I had a 66 F100 with 352 and 4 speed Manual transmission ( granny gear) from my Junior year in 1978, and drove it for 10 years. Loved the truck a lot. I decided to restore my dads 68 F100 360 and C6 transmission. and sold the 66. The 68 different body but similar driving. It has been a great truck too. I still drive it. It does not look new, but is always reliable.
Thanks for the ride along. I had a 66 Effie for ten years, sold it about 12 years ago and miss it dearly. That interior shot going down the road was good for the soul. Sounded good too.
I am working on one of these right now, it had a 352 but dropped a valve at startup after sitting for 20+ yrs. so I’m about to swap in a 390 4v into it this makes me want to get mine running even more now after hearing that sound.
Nice :-D My first car was '66 Ford F100 Twin I Beam. Loved my Betsy -- wish I still had her :( Brought back some serious memories. She was a automatic, that lovely 60's teal green. She had the big steel back bumper with the holders for the extra gas cans. Course, she was stock -- Straight 6, straight side, am radio, no power steering, no power brakes, choke (had to keep it out the thickness of my thumb, couldn't push it all the way in or she would die) black vinyl bench seat. My dad had bought it for my mom in '70, and I remember sitting in her, seeing nothing but that radio. Dad figured if I could drive her, I could drive anything. Sorry bout going on -- it was nice to hear one again. Sure loved my ol gal :-)
You need your Vacuum Advance hooked up. My friends hae a 1979 With a 400. Sits through winter. Hook the cable's up. Get in it. Cranking a d pumping it at the same time. Starts right up.
Krankie V Yer welcome. Hope to see more videos on it. If your interested you can see some videos on my channel as well. My GMC don't sound as good, but it's unique. lol
Sounds great. What camshaft are you running? I have a 69 f100 with a 360 . Did u have to change valve springs? Most of the cams I find ask for new springs due to binding issues with the stock ones.
Comp cams magnum 305H. Bought it as a kit that came with cam lifters valve springs retainers and positive valve seals. The heads need to be machined to accept the double springs and the seals. It's important to use the upgraded springs. Extra spring pressure is needed to avoid valve float with the longer duration of this cam
Great job! Not much can beat a good FE block engine and a C-6 transmission for good performance and reliability. Which engine is yours? I'm guessing 390, as they run well and live pretty much forever. The sounds bring back memories of a couple of Mustangs I once owned. Has a '67 convertible with the 390 and four speed, then later in the mid 70s I bought another '67 with sound body, and a not so good 289 with C4. Swapped in a FE engine, which turned out to be a 406 from a Mercury, which the VIN said was a 410. Went first with a C6, then later swapped in a 10 bolt four speed, and a 3.73:1 nine inch from a Cougar. That would be about 1975 or so. Was able to order every part I needed (except the junkyard parts_ from my local Ford dealer at the time, and fairly cheaply. Wish I still had both of them!
redneckbryon Yeah, I drained the Marvel Mystery Oil from the carburetor first. I decided to cut that out of the video because it was pretty boring. The fuel pump picked up fuel much more quickly than I thought it would. Thanks for watching bud
Robert Hill Yeah, basically, cam, heads rebuilt, headman hedders, edelbrock performer 390 intake, and holley 4160 carb. I will rebuild the bottom end when my budget allows. Thanks for watching and for the compliment! There are a few more videos of this truck on my channel if you're interested.
because of the way these transmissions work. I move the selector to 2, let it upshift, then pull back into 1 in order to keep the trans in second gear. otherwise it will upshift into third gear sooner than I want. the trans will upshift to third even in the "2" position.
jasonmushersee I'm probably going to put 2-1/4" tailpipes, maybe 2.5". Don't need it any louder lol... the cops are starting to take interest. I converted the holley to manual choke, since this truck was originally equipped with a manual choke. That, and I didn't want to wire up the electric choke.
Boy she sounding vicious my brother. You should do a TH-cam video of you scaring the living hell out of you're girlfriend with you're vicious sounding F100.
When you took it out on the road and opened it up I got the biggest smile on my face, I freakin love the way that thing sounds! the drive by was a nice touch too!
th-cam.com/video/QuoKNZjr8_U/w-d-xo.html and it sounds fuckin bad ass. that steering wheel isn't fat guy friendly, i could expect some unwanted rubbing.
You absolutely have my favorite truck.keep driving it and always be safe and enjoy your ride.
I bought a 66 ford pickup I'm restoring sat for 12 years turned the key and in no time was idelin smoothly,, that 352 is bulletproof

Oh man the Awakening of 390 FE (AKA The Beast).
actually, that's the old 352 that came in the truck. Later in the fall of 2015 it burnt a piston
@@Krankie_V Man brother I'm sorry about that.
@@CJColvin it's fine haha that was years ago and that allowed me to build the badass 390

Have fun with it! I swapped mine to a 390 as well. Burnt a piston out of this engine in October 2015

Karen Barbera Great story! This was actually the first vehicle I ever owned as well.
Sounds excellent!
Joseph Ross Thanks mate, I've got a video on my channel that's just a start and rev, to skip all the BS lol

That distributor was messed up. Been replaced with a fully mechanical one.
Ok.
The real steel truck ranch ! No plastic truck ! Nice video
Very neat old truck! Love it! That motor sounds wicked.
thanks for watching bud

+Military Chevy alright and thanks!
cool to watch! I have a 65 F-350 with the 352 restored. I'm now squirreling away new parts from NPD for a near full restoration. can't wait!

