One thing about Paul Gilbert's playing that makes him sound so "complete" as a Guitarist ( much like the amazing Randy Rhoads ) is that he GETS that you need to resolve your guitar licks and solos. He doesn't just aimlessly fly all over the fretboard to show off his chops and not have it sound like he's completing his "thought". Neal Schon and Ronnie Montrose (RIP) are great at that too.

@@youvsyou945 Solos maybe a bit worse (technically clean, but I just prefer the originals), rest far better. Vocals sound better than original. Mixing/mastering also better here
All songs on Second Heat are worth covering. That album is fucking perfect, but it has shitty backing vocals (out of tune! Through the entire album, wtf!) which drive me crazy

I love those ripping riffs, they're not easy to pull off, real ear candy though. Jeff Waters is also a bad ass at writing riffs like that.
