised its workers bonuses (after Universal did) but when the unions tried to negotiate better pay Disney withheld the bonuses.
I (obviously) love Disney and loved working there. But I do see it in a slightly different light after working there.

if you have freckles does that affect your chances of being a character performer/change what characters you can be? i have been wondering this since i have some freckles on my face and i really would like to be a character performer one day! also, does being tan affect which characters you can be as well?

I have a friend who has TONS of freckles (all over her arms too) and she not only does meet and greets but she's been selected for parades, shows and has multiple face character roles. Also if they're on your face, you could always wear a full coverage foundation to help cover them up!
Disney world is my favorite place on earth. It's so much fun. I went for my birthday a few weeks ago, and it was so much fun. ( p.s, brownies sounds so cute!!! )

I didn’t realize how awesome getting to the parks early was until this year when we went to Toy Story Land incredibly early... we rode mania twice and the swirl ride once all in probably a half an hour (we had a fast pass for the slinky ride later)

Thanks Dakota! I'm so glad! When I was wanting to work for Disney I would watch lots of different TH-cam videos, but there wasn't a lot out there! My goal is to try to provide as much information as possible for that reason. So it's always great to hear that the videos are helpful!
please tell me! when i meet ariel, at what point in her story is she? for example is she already a mom? or like cinderella, did the slipper fit and she got the prince or did she have to fight to restore his memory (ala twist in time).
I would assume most (if not all) of the characters are in the middle of their original story. But if you were to ask them questions regarding their sequels they might still answer, they just wouldn't bring the sequels up on their own.
Enchanted is a great movie! It’s been one of my favorite movies ever since it came out in the theater! I’m so glad you mentioned. I love your videos too!

I waited 4 hours in line for the new Avatar ride and honestly it was 100% worth it, I've been to Disney 6 times and Universal it's by far the best ride I have ever been on!!

I once took a picture with Snow White in Magic Kingdom and her right arm was completely tanned. As in, it was brown. And I thought it was so cool that Snow White tanned so easily 😆
Haha apparently one question Snow White gets a lot is that she's not that "pale". I think she usually explains that just because she's the fairest in her land doesn't mean that she always is the fairest in ours. And that "fair" is more reflective of her personality more than her skin color

Oh my gosh I'm so excited for you! I did the fall DCP too! I'm a little biased, but I think it's the best since you get to see what the parks are like during Halloween and Christmas! Plus you get a double discount mid-November through December too! Honestly I always get super nervous too before big events. I typically just try to distract myself by staying busy!