Awesome truck! And it sounds amazing!
+Hthe Man Thanks bro

Ha that's the same truck type I learned to drive on faded red we called it Pink Floyd I'm working on a 78 F150 3006!
nice man, nothing like a Ford truck!
JRoberts1260 it this truck good to learn how to drive a standard transmission
Ryu Vlogs
you're better off learning in a car rather than a truck. they shift easier and are more forgiving.
yup its an fe awright. thanx 4 da ride,
4:18 in my Stone Cold Steve Austin voice GIVE ME A HELL YEAH!!!!
That why i 5.3 swapped mine

In this video the truck has the original 352 engine, but I swapped it the next year for a 390
Sounds Sweet
From the looks of it, it started a lot easier than you expected it to.
redneckbryon Yeah, I drained the Marvel Mystery Oil from the carburetor first. I decided to cut that out of the video because it was pretty boring. The fuel pump picked up fuel much more quickly than I thought it would. Thanks for watching bud
awesome sounding truck
thanks bud, got some newer vids up with a new engine, sounds a bit better now I think
SO AWESOME!!! Sounds great! Nice video work too, the gopro is in a really good spot.
SuperKONR Thanks for the feedback and the compliments man, I appreciate it!
What have you done to the engine? Cam and heads? It sounds great.
Robert Hill Yeah, basically, cam, heads rebuilt, headman hedders, edelbrock performer 390 intake, and holley 4160 carb. I will rebuild the bottom end when my budget allows. Thanks for watching and for the compliment! There are a few more videos of this truck on my channel if you're interested.
need those two front fenders how much ?!
David Banner are you kidding me?! not for sale
Krankie V I need the passenger side on but yes I was kidding you I have the same truck you have !!
Cool bro, I'm sure you'll find the parts you need somewhere
Snap crackle pop ole ford truck lol nice vid
richthecardude94 Hahaha yeah, thanks mate
Why do you down shift after you have already changed gears........
because of the way these transmissions work. I move the selector to 2, let it upshift, then pull back into 1 in order to keep the trans in second gear. otherwise it will upshift into third gear sooner than I want. the trans will upshift to third even in the "2" position.
Learn something new everyday, good luck and have fun...
Those glass packs should break up the frozen ground! How about 4" exhaust the rest of the way back and that holley has a manual choke?
jasonmushersee I'm probably going to put 2-1/4" tailpipes, maybe 2.5". Don't need it any louder lol... the cops are starting to take interest.

Sounds like a beast!!! So awesome!!! >:)
certainly does roll
Why aint you got your vacume advance hooked up/ are you selling it.
vac advance is disconnected due to high idle, and no I'm not selling it. it now has a full mechanical distributor.
nice
FE engines sounds the best along with the flathead and old Y block in my opinion:)
what headers? is it 352
nice cam, truck has some get! what is the rear 411?
James Kmenta something like 3:1 in the rear, definitely needs lower gears
spitting a lot of gas out of the top of the carb. Mine does that on startup.
Vacuum advance wasn't hooked up threw me off
kyle monson it's disconnected for a reason... been swapped to a distributor without vacuum advance

coolbluelights I did too bud thanks! I missed that sound so much over the winter.
i had the same exact expression. gotta get me one of these
Sounds amazing is it a 289 or a 302?
naterade21 Neither, mate. It's a 352
What cam you running and do u know the specs?
Check the description of my other video here th-cam.com/video/lDwq1ZTniX0/w-d-xo.html
It has the info you are looking for
I would give it a shot of eather
Hey if possible could you sell this truck to me for $1000? LOL
Richard Bach that kid pissed me right off big time bud
Sounds nasty
1944johndeerel I love the sound in the fly-by clip at the end. I never get to hear what it sounds like outside the cab. Thanks buddy
lol but in the cab is where the fun is at
th-cam.com/video/QuoKNZjr8_U/w-d-xo.html and it sounds fuckin bad ass. that steering wheel isn't fat guy friendly, i could expect some unwanted rubbing.
***** It probably would be uncomfortable. It would be difficult to steer with a smaller wheel though. 100% manual steering.
