I admire and drool over the food you post and since Pholourie is my favorite snack food I am definitely trying your recipe.. The photo posted looks so good...
Food dye in was never used in this. The colour came from the split peas and the the turmeric Dye is the term used in Guyana or in Berbice to mean Turmeric. They say Dye because it stains everything in that bright colour. We never used the modern word tumeric or the proper english name for it, and I never heard an Indian word for it, like how they use geera.
Its geerah ! Depending on how much cucumbers u use ! I used two so I'd say one tsp . The more cucumbers u use , u increase d amount. I hope my explanation is understood .
I appreciate ur opinion, but I use what is my preference . One can use either one ! It doesn't take away d flavour n thts what is important ..its just for colour .
I can't speak for all Guyanese my dear , because some of them use strictly measurements! I'm frm old school , so I basically average !From experience over d years , I find some recipes using measurements didn't really had much flavour ( I've been a cook/ caterer for more than forty years ) so I started to use my own technique I would suggest u watch d video again ,n you'll hear tht I did say what was as well as d amounts tht were in d blender . I hope I've been able to give u some clarity .

How can I get a written recipe with the instructions?
You can use a spoon instead of your hands
I prefer to use my hands !They r washed before I use them .

What did u put in the cucumber?
Salt,vinegar ,masala n pepper
You can use geerah ,if u don't hve masala
